Hey Chris, that cart is famous for their Rice Noodles! It's freshly made and very cheap. It's typically eaten for breakfast and served with a sweet soy sauce but carts usually add hot sauce or even peanut sauce. Also, the shrimp is divided into two options because one is dried shrimp(the tiny dried little shrimps) and regular shrimp. Enjoy!
Very common Cantonese street and dim sum food. It's a rice noodle steamed with sweet soy sauce and you can add chili paste/sauce as well. My family and I usually get it with shrimp. Hope you liked it!
Thank you so much for uploading. Cause I am a Japanese who was the only Japanese student at my school in Brooklyn, and in NYC only in 85 and 86. Could not speak English so well. No internet of course. Sometimes came here to buy fried rice which was 6$. Very few and pretty expensive Japanese restaurants in the 80's, even in NYC. Ramen anywhere like nowadays, no way when I was in NYC. By the way I used to live in China also, Chongqing for about two years. They know so much about any kinds of foods. More than we Japanese, probably. I personally love to travel to Hong Kong. Been there several times. Hong Kong or Italy if in EU, or might be we Japan. These are best places to eat and drink, I think.
Chinatown version of street food are BBQ shops, rice box with sausage or char siu with side of vegetables. Slightly more expensive than a hotdog, it gets one much fuller.
They come out during the San Genaro feast which is held on Mott Street Chris. Chinatown was never known for having food carts, especially on Mott Street. Goes back to when I hung out in the area as a teenager.
There used to be vendors along canal and Lafayette st and centre st. There were also a bunch of vendors on east broadway. But they are all gone. This one vendor on the north side of canal and Bayard had the best lo mein and fried chicken for $2 total back in the day.
I would have tried the BBQ pork off that truck! that looked fresh and nice amount of spicy chili oil. I am surprised there are not more carts out, always plenty of trucks and carts out in Flushing, I prefer Flushing. So much good food in Flushing.
Good one , I was hungry for a bad ass dog ! great video ! LFG bro okay that food looked good healthy in stead of a hotdog ! Stay Healthy bro.. they say eating a hotdog takes 2 days off your life span ..IDK
Nice walking tour of Chinatown! I was expecting to see more food, but I guess you have to eat at the restaurants. I lived in NYC in the 1970s and 1980s, but didn't frequent Chinatown. I would meet my visiting Toronto friends for lunch in Chinatown. I am Chinese, btw. LOL
It makes sense there wouldn't be much of a market for food carts in China Town. The local residents sure aren't going to be eating hotdogs/halal etc since there's already cheap chinese food available everywhere and they are making their own food from the street vendors goods as well. And then the tourists are down there to get Chinese food not standard cart stuff. There's just no demand in that area as opposed to the financial district or midtown.
The closest thing to a hot dog would be going to a chinese bakery and getting a hot dog bun which is a hot dog stuff inside a chinese baked bun or versions of it. What you ate is basically a chinese style breakfast rice roll bowl.
i love fresh rice rolls! i prefer a plain one with just a bit of sweet soy sauce. there are hole in the walls that make them. look up reviews for west rice roll king on google and there's a video of someone showing how it's made.
I know my question isn't really food related but I'm noticing not a single person in the background was smoking or vaping, is it banned in that city or have people just stopped doing that? Its rather refreshing to see, I hate walking down a street and everyone is smoking
You know what's funny you on Friday any hot dog stands on canal Street walking up to my there is no hot sun stands vendors over there the only thing you see on canal Street walking up to Matt and walking up to canal is guys selling purses and all the knockoffs so I'm surprised you found someone that was selling but usually you won't sell anybody selling any fast food
To be completely honest....I still have no clue what I ate. 😂

Damn, my man is trying to look like a princess for us and you diss him like that? Disrespectful.
I haven’t gotten notifications for your videos in months until today
Chinatown version of street food are BBQ shops, rice box with sausage or char siu with side of vegetables. Slightly more expensive than a hotdog, it gets one much fuller.
All it needed was the sauerkraut and onions 😂😂
Love hot dogs but if you’re in Chinatown and not in a hurry it’s stupid to buy a hotdog unless if the person doesn’t like Asian food
They come out during the San Genaro feast which is held on Mott Street Chris. Chinatown was never known for having food carts, especially on Mott Street. Goes back to when I hung out in the area as a teenager.
Nothing like Chinatown during a heat wave!!!
Hey Chris! This video was a cool change-up. Now back to the NYC dogs! Love this channel brother.
There should be one on Grand and Bowery also. But things have definitely changed.
“Im hoping that’s chicken?” As soon as i saw the menu, you just said it. 😂 totally cracking up!!!
You have to go to Chris's red hots in Newark n j
I used to get the $1 hot dogs on canal where the movie theater/bus to Boston used to be
You need to try holy cow the next time you’re on canal

I was falling for the time elapsed at first hahah 😂
25 years ago, ton of food cart. But they all gone now. Meat sticks vendor mostly flushing now, after 5pm.
That was the first cart I thought of once you said you were going for food cart on the street.
I moved out of NYC over ten years ago but there used to be a lot of food carts around bowery and grand.
Never be afraid to ask questions, Chris.... especially when it comes to food!!
Great Video Chris, No Matter What Part Of The City Your In, You Make Top Notch Videos. And We ALL Enjoy Them. Time For A Hotdog? Cool.

Bruh ... bbq pork hell ya !!! 💥
Holy shit, I worked on the Sea Wolf back in the 80s. Good memories, thanks for showing that
Get outta here!!!!!!
That looked great; I'd probably want to try it with pork, but beef seems good too. Was there any garlic in there?
Something about your videos motivates me a lot!!! Thank you.

Love you brother ! Nice for an excuse to hit CHINATOWN ! Stay cool ✌🏻✌🏻
Cool tour Chris.
Glad to see you try something new♥️🙏😋
food carts haven't been there for a while. How do you just walk right by Wo Hop or many of the cheap dumpling/pancake shops?? Sounds so good
Those are staples of China Town. I was looking mostly for carts.
@@NYCHotDogStands Sure, I get it. Would be cool to go into a few tiny/hole in the wall type places too. I'm sure they'd get views.

Go to Bo Ky on Bayard street across from Columbus Park.
You definitely got enough steps in to have burned off the calories of two of those

Man wears white shirt to sample saucy and spicy beef roll. $3.50 meal and $10.00 dry cleaning bill.
$3.50 for a nice hot soup / meal is a great deal !
Dry shrimp or fresh shrimp that is what they mean
Love the videos.
Back waxing ? 😱 🤣
We are over due for a Chris & Chris’ Red Hots (Verona or Newark NJ). No questions asked
I know. Need to take a day off or something.
Best deal in Chinatown: $7 haircuts.
Very true
That haircut will only take 5 minutes. And you can only choose from like 5 hairstyles.
B for berry good
You want a real "Hot Dog", try Taiwan. I hear they take their hot dog making process to the next level.
You are a gambling man my friend ! Haha 😉
@4:42 That’s what she said!

$3.50? Seems like a good deal
Lol 9 hrs 25 min
Pretty brave wearing white and eating Chinese food!
Living on the edge.
Do the Chinese not do hot dogs?
Um-the cart got a ""B"" rating from the health Dept... ""B" is not "A"" eat at own risk lol
NYC garbage stained sidewalks in the hot summer air makes you gag instantly.
Why do you think there is No Hot Dog stands in China Town or something similar?
Lol 12 days hahhaha
This vid def street vibe
Gets a pass .... glad you survived .....
Do people eat rats in New York
