hello! could you please help me? i'm thinking of buying this laptop so i decided to do my own research about the company gigabyte (cause i don't hear from them as often as i hear about asus, acer or lenova, for example. so i'm a bit doubting) i like the design of this laptop, it looks nice to me, not like the other gaming laptops with their aggressive designs. and it has good specs as well. and it has two years of warranty which is unusual i'd like to use this lap for video editing, photoshop, gaming (not on the daily basis) and internet surfing, of course and that's what i'd like to find out about this lap because there is no much information about it in reviews 1) is the screen of the lap good? are the colours good, bright enough? i mean it says it has ntsc 72% and some people say that it's enough for editing but some say that in this lap the screen is terrible and of bad quality. 2) is that really that loud even when you just watch youtube? that was another compain about this lap, people say that it's too loud which makes it hard to work on it, and it also becomes hot really fast which is bad. is this true? 3) what about the speakers? is the sound good when you watch movies or just listen to music? cause many people also say that speakers are terrible 4) also a lot of customers say that the quality of plastic is cheap and feels disgusting. what do you say about it? 5) and the last thing i would like to know many people who got this lap said that there could be some problems with OC because of the bios i'd really appreciate if you answer my questions, i know in the conclusion part you said that this lap is a good recommendation but still i'd want to clear some things out. thanks
HI Hilary, 1) The colours very vibrant. I use my laptop for editing and its excellent (slightly better than my PC). The screen also has excellent viewing angles IMO. 2) I put the Power Mode on Silent when watching TH-cam or Netflix etc. It's as quiet as a mouse in that mode. 3) The sound is certainly good enough (& loud enough) for watching TH-cam/videos. 4) The build quality feels fairly robust and solid to me. 5) I have never had the need to OC; so can't comment further on that. It's all going to come down to preference ; I'm more than happy with the Laptop, in all the various tasks I put it through - hope this helps!

@@pngs yes, i decided to take this risk and bought this lap x) i mainly use it for surfing the net, watch movies and study. and from time to time i play com games or edit smth. the speakers are quiet fine and loud enough, but only if the laptop is on the table, in any other situations i strongly recommend to use headphones. in gaming the lap is also fine, but it becomes warm pretty quickly which makes me worry every time i play. the battery is not the best, it lasts about 2.5-3 hours. but anyway the lap is fine it has fine parameters which was the best option for me back then. i'm okay with the lap i like the way it look and work (it's really fast). i hope i could help you

How about the fan noise i just got mine Its on silent mode but the fan starts at 41°c with 2100rpm its really annoying and i cant manually control it cause the ability to do that is locked
I don't personally notice the fan noise much when it's on silent/quiet mode, in fact, I can hardly hear it. If yours is running loud on silent mode, then you may have a faulty unit.
This is good stuff! I do have a question though. Since compared to other gaming laptops they have an option to configure better battery life or increased performance(something like a nitro 5) and choose between AC power or Battery power, does gigabyte provide the same thing?
@@theonly7084 I didn't but my friend got it and it lasts at max 4 hours when yr not gaming. If yr on the go tho and wanna game probably expect 1 hour 30 min of playtime with battery saver on. I will be getting a Dell G15 since it's an overall better laptop so do think about if u wanna prioritize perfermance over build quality. Cheers mate.
what about changing the settings to low to everything possible and i mean everything there is? Is there any chance playing longer than 1 hour? maybe 3 hours or so? *On the windows and in game settings* And whys it that you get lower performance when playing outplugged?
I mean technically you can tweak some things for longer battery life but you'd have to compromise on performance. you can set the CPU value plugged in to 50%, reduce the cores at startup, undervolt GPU, switch to opera browser (which is better optamized for battery consumption) and lower refresh rate to 60hz. by doing all this you can squeeze an extra couple of hours but for normal use not gaming.

The only thing i can find, are the Power Management Options: these are pretty much the defaults you'll find on most laptops, but you should be able to tweak them to save a bit of battery power.
Can this laptop handle stuff like fivem well and also it is currently going for 800 so do think that a good price cause I am getting this over gaming pic cause of the lack of space I can work with
can you run the steam free 3d mark time spy dx11 benchmark. not the extreme one. I got almost the same laptop but the a5 k1 with the 5800h cpu and the rtx 3060 and I got a gpu score of 9150 and a cpu score of 9155. Turn off demo with slider also takes more time to bench with it on. thx 😃😄😃

@@Huddison Well if you ever do let me know if you find a way to unlock it. because its very limited. I hear the XPG 15 or what ever its called, same laptop different brand, has a way better bios, but I read a few stories of people bricking thier laptop
depends on the bios version. if you have FB03/FB09 then you're fine because they're new and don't have any issues. but if your bios ranges from FBO4 TO FB07 then you're in no luck and probably need to update it. I believe there's a link in their website.

Afterburner may help you with that; I haven't actually looked into the matter too deeply.

I believe tgp is 105w also are you talking about mux switch? if so not it doesn't. you can only bypass with HDMI which connects to dGPU.

It doesn't fully optimize when unplugged (some special graphic setting or other isn't active). Any game will eat away at battery power, unfortunately.
i believe most laptop batteries have about 50 max wattage so the gpu and cpu are both running on minimal clocks

It's ok for 1080p MSFS, but I would advise sticking to your Series X as it offers much higher resolution possibilities.

I would estimate 40 FPS with Mid-high settings at 1080p - only an estimation though.

I have the same laptop but for some reason even with a cooler, clean fan and with the thermal paste changed the temps still reach 90 - 100 degrees
