  • In this episode we look at what to do when your gouldians are proving to be bad parents.
Please email us photos of your birds, or comment on the video with questions you may have. I do try and respond to every question and I also appreciate your suggestions for topics. (Please bear in mind that if it is not something I am personally well informed about it may take a while to do an episode on the topic as I need to find an expert who is able to share their knowledge.
Please also feel free to email me if you wish to also do a breeder feature and highlight your club.

Thank you very much. Yes it is an exciting pair. I have their dilute son which will be ready to breed in the 2024 season, but I really hope to get some more offspring from the mother this year to work with. She is on the limit in terms of age so I hope she breeds successfully this year (2023).

❤super appreciate 🙏 the wonderful information you provide. Cheers mate from the U.S.. Your videos are such a help and wealth of information. I had a question regarding removing the babies in colony breeding after they are fully weaned? Is best to wait until a bit of color shows on em?

Hi. You can normally safely remove youngsters at about forty five days old. In a colony setup I would be tempted to leave them longer so that they can learn good parenting from the other pairs and often these chicks will help feed the younger siblings from the next round.

wow all i do is give them seeds and soaked seeds with no routine and my gouldians breed like rabbits i think we over compilcate gouldians.

I do think you can over complicate it but you can see the size and type difference on well breed birds.
