Danny absolutely went off on the drums and with his set! He did not disappoint!

Each appendage has its own brain.... The Octopus.... 4 different time signatures.... the whole song.... great reaction...
I can nod my head to this easy. The trick is to just listen to it for about... 20 years
If you love Tool you'll love Rush, Danny's favorite drummer played in this band.
Danny plays the drums like rolling thunder... Then lightning
Thanks Paul, for introducing Xanny to Tool :)
And just think, Danny is in his 60s, Maynard is the youngest being early 60s. Age has no barriers for these 4.
Danny is one of the greatest percussionists alive today, man. He inspired me to learn how to play. You're right, what he does is not easy to do, but he makes it look easy. That's a sign of a true pro. He's an incredible drummer, and I'd argue he's the backbone of Tool. I think a lot of their music is written to play around his drumming, when it's the other way around with most bands. Great reaction to a great video, bro. Thumbs up!
Glad to have you here with us brother. Enjoy the ride….
Danny also plays in a jazz band. Usually at the "Baked Potato" in Cali.
TOOL..... 3 Aliens and an octopus form a band..... Danny definitely has to be part octopus.
All true artists
"7empest" and "Ticks and Leeches" next please. Or actually "The Grudge" and "Eulogy". Well any Tool song really :)
Hes a percussion God plain n simple😊
"TOOL - Stinkfist Front Row Live Atlantic City" This is a good one to check out!!
A Tool show is fucking hype, beginning to end.
Danny is a machine
The time in the verse is a phrase of 33. You can break that down to 6-6-5-6-5-5 (easier to count IMO) or 12-11-10.
Oh, and there’s no click track in their ears. They just go out and crush it every night.
TOOL expanding your mind here I like it! lol
Just another Tuesday for Danny.. ;)
Danny Carey is dialed in, bro!
Right in Two, next!
Danny plays the mushrooms like they were drums.
😂 100% bro
And btw, Danny is almost 60 years old in this performance!
I love watching a truly intelligent person viewing and listening to TOOL. Thank you!
I was there. It was my 6th Tool show and my wife’s 1st. I told her to pay attention to Danny. It’s always something special witnessing all them. But you can feel the percussion throughout your entire body.
Danny is awesome! He truly should be recognized as one of the greatest drummers!
Dude is 62 years old right now. 59 years old (3 years ago so most likely) at the time of this video. He's a MONSTER.
Now you realize why Danny "the Octopus" Carey is the God of all things Drums & Percussion
He could do more if he had more arms and legs......... seriously I want to see a brain scan of this guy when he plays this!!! I bet he is all lit UP!!!
Imagine how good he will be when he figures out how to grip a drumstick with his penis!
That was just ONE song! Imagine how he feels after a full concert! Great reaction as always, and genuinely happy you’re enjoying your journey!
Pass along my thanks to Paul! 😎
I enjoyed when you commended Danny for keeping rhythm... Do you realize that he's the main driver of the crazy odd time signatures? Adam Jones (guitar) has said the reason he and Justin Chancellor (bass) don't move around the stage or jam out much is they're "too busy counting." 😂
Spamming "Right in Two", there, it's that one :D great video, thanks!
Danny Carey is an outstanding percussionist, not just drummer. The mathematical tempo the band follows with each of their albums brings you consistent tempo changes. He is able to keep four limbs working….each with a different time sequence. He is absolutely ridiculous
I've been listening to tool now for like 25 years, and when I started I was always trying to find the groove to bop my head as well. I gave up, haha. Now I just wiggle around like an octopus without giving a crap.
I knew you'd enjoy this video. Danny is definitely a machine....especially when you realise he's 62 years old and still crushing it!
Danny is 6'5" and he's 62 years old. Fuckin maniac
Danny was 59 years old when this was filmed!
The purple hummung bird part where he free solos, the thing that's most impressive is when you realize he has a different time signature for EACH LIMB. The Octopus is the best alive
You have to check out "Tool - Sober Live (Pro Shot) Remastered" recorded at Reading Festival 1993. The video is old and in poor quality, but the performance is amazing. Highly popular reaction video. 👋
what's amazing is during that sequence his right foot is on the high hat, left foot on the bass pedal, and each arm is playing a different sequence, all while adding an extra note to each hand after a few cycles. 4 limbs, 4 different rythyms. Impossible right? nope not for the octopus. Danny is the GOAT
Top 3 danny reactions of all time! Awesome stuff..
THE ; greatest drummer and thats not to say that this man is an awesome human
I love how all the craziness of this long song.. at the end he just goes tink tink on the symbols and gently puts his sticks down on the drum and then pushes his hair out of his face. ....legend!
That tink tink, believe it or not is. Just the drum stick backwards and he taps the rim of the drum
@@JohnMeyer-b9p no, I'm talking about that tink tink, the last two hits of the two symbols before he puts his drumstick down and fixes his hair..just epic end to such an explosive performance.
So glad you're keeping this up and you are definitely spiraling out!!!!!
The craziest thing about Tool to me is that they don't play live, or record their albums, to a click track. It's all natural baby!
Not sure if it's been stated but Danny, Adam and Justin all finish their parts then send it to Maynard and he then writes the lyrics.
TooL brings it home like nobody else. Past. Present. Future. They are the musical unicorn.
It might take your ear a few times to catch on. But they set the hook. And once you’re hooked you know.
They always deliver.
I was in the 4th row, center, at this show. So amazing.
Danny plays "Poly rhythms" throughout this track, and entire album (different rhythm with each limb!)
He is an Alien 👽
That dude is 60 years old. OG Beast Mode!
Reactions like yours is awesome I been tool fan since 1994 and am excited for this new wave of fans just explode .. Tool deserves that and you do to
I am an admitted Tool Homer. So I love watching these reaction videos. As someone who knows nothing about the technical aspects, all I can say is Tool is what I must imagine it was like to experience Zeppelin for the first time. From a Classic/Progressive Rock view I suppose, but still.
Yours was my favorite reaction, immediate follow! 😂
Danny = 🐙
It’s always trips me out (in a good way), after listening to this band for 32 years, to see people still connecting with Tool. Your boy Paul deserves a thank you and a pint for putting you down this rabbit hole. There’s going to come a point when you realize that tool legitimately doesn’t miss. Every song is legit.
Danny was already like almost 60 years old when this was filmed 🥶
I've been waiting for you to do this video. I came across TOOL and Danny in the early '90s, changed my drumming forever.
And Danny is over 60 years old the GOAT
The TOOL rabbit hole goes deep!
He's the metronome of the band
You could totally fit a drum set in that room you’re in 😉
My favorite drummer of my favorite band. Tool is touring soon, go see them!
My drum kit watches this when I’m not home.
Danny is one of the GOATS!!! I’m 45 years old and grew up on Tool. I first seen them in 1992 and I was hooked. Favorite Tool song is Opiate
There is no other band like this one.
XANNY... I think someone needs to tell you something about this particular band...the band is insane, did you know that the lyrics are written by Maynard after, try wrapping your head around this, after the music is written... Vicarious is by far my favourite track...it's about everyone having a fascination with death...but it is so eloquently written, it makes the whole idea of death seem absolutely beautiful. You just received a new subber brother.
The rabbit hole you just jumped into will be impossible to exit...and that is a good thing. Enjoy.
Saw them twice on the 10,000 Days tour...Got tossed between mosh pits for a couple hours, lost all my friends in the chaos...Tool shows are something else. I felt bad that I brought one of my friends to his first concert and brought him to Tool...poor guy had no idea what he was in for.
I'm stealing this from someone else. "Every band member has a solo. They just play them all at once."
Danny isn't catching up to the sequences; he's leading them.
I remember the feeling I had when I first heard Tool. I still have that same feeling today when I listen to their music
It's the best song ever created
Danny Carey 6ft 5" can you believe this guy is over 60 and plays like that. He could do more if he had more arms and legs........ wanna see a brain scan while he plays. I love watching people discover this and watching the tops of their heads explode.
Danny gets a great workout from these shows, just look at those arms! he is amazing live!
danny is the best i have ever seen
TOOL membership requires Genius! 👏😉👍✌️🙏❣️
There are lyrics in Lateralus that say..."Overthinking, over analyzing, separates the body from the mind. Withering our intuition leaving opportunities behind." Think about what that means the next time you go in and listen to TOOL.
One ToOl Army rule, don't ever get caught trying to head bop! 😂😂😂 You can see all the people trying at concerts, it's hilarious.
Having been to a show of theirs in daytona beach florida, every single time danny hits that kick drum, every cell in your body vibrates. The guitar feels like electricity in your nerves, and the drums literally feel like they shake the earth. It's fucking wild
Shout out to Paul for introducing you to Tool…love your reactions…as a percussionist with roots in world percussion, polyrhythms are my language 😊…(btw, Danny is in his 60s)
Xanny, notice Danny's posture! Strong core!! Most drummers do Not have his posture!!
The 1st thing I noticed was Danny's posture (about 500 views ago) Actually I first watched this like 3 years ago.
Some of the best posture I've ever seen is with the best drummers.
It's a golden ticket for sure.
I've only seen one mention of it in all reactions I've watched.
Peace Love Joy and Abundant Prosperity and long life Danny Tool you your family tool army, and All else.
Creator Reigns
Be Grateful
Legend goes that Danny Carey made a deal with the devil. We don't know what Danny got from the deal but the devil got drum lessons
Best band period
All Members of the Band are great and contribute, but Danny is a Master Musician
He’s a fuckin Octopus
I was at that concert and then saw them again in Boston last year and will be seeing them again back in Boston on November 15th. Danny is a true G.O.A.T 🐐 and TOOL is amazing to see live, hope you get the chance to see them.
Fantastic reaction!!!!
Anyone has to listen a few times to be prepared and fully take it all in.
Really great reaction video. What a fun watch.
You dont find Tool. They find you!
I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS TO TOOL!! Definitely a subscribe.❤🤘😁🤘
Glad you’re enjoying the Tool journey. Next up please take a look at Hush by Tool. Short song with a simple message. Short songs are unusual for tool also lol.
Record your TOOL convos with your boy Paul. We would watch that too. 😂
Awesome reaction Dude, you get it .
YupYup!
You haven't and you will continue to not encounter a band with a better catalog of music, let alone better "outros." TOOL is their own genre. Enjoy the ride my friend. Love your enthusiasm. You want to hear TOOL at their ultimate best? Listen to, "Pushit," from the album, "Salival." The album is a collection of live tracks that was put out at a time when TOOL fans were hungry or, "salivating," for a new TOOL release so the band put together some live recordings, hence the album title: "Salival." Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the Salival version of Pushit. The song has 3 crescendos and Maynard really lets loose on vocals. It's an amazing song .
Spiral out, keep going.
Tool is their own category. However, if you want to see the video all metal songs are measured by, it’s “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due” by Megadeth. Lead singer was kicked out of Metallica back in the day! Must watch, trust me!!
many people thought that these were electric made noises. but it was him
Danny keeps the rhythm because he wrote the rhythm
Funny enough that smile at the end was because he messed up but it was so quick you don't even notice it 😂
It’s a testament to how many times I’ve watched this Pneuma video that I could tell the reaction was out of sync with the source by exactly one bar during that amazing interlude. Decent editing job to work around them ads too!
Outstanding video and honest reaction! Please keep up the good content! Best of luck!
Danny isn’t keeping up with the changes, he is driving the bus. Everything else is behind him.
WOOOOO! LETSSSS GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your Tool reactions, but I kinda wished you had listened to the studio version first. Keep up the entertainment my dude!
I guess Tempest is next
