This is one scary story, selling everything, quitting her job, leaving everything behind for someone she never met in person, let alone get to know him.Even if he was real, she shouldn't have done that
Too bad people at work or her family never told her to be careful it could be a Romance Scam or check if it is a Romance Scam. Only the Lady's Friend checked for her and saw it was a Romance Scam.
We have to remember it starts w slow bait. She didn't run out the door & onto an 8 lane freeway! She just went for a walk! One step at a time led her from innocent pace to chaos. The share helps us all, but we have to learn from the slow burn
It hurts me physically knowing a random scammer got almost half a million dollars... all that money could've been donated or saved up more for her own use but instead she gave it to a worthless scammer. These ladies are making scammers rich
BAD ADVICE- it's TOO LATE when finances come up- the spell is cast! REAL advice= don't flirt endlessly w a stranger- you'll get HOOKED on a shut-in at best, a FRAUDSTER at worst!
My flabber is gasted that NO ONE in this woman's circle of co-workers and friends raised any concerns about what she was getting herself into. Whether she would have listened or not is another matter but it seems that everyone was fooled by this scammer who ticked every box of the Scam 101 handbook.
I was thinking the same thing ...If my friend approached me with this I would definitely tell her to check things out ...I would do research too for her .....She probably wouldn't have listened ...I've dated a guy that was bad news ..even his ex reached out to me and gave me proof and I ignored her and my family and friends ..I had to learn myself and I sure did ...but they should have at least said something
I can never figure out how someone would agree to marry someone they have never met. I never even wanted to marry guys I was dating in the flesh!! The physical chemistry has to be right. Please, people, be careful!!
She was willfully blind. So obvious it was a scam. You wouldn't give 500k away if you met face to face. She gave her number away straight away despite her saying 'I never normally give my neighbour to strangers'.
I can't even comprehend it ..I lost 150 through a pet scam and it didn't financially ruin me but it pissed me off for months ..my family was tired of me complaining about it ..that was ONLY 150. I cant fathom. losing a half a million
It's not shocking. Unfortunately, there are loads of desperately lonely people out there who'll fall for anyone, in the flesh or online, who'll whisper sweet nothings and make them feel wanted, loved, and desired. So sad, so very sad, and all too common because people aren't able to be happy and content with themselves.
These ppl are cold and calculated. This pos asked her to sell her car and ride a bicycle. She actually agreed to sell her house to someone who is a total stranger. This is beyond me and so freaking sad.
It's exhausting listening to this same story over and over (I don't know how you do it William). It's like little kids crossing the street without looking and getting hit by a car. Then the next day the same thing happens again. And again. And nothing changes.
This poor woman, believed this scum, and it wrecked her life, sounds like a very experienced scammer too. This is such a tragic story, and she will never find out who did this. Scammers steal more than money, they stole this womans dreams, and broke her heart because she didn't investigate or do a reverse image search and believed in a fantasy.
The broken heart is worse than losing money. I wanted to just die, it hurt so bad. Those words were amazing. I did get to tell him that he can always write greeting cards. No use of cursing him, also, he must answer to God.
It’s brave of this woman to tell this story. But, it is shocking how reckless people can be. To sell everything and send half a million dollars to a person you have not met.
true, I live in a modest home, but it means everything to me, I can't imagine giving it up. I might rent it out or something but I can't see myself selling it
That is nothing I seen on Dr phil. 2 people sent a million bucks. Even after disregarding his advice. & a doctor sent a lady 750,000.I told people I wouldn't want him to be my doctor. The doctor spent 6 years trying to get 2 steel boxes from Nigeria to the US. It would been cheaper to just go get them your self. I am disability & special needs, But I know better then to send so much money. If I know better these grown adults should know too then to send money to complete stranger. I would never sell anything for a online stranger. Not even for the name of love. To me Love is a Silly Emotion & it sucks.
Men cheering in the background when she said "yes "marriage ..when they are actually at an Internet cafe cheering "yeah we just a half a million dollars from this lady " how sick ....these psychopaths need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law ..
@@princessinmittens4783 What else I can say you tell me...... These Greedy people will never learn after all the Awareness by the Government, youtubers, police etc. still they willingly send money after knowing everything. Online dating sites are very dangerous; in person women can get rape and robbed and overseas scammed. She was lucky she didn’t get to travel bc some are also used as drug mules or human trafficking. Very moving story and this woman is very brave to share it 👍🏼
If he was sooo broke that he expected her to sell HER car and start bicycling to work so she could give him the money? I wouldnt give a man my money from selling a skateboard much less a freaking automobile. And I think he's a POS for asking. But then he says he's gonna fly all her family over? With what? Again, her money? Gee, he sounds like such a catch. 🙄 Why would she wanna settle for such a loser? Im sure she could find one just like him at her local bowling alley
So wait, let me see that I got this right. He's FROM Germany yet never saw snow because "he was at sea when it snowed"? So this woman believed he was either at sea when he was a 4 y/o, when he was 10, 12 or a teenager? Or did Germany have 2 decades of tropical weather with no snow? And she fell for this?
What a low life. That person who scammed her is by far one of the worst. He knew he got her to sell her darn life and didn't care and took it all. That's a criminal.
There was at least one worse than this one. It was on this channel but I do not remember the title. After scamming the victim under one profile, a scammer admit it to be a Nigerian but played on the victim sympathies and she ended up sending him more money. Later she found out that he was not struggling like she had thought. She found his Facebook account and he was flashing money and bragging like all scammers too. If I’m not mistaken, when she confronted him about it he started mocking her. scammers are really One of the lowest forms of humans on this earth.
This is scary. The blind trust that a grown woman had in an man she never met. Why didn't she contacted a lawyer or an accountant about all this before goiing through with all of this. This is a hard life lesson. He will get his share.
Wow just blows my mind..how in the HELL do you quit your job, sell everything and get ready to go meet a complete stranger???and the cherry on top not even verify the flight information...geez😮
If I would have a house worth 480k I would never ever sell it. That always serves as a fallback, safety net. Cash is cash, that can come and go. Not a house. You can always let it out and get income from it...
I won’t repeat what others have said, but it’s madness. I’ve had great chat with genuine possible dates, but then when you meet there is zero spark. And that’s real people, who live close by, never mind selling your house, car, resigning and planning marriage with someone far away that you’ve never met or hardly videod
Those women are delusional and foolishly naive. Their online Lover can be a psycho-pat mur*der rapi*st pdfile... And they agree to throw their whole life to those strangers for some fake love bombing. Expensive lesson to learn.
Very sad. We must not forget the hours they talked together. There is something about being online and your imagination is switched on. A normal reaction but then the manipulation begins. If you don't care about money be careful, these scammers are not woth your good heart. Remember you could be scammed again as they put you on their 'suckers list'. That's how much they care for you.
We have Pounds in the UK not dollars. We even have snow down south in London. I understand the German accent, but struggle with Nigerian accents. When will these people wake up and smell the coffee? Stop giving your money to scammers please 🥺
Yes a lot of Bitcoin scams are popping up. You won't get your money back. And there are no ,safe sites for pets, to adopt, and purchase you'll send the money and never get the pet
Yes of course and banks most times do nothing. She sent the money willingly and most times the money ends up in a mules account and then gets sent to the scammer. can not tell you how many victims have contacted the bank with the info of who they sent the money to, their account, name etc and the bank only files the report. At the end of the day it's the persons choice to send the money. She wasn't forced to and when a victim signs documents saying they know who the money is being sent to and does all the legal paperwork, then the bank is not held liable and the person who sends the money did so on their own accord unfortunately.
I’m single never been married but still some of the crazy stories these scammers tell people are unbelievable. Like they would have blocked me because I would be asking Real questions. Plus do these people travel? How do you not research information on Google before just believing things? Did she not look up immigration requirements on her own?

None of the feelings are (or were) real. You were scammed, that's it... Never send a person you've never met money, period. Even if they are using their own pics or video chat, never send money. ❤
It seems to be a new thing for scammers. They will claim to be a victim using their fake profile to make their target victims feel sorry for them and not even second guess they are scammers themselves
As much as she hurts I pray she lets go of trying to find the scammer. She needs to grieve and eventually accept everything was a lie. There were no real feelings from the scammer as she said.
She will never find him unless she spends a lot of money, and probably not even then. If she listens to some of the conversations that William has as Betty. I am sure she will find the Nigerian accent familiar. She needs to find a good mental health therapist to help her work through the pain and grief.
I’ve paid over $75,000 to a woman in the Philippines over a two year period…she has had a litany of problems, we have done video chats…I don’t think I’m getting scammed but voluntarily giving her this money…but I need to stop it as I am retired on a fixed income…
There are new scammers from china and even doing reverse image get nothing. Because they use chinese pictures filtred (chinese aren’t on international social media). The safest way is TO ALWAYS WAIT TO MEET BEFORE GETTING FEELING INVOLVE.
If someone is booking you a flight or a hotel room, tell them enter YOUR email in the booking. That way you will have all the info you need and you make sure to know any changes made to the itinerary. If the other person is a passenger too, ask them to resend the email with the confirmation, and check the reservation with the code on the platform it is from or the airline website. NEVER accept an screenshot as a confirmation, even if you trust the person, always make sure you have the real thing. Immigration, no matter which country´s, will never ask you to not have money. The other way round, they will ask you to have money (or your spouse, in this case).
These scammers are becoming more and more common with their fake stories…always seem to work overseas, have a child in the USA where they live, have problems with their banks and their wife passed in some tragic circumstances. I don’t look for them nor do I respond to them on any social media platforms. SMH
They are also on game sites, so chatting with strangers who strike up a conversation is not a good idea. I just ran into one, and he wanted to be "friends" because I was so nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I muddled through the game, he lost, and I gave him no information he could possibly use, not even my real name, just a nickname and the state I lived in, and that is all. He challenged me to another game after I had told him that I did not trust online strangers. He was pushy. I've been watching so many of these episodes that I could write a book now. A few years ago, a scammer did get me for $1,000 for a Yahoo scam when I couldn't get into my email. I called a fake number (online) for Yahoo, and rather than go into all of it, they got me for Google Play cards to "fix my IP address." I didn't know diddly about how it worked, and since I called them from the "directory" I thought I was OK. Be also aware of fake online stores. They will take your credit card number then not send the merchandise, but will use your credit card number. I've had to replace my card four or five times. Now I only use Amazon and Paypal.
I hate to keep commenting, I can’t help myself. You think she would have opted for a visit first. At least to see if they were comparable, and make sure he wasn’t a drunk, or (gasp) lying to her. Instead, her plan is To dive in the water head first without so much as looking down.
People: You NEED TO LEARN TO BE HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE BEING SINGLE!!! Desperation creates carelessness and carelessness can lead to huge financial and emotional losses!! Society bears some blame for so many people falling victim to these scammers. People are made to feel that something's wrong with you if you're not in a couple. They're also fooled into believing that you can't truly be happy UNLESS YOU'RE WITH SOMEONE. BOLLOCKS!!!!! Stop listening to what Society tells you!! Stop being a sheep and thinking if you don't seize "this" opportunity at "this" time, you'll have blown it. NO! NO! NO! And IF, IF, like this lady, someone from another country tells you to put your money in "his" or "her" account, "just in case," CHECK WITH THAT COUNTRY'S EMBASSY AS TO WHAT TO DO!!!!!
Wow that’s unbelievable that she trusted someone she’d never met. I usually don’t feel bad for these people but I kinda do feel bad for her for loosing everything.
he did have a genuin interest in you it was 500k worth . i have no sympathy any more if people are stupid enough to part with these large sums of money it no ones fault but there own
Pity we can not see the lady and the picture of "him".Its often an average looking lady thinks this handsome guy likes her and they are over moon.Victims need often reality check.
Yes he made a fake Barclay's account to show her and make her believe he was helping her get everything set up. The account was fake. From her documents she sent, he gave her the website to the account to login. The web address was slightly different than the real Barclay's website with a slight alteration of the spelling of the website.
Scammers will always say they can’t be on camera bcuz they are n the Military they always us that BS also the kid is n boarding school or raised by a nanny bcuz the mom is dead same ole sob stories
After listening to this whole thing..this could have been me. My scammer was so smooth too, and ohh..did I fall in love. He made is mistake wanting, at first to buy a house..to buying a house together. Over a million dollar house. He would put in 5 grand and me 5 grand to take it off the market. I have bought several houses. You have to put a 10% non-refundable deposit to hold a house. I was out right there.
Fortunately for you, you had experience with buying houses and knew that you needed 10% down and knew the scammer did not know what they were talking about with only 10,000 down on $1 million house. A lot of scammers are very ignorant. They don’t travel and although literate, they’re not very smart. They do not know how the world operates. They say some of the most ludicrous and ridiculous things. With this scammer who claimed to be from Germany but had never seen snow, this was a red flag the victim should have not overlooked. Scammers are such horrible people.

You always check out any information they give you, and you check out photos of them
I wonder if some, or most, of her family and friends did warn her. She may not have wanted to share that in her story.
My best friend was almost roped in by an oil-rig scammer. As soon as she told me about it, I told her she was being scammed and to block him ASAP!
I can never figure out how someone would agree to marry someone they have never met. I never even wanted to marry guys I was dating in the flesh!! The physical chemistry has to be right. Please, people, be careful!!
Desperation, that’s all. Whatever you do never be desperate to do anything. It won’t go well, that’s for sure.
At least just send a 10 or 20% portion of the money, not the whole lot. Then if it works out transfer it over bit by bit.
This is like buying a car without driving it first! Stupidity at it's finest!!

Who would want a drama king anyway.
I’ll never understand why women are so inclined to trust men via social media and give out money of any amount.
I feel very very sorry for the lady. But seriously, giving 500K to someone you have never met? Is that intelligent?
I think she was desperate to hold onto the fantasy. It would have been cheaper to meet a gigolo
It’s definitely not just women. Men fall for these scams primarily.

Oh wow what a story. So sorry for her. Prayers
The feelings were real feelings for that money
Maybe she should have stuck with dating men who split the restaurant bills and used coupons. It definitely would’ve been less expensive for her
I’ve paid over $75,000 to a woman in the Philippines over a two year period…she has had a litany of problems, we have done video chats…I don’t think I’m getting scammed but voluntarily giving her this money…but I need to stop it as I am retired on a fixed income…
@hump1953,,,,, YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED! Block her NOW!
If you’re not being scammed, you certainly are being used.
There’s a video out there where a Thai woman is a “free lancer” basically looking for sugar daddies online
Agghhh! This is so very sad. I hope this lady finds some peace.
Just think a reverse image search would have prevented this
There are new scammers from china and even doing reverse image get nothing. Because they use chinese pictures filtred (chinese aren’t on international social media).
The safest way is TO ALWAYS WAIT TO MEET BEFORE GETTING FEELING INVOLVE.
She still believes he has feelings for her 🙄
This is so sad. I can't believe this lady lost everything 💔
Lord this is painful,poor lady
Not meaning to be rude, but why do these intelligent ladies keep getting scammed 🤬😅
Sorry you went thru this.A scammer will tell some good lies.🤬Hope this video will help someone else from being scammed.💯🙏🏻
It's really shocking story. But how come that someone do that all for someone never met?
Thank you for sharing ♥️
These scammers are becoming more and more common with their fake stories…always seem to work overseas, have a child in the USA where they live, have problems with their banks and their wife passed in some tragic circumstances. I don’t look for them nor do I respond to them on any social media platforms. SMH
She never met him in person. 😮 That was one heck of a love spell😣
I get those PayPal messages all the time it's always under $600 I don't answer them I just block
That is really too bad because in years past I have made friends with people online and I still email one of them.
Absolutely LOVE these!! God bless and thank you!!!
I hate to keep commenting, I can’t help myself. You think she would have opted for a visit first. At least to see if they were comparable, and make sure he wasn’t a drunk, or (gasp) lying to her. Instead, her plan is To dive in the water head first without so much as looking down.
When it's too good to be true
..RUN!!!
Do you know what the scammers do with this money? 💰 it’s trafficking of children. No excuse. Stop. 🛑
Hell better be a big place. They'll be plenty people going there😮😮😮
Why do they not check facts instead of trusting a stranger?
EVERY RED FLAG WAVED!
Thank you for making these...
Thsnk you for sharing.
Wow that’s unbelievable that she trusted someone she’d never met. I usually don’t feel bad for these people but I kinda do feel bad for her for loosing everything.
You never ever ever ever trust someone, you have never met I don't care how much they love bomb you
Omg , this video has'nt even finished , but im finding it hard to listen to . This poor silly lady . I wont say what i think of the scammer .
This woman was obviously desperate. I do not consider her a victim. There were blatant red flags. She voluntarily paid for a ridiculous fantasy.
That's terrible!!!! So many red flags 🚩🚩🚩🚩
he did have a genuin interest in you it was 500k worth . i have no sympathy any more if people are stupid enough to part with these large sums of money it no ones fault but there own
I don’t want to believe this story actually happened 😢
Pity we can not see the lady and the picture of "him".Its often an average looking lady thinks this handsome guy likes her and they are over moon.Victims need often reality check.
The first thing I would have done is take that "24 carat gold" necklace and have it appraised. You'll know whether it's real or just a piece of junk.
So many red flags. Lost count.
He didn't want her to transfer her money to the Barclays account because it was phony. Is that true?
Yes he made a fake Barclay's account to show her and make her believe he was helping her get everything set up. The account was fake. From her documents she sent, he gave her the website to the account to login. The web address was slightly different than the real Barclay's website with a slight alteration of the spelling of the website.
Scammers will always say they can’t be on camera bcuz they are n the Military they always us that BS also the kid is n boarding school or raised by a nanny bcuz the mom is dead same ole sob stories
Very trusting!
@@mildredpierce4506There were so many red flags in this story it was stunning!!!
I can see why some of these people think about committing suicide, cause WTF?!
True...losing so much money, being betrayed, heartbroken, dream become a nightmare, the shame in front of friends and family.
