Lin piano playing is awesome technically and with so much feeling for anyone of any age especially his age. Such maturity. Never heard Brahms played so beautifully and I’m pushing 80 years old and taught piano for 50 years on many levels.

Such nuanced playing and wonderful colour range. He always starts from a near pp silence in all his playing. I´ve never heard the Brahms so convincing. Someone below called it mystical but I think this is the more the way that he conceives it. I suspect it would be something of a revelation to Brahms himself!

There's so much to admire about Yunchan's playing. Much as I love Brahms, for example, I have never heard it played so evocatively as here. This man is a true artist in that whatever he plays is so fresh and full of nuance that it's as if I'd never really heard it before. Let's just call it genius. Thank you, Yunchan, and all those in the background who brought this wonderful concert to us.

And if I may add to my own post, I think that Yunchan Lim is doing more to acquaint us all with the beautiful neglected music of, say, Scriabin, and even earlier composers/works that will now gain the deserved elevated place in our ongoing appreciation. Let alone, our experiencing his own joy and fun as Yunchan plays Beethoven here, for heaven's sake! These contributions to music give me such feelings of gratitude for the appearance of this incredible young man on the world stage. You, too?

@@valfriesen4861 we all eagerly & impatiently await Yunchan's contributions to classical music & hopefully beyond. Let's hope he doesn't get stuck like so many other professional pianists before him, and actually has the creativity & passion to progress beyond playing in cover bands.

@@christofthedead I believe that this young man demonstrates such devotion to presenting music as a reflection of the purest and most profound musical concepts that I doubt he could ever betray his obvious integrity. Believe!

The control, patience and introspection required for these mystical Brahms works were evident-he is so very mature in his musical age and his insight. Simply beautiful and so rarely played as an opus. The dynamics of this particular piano was well suited to the venue and works today. Interesting to observe Yunchan's shadow profile on the wall under Chopin's bust-not unlike. This was a far more assured, incisive and stunning Mendelssohn Fantasie than the recording he did of it at 14 or 15, which was pretty good. This audience became more settled for it after the Brahms. Yunchan is well suited to both Brahms' and Mendelssohn's works and I hope and pray to hear him record their concerti soonish. Fascinating pictorial rundown of some previous performers at the venue during the interval, though subtitles in English would have been nice. The Scriabin Sonata is a delight and I love the way Yunchan opens it up gradually. The brilliant Beethoven variations were, as I expected, delightful; full of stories, emotions, fun(the jongleur stick and ground base references!) and some pathos. And that gorgeous fugue!!! Yunchan's insight into Beethoven's piano music is, I am finding these days, becoming a revelation. The three encores were delicious. Well done Yunchan. Take good care of yourself and safe travels. Great quality download MM. Thank you for this lovely concert, Poland.

@@staffanolofsson8201Of course. Koreans love music very much. And Korean traditional instruments are melodically harmonically extraordinary and beautiful. Western classic is just one part of music that genetically phenominal Koreans wanna show off.
