If you are going to lock the Cover in place when traveling. You will need rubber washers to secure the know in place. Road vibration loosens them. Go to the Plumbing aisle and get washers for a toilet seat. A four pack of half inch I believe. My knobs stopped falling off after using them.
What is the "rack stabilizer kit"? ... working to figure out where this goes? Thought I'd ordered some slide brackets for the top of my rack bars (holding kayaks in place) but I don't think these are they. Not a "RealTruck" issue, I ordered direct from BAK/ProRack... (long delivery time... AGAIN, not a RealTruck issue. They seems to be great and I wish I'd gone through them)
Can you buy just the rack system? I already have the hard tonneau cover on my 2020 Ram, and would just need the Rack. As well does this rack fit with other tonneau covers, like from Mopar?
Bud, in our experience, buying the individual components necessary to convert a regular BAKFlip to a CS ended up costing as much as just buying a whole CS system. We suggest calling our sales team but keep in mind that it may end up being pricey. Unfortunately, the rack is not compatible with other covers.
Bak Industries has not made these available for the 16+ Tacoma yet. They have many changes that are currently going on with some redesigns and we are hoping that once this is done they will release the CS system for the Tacoma but no dates as of yet.
Here is what information we have from BAK Industries: BAKFlip rails have a load-baring flange, and folding panels with a solid ½” EPS core, allowing your BAKFlip to carry up to 400lbs of weight on the top depending on the model you choose. Rather than stand on the top surface, you can fold the cover over a couple times to make the folded top stronger. Then you are actually standing on the bottom of the cover where any scuffs will be unseen when closed. The CS rack has 500lbs capacity.
HELPFUL HINT: the stands and difficulty of threading those into the nylok nuts... I simply assembled these separate from the channel and then slid the whole thing into the channel (nut already LOOSE on the stand). CHALLENGE: the allen wrench tool is limited with a wide bed side/lip (cannot turn it).
Those racks do not appear they are designed to be removed once installed. I am in desperate need of a cover and rack system that allows me to have a hard tonneau cover with ladder racks that can slide on and off. I only need the ladder racks once in awhile. My garage door has a 7 foot door. A permanent ladder rack won’t fit into my garage. Any suggestions? 2014 Ford F-150 6.5’ bed ... Thanks!
The CS system can simply be removed in a matter of minutes. The up-rights have 4 allen head bolts that hold them to the rails of the cover. These can simply be unbolted and removed rather quickly.
@@idsullymichaels I've been thinking of buying this system myself, and for the same reasons (for my kayak's). Since you already bought one, does it come off easily? And do you know if you can buy just the rack system? I already have the hard tonneau cover on my 2020 Ram.
Yes!!! I went to Lowes and found round insulation in two different sizes. It is called Backer Rod. I used 1/2 inch on the top and 5/8 inch on the bottom. It will shrink on you after riding around so you will have to add a few inches to the opening of the gap after a while. I didn't do the whole underside. Just the exposed area at the end cap. Pass it on. It works great and won't come out.

U know where i can buy the side rail only. My broke 😭
I am in canada. Where can I buy this rack ?
Real truck
Great video, very informative. Would you happen to know how much weight the rack can hold?
500 lbs max
Will there be one for 2016+ Tacoma's?

i have a question: if i have spray in bed-liner in my truck... what will be the best way to install my bulk head seal?
The best way to install the seal would be to use alcohol or an adhesive promoter to ensure the seal sticks to your bed liner.
Thank you I appreciate the help!
the also give you shims if your truck needs it
How much weight can be put on the cover, if any.

Look up invis a rack works if your cover don't lay on the rails I believe depending on cover
I'm in the same boat... already have the system and am wondering about the rack going on and off simply to load a kayak when fishing or camping...

@@guylarock love it. Yes, comes off easily. But you need a second hand to line it up.
I installed this system on my 2018 f 150. It starts howling/whistling like a piccolo at 30 kms per hour. Anyone have a quick fix?"
