I just did this today. Very straightforward. A few suggestions - as someone else mentioned, you do not need to remove the long plastic trim pieces on the seat rails, just the small pieces from the back. Also, I found it much easier to remove and replace the carpet panel with the seat in the elevated angled position where you can look under and clearly see the tabs. So, unscrew the rails first and then tilt the seat back before removing the carpet panel. The only reason you need to remove the carpet panel is to give you more room to get the battery out.

Does the new battery need to be programmed into the ECU so it does not overcharge based on the old (worn out) battery demand?

Thanks for watching. Typically Audi's will need a registration process to take place. We would recommend you consult a mechanic for the proper registration process.

How come some q7 have the hose that attaches to the battery and some don't ? Mine doesn't have it either but most have it.

Hi - Thanks for watching! Batteries located in the passenger compartment must have a ventilation system to rout harmful battery gasses out of the vehicle. Your vehicle had one and really should be replaced.

@TheBatteryShop Hey thanks for the quick responses, I got the vent tube at the dealer and just installed it. Do you think it had anything to do with the battery draining, or not related?

Would it make a big difference if I just install a battery and be in my day instead of having to do the BMS Stuff?

Thanks for watching. Some vehicles need to go through a registration process after a battery change. We would recommend contacting your mechanic or dealer if your vehicle needs the registration. If it does need the registration and its not completed proper charging of the battery may not take place.

What battery size is the correct one?

    • @TheBatteryShop

Hi - Thanks for watching! We suggest that you check the vehicle owner's manual for the proper size battery for your particular vehicle.

Mostly correct. But it’s very hard to remove the plastic trim cover that covers the metal tracks. Especially the ones under the front of the seat. I did it and couldn’t put them back. It turned out there is no point of doing it. Just remove the two pieces in the back so that the seat can be tilted up.

Hi - Thanks for watching! A battery tester is usually attached to the "jump posts" under the hood. Professional battery testers have a setting for remote battery locations.

One reason is the battery works better in warm but not too hot temperature.
