THIS IS THE FINISHED PRODUCT.
I should note that the both of us DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SHIPPING OF THE MANE 6 with each other. Honestly we can't see any of them being with each other and think it's weird in general. Because they are shown to be great friends, none of it is romantic and we can't think of them as being anything other than friends. But with our animatics, we want to keep the casting mainly around the mane6, and with all the romantic songs it was inevitable that there would be pairings. So mentally they aren't Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, to us, they are Edmund Dashie and Shycedes.
This one took forever to finish, not only is it coloured in, but we stupidly decided to shade the pictures too... It practically killed my computer to render and export it too, add that to the list of why we don't like colouring the animatics.
Anyway, continuing on from the last Monte Cristo animatic; Edmund Dashie has been betrayed by his friend Twilight Monsparkle and thrown in jail. Shycedes doesn't know of the betrayal and is hopeful that he will be released soon and awaits for his return. So they sing their love for each other while they wait.

It's kind of sad, knowing that Dante in this song, or after, living out the rest of his days in basic isolation, away from his lover. When he DID finally get out, he's super old and rich. But he's super jaded and cynical. It's sad.
He got out in his mid-thirties so that's not completely old, haha. Obviously the point you're making is completely true :)

Me when I watch Hamilton crossover shipping and other stuff like this. This song and the animation is gorgeous tho. I respect the shipping, so I’m just looking at how the characters are presented.
i'm 18 now, I can't describe how much joy and happiness this used to bring me as a child, watching this over and over again. I still know all the lyric's off by heart. Im going to into animation college and and looking for inspiration remembered this series. Its just so beautifully and I appreciate all the work and effort that went into this. I wish I could meet the people behind who made this so I could thank them personally, Thank you ❤️

Maximus W Its common in cartoons for gaps to be too big to trap characters, but they do anyway.
MoonCrest 113 It's so the bars don't obscure the facial expressions or distract from the characters, as well as take some weight off the animators having to draw shadows produced by intricate grating structures.

Sometimes I forget RD is a girl because of these XD
It legit took me seeing Rarity dress RD in that frou-frou gown in the Parasprites episode for me to finally get it through my head that she's a "grown-up tomboy/girl jock" and _NOT_ the token guy character of the Mane Six.
To this day, I still think she's the most masculine of any of the major recurring cast members, which is quite a feat, considering she'd be outgunning every other Wonderbolt, Spike, Discord, Shining Armor, Flash Sentry, Thorax, Cheese Sandwich...
...okay, concession on that last one. Cheese wins that match-up usually, but RD could _still_ outperform him if she really wanted to.

Such a well done production. It does justice to the source material (and has quite possibly ensured that I will always picture this whenever I hear this song). Stallionized Edmond Dashie works shockingly well, as does Shycedes. It does crack me up though to see how many people are saying one thing or the other about the shipping that's supposedly happening; folks, read the description for some clarity. Please.

What a pair of eyelashes can do to a character!!! Even if I know who Dashie is, without eyelashes and with that voice all I can do is to keep follow the music all over.

This musical actually hasn't been released to Broadway yet. In fact, what you're hearing is currently the only official English rendition of the song; the production has been done in Switzerland, Korea, and Japan, but has been yet to be done in English. The premiere of the English version of this musical is going to be at Brigham Young University in Utah on January 2015. I REAAALY want to attend, but plane + hotel costs are probably gonna be killer.

I must say this is just simply amazing! The music is just so powerful especially those vocals. Ever since I've seen this these have become my favourite songs of all time. not only that though but the animatic that comes with it does an amazing job of telling the story and showing the characters feelings during the whole thing. It compliments the vocals very well and overall makes an amazing experience to watch. This is probably my favourite mlp fan work along with all of the others from the series.

This animatic is purely fantastic, especially the shading, well done! After watching the movie, I hope to one day see this musical in person to truly appreciate its beauty. I would personally recommend any of Alexandre Dumas novels, The Count of Montecristo has been my favourite since I read it at 14 and his other novels just made want to be a writer myself
The movie isn’t even really an adaptation of the book. They changed everything about it. It’s fun for what it is but need to read the book

This series is a classic for me, I remember being in 3rd or 4th grade watching this series and eventually waiting for each part, and now I’m a senior in school and this vid is 9 yrs old. How the time flies. I remember rewinding a bunch when Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash burst from the clouds. I always that that part was beautiful. The shot, the high notes, everything in that shot just floored child me. Funny enough I had no idea there was finally a part 6 till yesterday and part 6.5. Those were both excellent surprises. This series has always been amazing, songs great, and drawings a true spectacle! Good job InkPotts and team! You all really made something that is beloved forever

Well the singers are the ones from the actual musical, we just bought the music off iTunes and used that. We don't have voice actors/singers,

I have this song downloaded onto my iPod. It has become one of my favourite songs of all time, and I never would have found it if it wasn't for you. Thank you. But, with this song, I managed to impress even myself by playing the song through my speakers and somehow managing to perfectly sync it with the video.
