THE DAMN THING FINALLY UPLOADED. I've been trying to upload this vid for well over a month but problems with TH-cam prevented this from getting near a fraction of completion. Something in my computer broke and I had to do a clean install of everything, and in restoring my backed-up files (nothing was lost - YAY!), I managed to finally get something through. Sadly I think this victory will be short-lived.
Anyhoo, I obtained an old laptop from the folks, which allows me to get video capture again. But the original recording had horrible audio de-syncing, but for the most part I was able to sync everything back together in editing.
Not exactly satisfied with my earlier Sega Bass Fishing video, I wanted to demonstrate in-game where a certain fish was. But because I can upload longer videos, I figured why not an entire playthrough ending with capturing a 30+ pounder? Looking back, it may seem a bit redundant, as the courses shown are the same ones that are over ten years old, and not showing anything really new in the Wii version other than the new menu interface and updated graphics. So people not familiar with the Wii version may not find something new, even though there are nearly twice as many stages as the Dreamcast version, and they fit perfectly well with the older material.
I thought I'd have the commentary filled with good stuff, only proving how much of a complete Sega nerd I really am. What was supposed to be about my favorite fishing game updated turned into talk about Shenmue and Virtual-On. Oh well.

Very nice video, they did made a great job updating this on the Wii, as you show. It's funny that you mention that you thought it'd be a lazy port at first, because that's exactly what I was expecting when this video started, haha.

What does that have to do with this game or Sega in general? Nothing, except for the fact that F-Zero GX is the one game wholly within a Nintendo franchise to be developed by a Sega studio.

Still a good game, but the biggest mistake they made when porting this game was replacing the announcer... this one doesn't have a pinch of charisma compared to the Dreamcast announcer
I know. I have both the DC and Wii versions but I can't bring myself to selling the DC version since I love that guy's voice so much. Not that I even play it anymore at all. Fuck, they shouldn't have changed the voice in the Wii update.

If only Big the Cat's Gameplay was like this. I played this first before ever playing Big's gameplay. It was terrible compared to this. Though, it would've made a lot more sense, if Big's "Fishing" gameplay was minigame based, rather than the main gameplay. And that his gameplay was similar to how it was in Sonic Heroes.

Something I find cool about this game is that it only plays in 4:3 it will just pillarbox if you put it on a widescreen TV.
How do you unlock the Sonic lure?
Not sure but either catch a 20lbs bass or complete tournament mode.

From what I can tell, the original announcer didn't work for Sega since 2000, but why didn't they bother to re-use the recordings? UNLESS; the new stages have new names and thus they needed a new person for the whole thing, since perhaps they couldn't reach him, whether they couldn't or he didn't want to come back, who knows.
Funny that Cavia only has one guy credited, and going by MobyGames, he also worked with SIMS on some SEGA AGES games on PS2.
And how does the XBLA version compare?

Wish they didn't change the voice actor. I have the Wii and DC version but can't bring myself to sell the DC one since I love the voice; not that I will ever even play it again.

Everytime I get a 9 or 11 pounder it breaks my line. Is there a drag I can set? I keep loosing them big ones.
