I'll add to the chorus, if you want a funky dance number, review LTD's Back In Love Again, with Jeffrey Osborne singing lead. The song is heavy on horns for Amber, and a funky baseline for Jay, along with Jeffrey's lead vocals.
I just saw Jeffrey Osborne live 2 weeks ago and he sounds almost exactly the same and he looks great. He’s been one of the main Lakers National Anthem singers for many years.

I remember seeing Jeffrey Osborn in Boston. It was an outdoor concert. His opening act was some no named singer. Her name was Whitney Houston. Yup true story. I was sitting close to the stage with my gf now wife and after Whitney was finished my wife said, you can put your tongue back in your mouth now 😂😂😂. She was gorgeous!
I saw that same show in Cleveland! We were at the Front Row theatre where the round stage revolved, and since our seats were in the third row we had an up close view. They were both phenomenal and to this day that’s still one of my favorite concerts.
Mr. Osborne is a BEAUTIFUL BROTHER! I was working the hotel industry in 1986/87 at Sheridan Plaza in Chicago and Jeffrey was staying there. I was a Front Desk Clerk and Mr Osborne gave myself and some others tickets to the concert. At the time "You Should be Mine" was the cut getting airplay. We had great seats on the main floor! The opening act was a new group--Lavert!--and they CLOWNED! Jeffrey came into the audience with Bodyguards--which he needed--and let some of the audience members sing. My girl Phyllis--who I worked with in the hotel at that time--sang and brought the house DOWN!!! Really cool, peaceful, Brother!
I didn't realize how lucky I was (we all were) to have songs like this and so many other great ones playing rotation on the radio. We heard it all and learned to love it all (most of it).

Omg, me too! I thought I was the only one and that maybe it was weird that it wasn't necessarily a love song for me. It brings tears to my eyes because it immediately makes me think of my dad. It was just that era. Such a beautiful song and his voice is AMAZING!!!
