HI Ad, thanks. The reason why I wanted you to analyse this was what Pat Heatrick talked about on his channel ( have a look, very interesting). He was applying the formula for kenetic power (energy) K.E. = 1/2 m v2. to strikes. He was saying that it is far better for fighters on try to increase the speed part of the formula ( v squared ) since that would contribute far more to the power than just increasing your weight, which also restricted by weight classes. However in the HW scene as in this fight that does not apply and if you have a VERY large weight advantage as Sapp does ( > 100lbs over Hoost) then you could have more power throwing just arm punches, and for Sapp this actually worked which is crazy and stark to see over the best HW KB ever.
Then Crocop comes along in the next fight vs Sapp and who has a similar weight disadvantage but it would seem strikes much harder than Hoost and puts Sapp away with the sheer speed and acceleration of his strikes. Quite amazing to see the laws of motion proven in such stark fashion !

I will check that out, thank you! Bob Sapp is such an athletic specimen and such a huge man that his huge power made up for his lack of technique, I'm actually surprised he didn't continue to do well against the other top guys at the time, I think his mentality towards wanting to be a winning fighter changed within a few fights though, I mean I can't blame him, there were plenty of monsters around at that time too.
Thank you for suggesting this, it was a fun fight to look back on, I will revisit this era again!
