The Best Ube Yema Cake | No Bake | Purple Yam | Savor Easy

- Ube is the Filipino word for purple yam. It contains pigments that gives its violet color. In the Philippines, ube is cooked with sugar and eaten as a sweetened dessert or jam called ube halaya which is a bright violet color. Ube is also an ingredient in the fruity dessert halo halo, another popular Filipino dessert.
This Ube Yema Cake is so soft and fluffy, ube yema frosting is so rich and creamy that it taste like ube halaya. Please enjoy this recipe.
Here's what you'll need:
4 egg yolks
1/3 cup granulated white sugar
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup ube halaya
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup fresh milk or evap milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1& 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 egg whites
1/2 tsp vinegar or cream of tartar or lemon juice
1/3 cup granulated white sugar
Ube Yema/ Halaya No-Drip Frosting:
5 egg yolks
1 can condensed milk (395grams)
1/4cup evap milk
1/4 cup ube halaya
1 tablespoon ube flavoring/coloring
2 tbsp salted butter
For the whipped cream:
200 ml whipping cream or all purpose cream (chilled overnight)
2 tbsp icing sugar
1 tsp ube flavoring
Notes:
1. This recipe can be baked too at 180°C for 25-30 minutes or when the toothpick comes out clean when inserted. Baking time may vary depending on your oven specification.
2. You can double this recipe if you want to.
3 You can either use boiled and mashed ube OR ube halaya.

I made a replica of your recipe last valentine's day for my mom it was surely a big hit that my mom ask me where did I bought it😊 I only change of how the topping would be and I top the cake with macapuno and ube haleya tidbits and i grated some homemade haleya which i freeze first and put the grated haleya on the sides of the cake ... the 🍰cake texture is soft and moist which really capture my mom's heart.. thank you so much for sharing this recipe of yours.🤩👌👌👌👌👌
