    Would it be same for red head & yellow head gouldian pair or it just for red head and black head

      For a yellow/orange head to be a visual they have to carry 1 copy of the red head gene. Therefore they have two copies of orange and one copy red. It would therefore be less of an issue. Particularly a hen to a red headed cock would be fine. I hope this answers the question. I am recording today so I will discuss it as well.

    Thank you for the information packed video.
    Why is it that some purple breasted green back hens looks like black headed birds, but on close inspection you find a few red feathers?

      This normally happens when the hen comes from a mixed pairing. But can happen with the same head colour pairing. I have also got a hen that was very clearly a red head before her molt but now look almost a black head the red is so little.

    Would it be same for the red head and yellow head pair and yellow head and black head pair. Or is it only red head and black head are incompatible

    Thank you for sharing! Are Gouldians difficult to breed, in comparison to canaries?

    • @thehouseofgouldians
      @thehouseofgouldians  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I have personally never kept canaries but from what I understand canaries are easier to keep and breed.
