    Some day hopefully not so far over the rainbow I'll be gettin' me one of these early 80's 22R 4x4's. Looking handsome!

    Regarding your radiator,
    I replaced my original one recently with an all aluminum unit from Oreily. Runs super cool and not too expensive, was just a little over 300$.
    Notice you valve cover front sticker is gone. Minewas torn and just showed the first “2” digit. Being an 82’ truck I assumed it was an 22r. Come to find out it was swapped for a 20r. Before figuring that out I had a heck of a time figuring out what alt/volts reg setup I needed. Finally worked that out when I realized I had a ~79’ motor.
    Nice work and thx for sharing!

    Mandrel exhaust flange with a graphite gasket on eBay will let u keep those headers

    • @toyotatherapy9685
      @toyotatherapy9685  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea I need to have them machined and they’d be good to go but honestly they are just kinda trash so I won’t bother. I’ll probably buy the LCE headers

      Well you shouldn’t really have to do any wiring as far as I know

      @@toyotatherapy9685 im going with gm coil and ignitor And gm one wire alternator so the wiring is different because the 1986 used to be a 22re

      The GM one wire alternator should be super easy I’ve got one in my truck I don’t know if I mentioned that in the video but I like it it works very well. As for the GM igniter and coil I’ve never used one but I have thought about it so I’d like to know how that turns out for you. Keep me updated

    I got a redline cam do i need to rebuild the valve springs cam springs everything in the head? Or can i.leave it stock and throw the cam in? Im worried ill move the head gasket too and cause problems

    • @toyotatherapy9685
      @toyotatherapy9685  ปีที่แล้ว

      No you don’t have to swap out the springs, seats or keeper you can leave everything stock I did mine so that I could rev my engine to 7000 RPM. And you won’t mess up your head gasket as long as you drain your coolant. Sorry I just saw this I know it’s two months old but let me know how it went! Good luck

      @@toyotatherapy9685 I can torque everything to factory spec? You can re-use head bolts?!

    • @toyotatherapy9685
      @toyotatherapy9685  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chefrobertcaldas they say to replace them… I reused mine twice and everything is totally fine… yodashop.com sells stock head bolts pretty cheap if you’re worried about it. The whole job took me about three hours and I do things very slow to make sure I get them right. Re-torque to factory specs and make sure you follow the proper torque sequence. And don’t forget to refill your coolant. Also make sure you use high zinc oil to break the cam in.
