- Maria Domenica Lazzeri began experiencing intense suffering after the passing of her father. According to Physicians, she ate and drank nothing for the last 14 years of her life except for receiving Holy Communion.
In 1835, she received the stigmata, and shortly after, the crown of thorns. She is frequently depicted with her hands joined bleeding as she lays upon her bed. She died on 4 April 1848. Her cause for beatification was formally reopened in 1995. She was declared venerable in 2023.

Not quite a 'miracle,' but I was praying a bit as I drove to a diner for breakfast. I ate really well and when I was finished the waitress came up to me and said: : "You don't get a check. Someone paid your bill." And she wouldn't tell me who it was. But, in my mind, it was an "angel." I'm finding that the more I pray, the more stuff like this happens. Like finding the best parking space, etc. Believe me, as a disabled army vet, I sure appreciate the help!

Please take a look at a similar story of Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta. She remained in bed, never leaving Corato, Italy and lived solely on the Holy Eucharist and the Divine Will for the rest of her life, some 60 years. It was during these years as a victim soul that a priest urged Luisa to write of her experiences with Jesus, which she did in the form of a spiritual diary, and from Feb. 28, 1899, to Dec. 28, 1938, she wrote about 10,000 pages that covered 36 volumes.
