I don't think I have used the Pendolino yet, but there are other express trains on offer that, last time I checked, could make the trip in 2 h 20 min.
They are very nice but in general I'm not very fond of long-distance trains that do NOT have compartments. There are many reasons for that. I noticed there is a partial return to compartments on some Swiss and German trains.
I am sure many would not like to travel face to face with passengers they don't know for an extended period of time. Traveling in a compartment with people you don't know can be a torture.
291km/181miles taking 2hr 45mins, that's like an average speed of 67mph (105kph). Is that RAIL Line a dedicated HSL or mixed us. I travelled on Frances TGV and the Spanish equivalent a similar distance would take like 75 mins max and have just 1 or 2 stops. Just out of curiosity how many stops did this route have.
The quickest connection right now is about 2:30 hrs. It was and is supposed to come down to under 2 hours (likely around 1:50 hrs) eventually but the modernisation of stations along the way is mostly what's stalling it and (plus just the overall laxed attitude towards timeframes demonstrated by the track management company PLK). This line will remain a mixed use line and Poland is planning to build a separate HSL, however it is progressing extremely slowly. It is absolutely true though that the train is very comfortable and it's a joy to ride.
This looks like a great value for money! I find it such a shame that, for a flagship train, 1st Class doesn't seem to have a very premium feel at all. But for the price I guess you cannot complain, right? Awesome video :)
First class is basically for the MPs not to have to seat with the common folk (they get free tickets), nobody in their right mind pays extra for first class on those unless 2nd is fully booked. The 2nd class is way too nice and, as many have noted, the first is really not all that much of an upgrade...
@@JeremiCzarnecki Well... First class have 1+2 seating, some complimentary food and drinks and you can order food and have it served at your seat by the staff. I have only been to Poland once, about two months ago amd then I took the IEP from Gdansk to Katowice to meet two young refugees from Ukraine. I was very pleased with the experiance, and I don't think ther where that many MP:s in first class - probarbly none. Going home we took regular IC trains to Swinoujscie which was quite a different experiene, but OK considering the sitiation - the train was overloaded with refugees. Thomas from Stockholm
You can order food to your seat in 2nd class as well, not sure if 2nd class still gets coffee and tea but they used to. The only difference is 2+1 seating really. There are 460 MPs who travel constantly. Rarely do I take an EIP without at least one on board.
Pendolino only looks and feels good but its not good for price to performance ratio. I live in Kraków and i often travel to Warsaw. It takes 2H 30 min for the journey and cost 169zl usually. Go on a normal IC and it will take 3H10min for the same route for 70zl. Would only recommend Pendolino you travel from Krakow to Gdansk since its a much longer route. I always prefer IC over pendolino and hate TLK which just sucks.
Polish PESA Darts are more awesome I think. With Pendolino there was a lot of bad reputation here in Poland, first they were very problematic and faulty. Later there was lack of comforts in them like wifi, charging ports etc. Now after fixing they are OK, but for the cost of traveling sometimes it's better to take second class like with PESA Dart or older ones.
I disagree, arrangement of the seats in Dart is a nightmare! I've travelled once by Dart and whole cart was looking at me, the privacy is non existent there. But about pendolino - it is masterpiece of comfy travelling (aspecially in silent zone).
We visited Poland a few years ago.The lady we stayed with took us to Warsaw and on a standard inter city train,We had to buy refreshments to take with us because there wasn't a buffet car on the train,But there was a trolley service for the first half hour of the journey! The train coaches where from the 1960 going by the style
as a pole i wanna note some things if someone wanna ask here in the video you have the most expensive option which is this pendolino in 1st class (which is very good, but its so expensive - its above 200 zł (50$ i guess, but remember its poland and i compare to polish salaries, in usa you earn more, so that its expensive for us, normal train ticket costs 50 zł in 2nd class (also warsaw-kraków)) also those pendolino trains are between huge cities like kraków, gdańsk or warsaw normal trains are ok i would say, intercity (ic) are very nice and quite cheap, tlk trains are also good, but they usually dont have access to power so you cant use laptop what kinda sucks (intercity have power) there is only 1 big minus - trains are usually delayed
✋ Extra, good job 👏👌 Wow nice view, I like to see new places ✌ Great movie 👍 Bravo 👋 And I have a new movie from a walk around the city 😊 Regards, DJ Janusz from Warsaw Poland ✌ 🇵🇱✋
Actually, the upgrade is delayed till 2025... I mean, I don't blame them. They want to keep the railway traffic flowing during the upgrading, because otherwise other railway lines would jam up.

Track work, I think!
What happened to Warsaw's classic old station? Was it destroyed during WWII?
"Classic old station" did not exist before IIWW.

as Ryszard already said - the prewar station was actually brand new when was destroyed

Well done 👍
I travel today to gdansk to katowice urghh it’s soo far. The weather is hot today, no aircon in 2nd class train.
Must have been a TLK 😄
Fantastic 👍
291km/181miles taking 2hr 45mins, that's like an average speed of 67mph (105kph).
Is that RAIL Line a dedicated HSL or mixed us. I travelled on Frances TGV and the Spanish equivalent a similar distance would take like 75 mins max and have just 1 or 2 stops. Just out of curiosity how many stops did this route have.
Mixed use, quite a few stops
The quickest connection right now is about 2:30 hrs. It was and is supposed to come down to under 2 hours (likely around 1:50 hrs) eventually but the modernisation of stations along the way is mostly what's stalling it and (plus just the overall laxed attitude towards timeframes demonstrated by the track management company PLK). This line will remain a mixed use line and Poland is planning to build a separate HSL, however it is progressing extremely slowly. It is absolutely true though that the train is very comfortable and it's a joy to ride.
For class 2 as a collage student the tickets are 51% off
Thank you,. PLN Soon!
In summer i request to make a trip report to Hel
I've been to hel!
@@NonstopEurotrip POLREGIO or PKP?
@@elboberinho Helsinki 😝
This looks like a great value for money! I find it such a shame that, for a flagship train, 1st Class doesn't seem to have a very premium feel at all. But for the price I guess you cannot complain, right?
Awesome video :)
I never complain 😝
@@NonstopEurotrip no, as a Frenchman that is my role hehe
I agree, I love a full WARS 🤩
Quick and dirty trip!
😂😂😂
I like the music what is the name of the artist ?
It's from the TH-cam audio library
@@NonstopEurotrip Oh right ok well I like it anyway.
I will try soon 😃
I disagree, arrangement of the seats in Dart is a nightmare! I've travelled once by Dart and whole cart was looking at me, the privacy is non existent there. But about pendolino - it is masterpiece of comfy travelling (aspecially in silent zone).
Nie trolluj funboyu Pesy.
Isn't it opposite?
Hi Eurotrip! I couldn't find anything online about the complementary brioche served in fist class. Do you know if it is still available?
They do change the complimentary menu around, but there's always 3 options Inc vegetarian 😎
@@NonstopEurotrip Thank you for the fast response, if everything goes according to plan I will be able to ride this first class service in a month.
Amazing video, i enjoyed it! I love train vlogs
Poland 🇵🇱💕💕💕💪
😍😍😍
We visited Poland a few years ago.The lady we stayed with took us to Warsaw and on a standard inter city train,We had to buy refreshments to take with us because there wasn't a buffet car on the train,But there was a trolley service for the first half hour of the journey! The train coaches where from the 1960 going by the style
I’m wondering where to buy the tickets online 4 weeks in advance as Omio isn’t showing any train tickets that far ahead.
www.intercity.pl/en/ check the PKP site out
as a pole i wanna note some things if someone wanna ask
here in the video you have the most expensive option which is this pendolino in 1st class (which is very good, but its so expensive - its above 200 zł (50$ i guess, but remember its poland and i compare to polish salaries, in usa you earn more, so that its expensive for us, normal train ticket costs 50 zł in 2nd class (also warsaw-kraków))
also those pendolino trains are between huge cities like kraków, gdańsk or warsaw
normal trains are ok i would say, intercity (ic) are very nice and quite cheap, tlk trains are also good, but they usually dont have access to power so you cant use laptop what kinda sucks (intercity have power)
there is only 1 big minus - trains are usually delayed
tldr our railway is good, but delays are so annoying
and prices on video are no longer accurate
I only paid 130zl Gdansk-Warszawa First class last week...
@@NonstopEurotrip i mentioned Warszawa-Kraków
At least the delays aren't tragic so often - I've heard it's way worse in Germany. Over there some trains don't even begin their jounrey.
second class tez jest super !
Very nice 👌
Thanks 😊
Belfer covid I was traveling a lot of time Waw-Krk using Pendolino. If you buy tickect at midnight, 1 month before journye you can pay only 20% cost.

PENDOLINO jest SUPER, BRAWO ITALIA, szkoda że nie jeżdżą do Olsztyna
If it would only go faster than an average InterCity train... but it does not. In fact it's sometimes cheaper and faster to take a plane.
So accurate 😁 plane ticket can cost around 70 zł if you're lucky 😅
Nice to see you in Poland :) how do you find our country?

till the end of 2023 this line is supposed to be upgraded for 250 kmh speed

Actually, the upgrade is delayed till 2025...
I mean, I don't blame them. They want to keep the railway traffic flowing during the upgrading, because otherwise other railway lines would jam up.
