    How come some q7 have the hose that attaches to the battery and some don't ? Mine doesn't have it either but most have it.

      Are you talking about the breather hose?

    • @erkidfusha4919
      @erkidfusha4919 ปีที่แล้ว

      @2brokeurowners672 yes the vent tube

      @@erkidfusha4919, we aren't sure why that is. Maybe they were removed by past owners/shops that didn't know what it was for?

      Hey thanks for the quick responses, I got the vent tube at the dealer and just installed it. Do you think it had anything to do with the battery draining, or not related?

      @erkidfusha4919 , I don't think it's related. But then again, we aren't battery experts lol but it shouldn't have anything to do with the battery draining

    What about the other battery?

    Thanks for this vid, very helpful. Out of interest whats the worst that will happen if you dont leave a charger on when disconnecting the battery? I read something about needing a VAG COM cable to reprogram the Energy Management Control Module, or having to take it to a dealer ?

      Nothing that we can tell. We didn’t use a charger at all we just changed the battery.

      @2brokeurowners672 i meant the jumper pack for @2:05 to keep constant power? What if you dont do that

      @2brokeurowners672 so you need to reprogram the car for the new battery, or it wont charge it properly

      I believe all your monitors will be reset your radio stations will be reset and your key remote will lose its link with the car and will more than likely need to be reprogrammed to the car in order to use the remote functions. If you don’t have a jump pack just get a friend with jumper cables and hook them up to the same spot we hooked the jump pack to and proceed. I’m definitely not sure about the energy management control module. Part of me thinks that isn’t a US model feature and it may only be in other countries. I’ll get with the other cody and see what he says.

      The other cody agrees with me on everything I said.

    Hey guys,
    I have a 2009 3.0 CASA what's had a water damaged ECU.
    Was able to clone but I have a real big amp draw and a new battery drains insanely quick.
    Heard rumours of the battery control module, apparently it's "north of the negative terminal"
    I've had the carpet out, centre console out and the plastic board which the 150A fuses sit on but I can't find it, you got any idea?

      You always need to get the battery re-coded once a new one is installed on these big diesels

    • @hacwa
      @hacwa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brandonellis7696 you don't *need* to get them coded, it's ideal to do so if you want to ensure your batteries last as long as they can.
      I thought I was asking if you knew the location, doesn't matter, will keep looking.

    only use the triple squares.
    Dont use torx, they strip out and its hell extracting those seat bolts

      Yes we probably should have mentioned that as we have had to deal with triple squares that someone previously screwed up. Not a fun time!

    how much was your replacement battery ? and did you have to buy dealership recommended battery to use or you can go with any type that can be used ?

    • @2brokeurowners672
      @2brokeurowners672  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, this is the first time I've seen this comment. I apologize that it took this long ro respond.
      I believe it was $250, but has been a little while. You should be able to use just about any brand as long as it's powerful enough, fits, and has the same style connectors.
      But like mentioned in the video, these cars use a ton of power because of all of the electronics

    This has got to be the most dumbest location for a car battery….
