I'm thinking to myself, in terms of the consistency of the songs on this album, is this one of the better albums or the best they've wrote in 30 years? It beats Hardwired for me, I see myself going cover to cover more with this that it's predecessor. Death Magnetic is close, though and while I enjoy a few here and there from the Load/Reload era, its not close which, minus St. Anger, takes us back to the Black Album.
I love Robert, I honestly credit him for helping save Metallica after their lowest point in their career during the St. Anger era (I loved St. Anger btw). I think Rob helping encourage them to return to their roots from Death Magnetic forward, I remember hearing that he's responsible for Metallica playing songs live that they haven't played in years like "Call Of Cthulu". Rob is just a down to earth dude, such a loveable personality and he's a freaking beast on the bass! My love for Metallica will never die!
He absolutely saved the band. They needed someone as energized, affable and easygoing as him. He's the right personality. And he's become Kirk's bestie in the band, which offers an additional healthy dynamic. Without Rob, there is no Metallica.
Man, I started this journey with you with Hardwired and I've been following you over the years since then. And we are here again, with another album to listen. I'm waiting impatienly to see your reaction of Inamorata. It's probably one of the best songs they've put out since the Black Album. You will be absolutely mind blowed. Love your reactions, and LONG LIVE METALLICA.
sorry but I don't think so..the album is very bland. all the riffs looks the same. lars drums part could be interchanged in each song, Kirk lazy busy as always and James is boring with his "ouuuuueeee".. After listening 72 I listened the black album and it hurt ...it really hurt. More sound, better production, better melody, everything is better...
@Jesse Pinkman totally agree! It remains me st anger with its monotony, production and the lake of melody… so boring. Hardwired is better in all the aspects. When I listened moth into flame I was “wow” ! I immediately recognised what I like with this band: power, catchy riff, melody and good chorus. 72 season is too pretentious.
@user-gk3nn9ko7l I'm the opposite. The first 6 songs of Hardwired carry the whole album (still good but ManUnkind and Moth get boring after a while) while this is quite a diversified album if you catch all the references of every album in there. To me this is overall better

Dude, I've been a fan since Kill 'Em All, and many great albums and songs since, and a few so-so albums, even on some of their not-so-great albums, there are always a few songs that are at least good enough to hear again...this, is fucking incredible! THIS, belongs in the pantheon of best Metallica tracks ever, truly...the riffs, the lyricism, Lars has learned how to calm the fuck down a bit and just chop some wood and create a pocket, Kirk manages his wah pedal and focuses on the solo, can actually hear Trujillo holding down the low end...so damn good!
I see your relations from the Hardwire, I have waited for this for a long time. I am eager to accompany you on the journey of this album that will give you many surprises.
Watched your Hard Wired reaction videos back in 2016 when I was bed ridden for a month from an accident . I really enjoyed watching them back then. One of my 2 favorite songs from the 72 Seasons album. It electrifies my body and mind. It is a very addictive song through the rhythm and differences in speed. And when that triggers gets F. loose the speed of the music takes over your body and soul.
I listened the whole album today and I could say even now after one listening that 72 seasons is better album than hardwired which is great album too of course. I am Metallica fan since 1992 and I can say these guys still kick ass even in their 60s. Great reaction, continue listening and reacting bro 😂

And I like how you put that tidbit in towards the end about the blistering solos and such during these newer songs as compared to when they was thrashing in their younger days, lot of haters need to understand that 😁 I love this album, literally have jammed on it all day!!
I don't get why people say after a few listens that it's disappointing or that you don't feel the songs. Give it more time, listen to the songs several times over a longer period of time and then come back. Most tracks are longer than 5 minutes, consist of multiple riffs, tempo changes, etc. In my opinion, that requires several listening sessions.
I listened to this album and this whole entire album is a piece of complete shit and it is the first album from Metallica to say that. They need to retire because this is the beginning of the end for them.

Great videos and reaction as always dude! But I think you’re overthinking Lars’ use of the snare. Especially in that part. It’s a buildup and works perfectly. As a working drummer myself I think it’s perfectly done. 🤘
Its a dense, lengthy album that I think feels longer than it is due to the songs all sounding quite samey and familiar. If you look at Hardwired, the first disc has 6 great songs, all different to oneanother, with pacings, dynamics, musical departures and tangents. I hate saying this, but at least for now, a lot of the new album lacks this range. Overlong songs, sadly hampered by Kirk playing the same wah wah solo in each one. I really like some parts here and there, and I think its going to be a grower overall.

like i said in my previous comment, in your previous reaction, Metallica will release the catch, groovy, as singles... and release the heavier, groovier songs later... not as fast and as heavy as their classic albums, but it's fast and groovy! check out Too Far Gone and Room of Mirrors... amazing!!!
The audio on this video is throwing my equilibrium off, the volume goes in and out rapidly like you're turning the volume knob up and down rapidly. Love your full album reactions, it's just kinda hard to get through this video because of the audio.
When I recorded my videos, my audio was too loud so I had to balance it out and what you are explaining is the cause of the edit. The plus side is the song is louder so people can hear what I’m reacting to.

This one reminds me of Breadfan, and the beginning of the solo, right before the harmonies, is so Battery.
Man I loved the riffs in this song + harmonized bit that sounded like Battery in the bridge + the tribute to Damage Case
