just for anybody that wants to know yes I may not instal C Clips how Service Manuals say to, however it doesn't matter because the only reason any service manual tells you this is just for ease of removal of the old C-Clip.
That's how I put it in my 88 yz 80 recently and haven't had any issues at all. And that's with a used circlip (new one got launched into oblivion unfortunately).
When someone says they know the correct way, but they don't do it the correct way. and make a video. Then people say g thanks you really helped me out. Gotta love it.
Don't line the opening of the cir clip with that notch. That's how you remove them if the opening of the cir clip is lined up with that notch, there's nothing to grab onto with your pick to remove it, if you need to 😢
@@trxtech3010 i understand that but still doesn't mean its correct ..I believe i am correct ... you should research and learn more if you are doing things correctly ...it would suck if ypu lost an engine over your ignorance ...good luck
LMAO, comments like this or what give me a chuckle as people who have never touched an engine once in their life will sit there and try to tell me what I'm doing wrong and what will happen and so on...
I was worried I might damage the retaining ring by doing it that way but am very happy and relieved to see it can be done that way this video was exactly what I looked for🫡
The only video that actually helped thank you very much for your time and knowledge
Glad to hear that it helped!! Thank you for the Posative feedback.

Dude thank you. Wholly crap it worked
You're welcome! Goad to hear it helped!
You need to have the wire in the cutout. Last 1/2” of the circle so you can get a pick in there to remove the clip
I know this...

It's only like that for ease if removal... So no it will not mess anything up.
6 or 12 o'clock is best.
Wont work on 2nd clip with short piston pins
Great tip worked first try
Question for you. Does the oil wavy ring have to be gaped or buted up or overlaped?
@@jrealist1 No. Never gap oil rings.
That is wrong, because now you can't extract it.
I can extract it just fine after that....
I would like to watch that video... LOL
I always thought opening on clip went on bottom when working on dirt bikes eons ago...
installed them in all different directions. I've never had an issue all of these years. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

@Jason rood ok..if that's correct or is that your guess?? Stupid is what stupid does
@@JG-do6eb once again, I've been doing this for years absolutely never had an 1 issue...
Very close to damaging the groove with your screwdriver bud.
