Would you happen to know where to find a camshaft for 1984 Honda xr250r? Also would an 84 xl250 camshaft work . Can’t seem to find a camshaft anywhere.
@@atreyurain4592 Cams should be identical. Only difference is one cam has a slightly different grind on it if I remember correctly.
@ thanks for getting back to me . They are different part numbers but thank you I’ll try and Roger the XL camshaft I found
Thank you
Hey, I just got a 09 Raptor 90 and this may be a dumb question, but how do you get this CVT it in neutral? I feel like this should be simple but I can’t figure it out.
@@derekbrown9755 Nope, they do not have a Neutral.
Fuel filter wrong side/wrong position. There's an arrow, follow it
So they all the same length r what that's my question don't no yet TF they always show something else
This was great. Just the video I needed. success
@@karlkable glad to know it helped you out a little bit. I do apologize or some spots that I may have skipped or didn't cat h. 👍🏻
In this day and age, I'd wager it's just cheap parts selection on the part of the manufacturer, and total lack of quality control that we see across EVERYTHING manufactured today. All in the name of keeping the money rolling in without one concern about the end user. Sad sign of the times. NEVER used to see this with Polaris, or ANY manufacturer 20 years ago!
Are all Canadian machines trash? I want to buy an ATV, but I'm concerned a polaris scrambler will shit the bed after a year or two. I'm not impressed by what Japan has to offer with ATVs, reliability is great, but I want a 1000cc machine and IRS for the sand. I've ridden a Scrambler 1000 in Glamis and it was intoxicating.
I have 3 honda rubicon's with IRS, they are spectacular machines. Here in florida we got thick muck and other machines are getting stuck while ours just go right through. Plus it has a shft to drive the motor, not a belt
@@gatornation3889 Hondas dual clutch in an ATV is neat, but i want a quad with around 100hp. Sand dunes drain power and I'd really like to have a comfortable quad that hauls ass. Are there reliable big bore kits for the foreman?
Yeah I have seen issue after issue with Polaris's. They're crap design. As for Japanese bikes and Japanese Side by Sides like the Yamaha Rhino and the Honda Pioneers etc those are very good actually. But yeah this side by side is crap. I would never buy a Polaris.
@@trxtech3010 nooooo, i want them to be good, I don't want my suspicions of their quality to be correct. It was a lot of fun to ride, but if they really are crap, I shouldn't drop 18k on it. The arctic cat sxs must be shit. There was a large pile of bent a arms and broken parts at the glamis test drive booth.
Excellent video examples of why I wouldn't want to buy these kind of SxS is there better out there
How big are the factory pilot air jets?
Don’t use electrical tape on a wiring harness! Use the right product
Never had an issue....
Torque to yield 🤓
I got a Honda rancher 350 from a family member who just had a refurbished carb put on it and noticed it was leaking fuel everywhere, so I took it off and cleaned it good. Floats fine and cleaned that seat needle good but now it's coming out the drain screw at the bottom but the screw is tight. Is the screw supposed to have a o ring on the end or what? It's driving me nuts!
Sounds to me like the float level is a little too high. Adjust your float level to where when the carburetor is upside down at a 45° angle that the float is aligned exactly with the bottom of the carburetor where the bowl seals against
I cleaned my jets and put it all back together bc it was leaking everywhere and I think the gasket wasn't seated right in one section so I cleaned it put it all back and didn't realize I messed with the fuel screw and now it will turn over but not fire up like it's not getting gas. Any suggestions? I heard to tighten screw and then turn back 2 and half to 3 turns or it'll run too lean. It was running fine before just leaking gas like a sif
Too fast bro. Wayyyy too fast lol.
To people listening to him Your carbs floats Gunna drop over time Your carbs floats gunna stick from sitting in fuel varnish No matter what you do just have a second carburettor on hand, I have one for every machine I own and my life's fun and easy.
I have done that and still have NO brakes
What was it? The shoes?
@@uwuObito still working on it, going to change out the master cylinder
Is there any way I can do something even if extreme to get it to start just once? Before I take all that apart lol. I hate that I just zip tied all the wiring back how it originally was so I’d have to cut and re do it all.
What the hell were they thinking?!
Howdy I’ve got the same raptor 90 but mines got some carb issues. Got it cleaned and rebuilt by a local Yamaha dealer but the problem remains. It will only accelerate if the vent up top near the diaphragm is closed. And the choke on. With the choke off it will idle high but die as soon as the throttle is touched. Any insight would be great!
@@rey5039 hey yeah that seems to be pretty common with these. I've actually had another one I dealt with similar to that I ended up just replacing the whole carburetor with a GY 650 carburetor they ride in the only thing you'll have to do is slightly modify the throttle cable and the auto in richer to a 12 V key source, but they work really really well.. Just go to eBay or Amazon look for a GY6 50cc Carburetor.
How do I remove it when the gap is right on the whole mines stuck on I really am looking for an answer
@@MWM650 a small 90 degree pick OR a screw driver usually will do it.

@@jsanchez4652 People look for this video for help see it then try to school me how I am wrong and how it's incorrect etc... Yet they're looking on TH-cam how to set their floats.
Things a pile.
All polaris's are a pile of shit
No need to scratch the sh!t out of the carb with a screwdriver.

I REALIZE THIS VIDEO IS LIKE 4 YEARS OLD BUT I JUST HAD TO COMMENT ON IT. GREAT VIDEO, I'M JUST NOW IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING MY CAM CHAIN ON MY 2002 XR 250. SO WATCHING YOU DO ALL THIS IS SO HELPFUL. MY BIKE HAS BEEN MAKING THIS TERRIBLE CLANGING NOISE ON THE TOP END. SO I ADJUSTED THE VALVES, QUITE A FEW TIMES SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER HAD TO THAT ON A BIKE. NOT BEING SURE OF MYSELF I TOOK IT APART A FEW TIMES SINCE THE NOISE DIDN'T GO AWAY. SO NOW I'M CONVINCED THAT IT IS THE CAM CHAIN SLAPPING AROUND. I JUST WISH I KNEW ABOUT PUTTING SOME RINGS OR WHATEVER ON THE ROCKERS BEFORE I PUT THE COVER BACK ON BECAUSE NOW I DON'T KNOW IF THAT THREW THINGS OFF EVEN MORE OR WHAT....? SO I'VE GOT A LOT OF THINGS TO FIGURE OUT NOW. I BOUGHT THE BIKE LIKE 4 YEARS AGO & ITS RAN GREAT ALL THAT TIME UNTIL THIS ISSUE CAME UP. THERE'S NOT REALLY ANYONE AROUND HERE THAT I KNOW OF THAT WORKS ON DIRT BIKES, SO ITS KIND OF UP TO ME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM..... FUN !!! YEAH......... BUT AGAIN , GREAT INFORMATION ON YOUR VIDEO. THANK YOU 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Deffinatly replace the Rocker Arms and Piston rings while you're in there. Thank you for the posative feed back! I'm glad that it helped you out.
I have a 1993 XR80 all original. When you twist the throttle fast it bogs but if you ease into it it doesn’t. Went through the carb & everything meticulously and can’t figure it out. Have any pointers?
Turn the air screw out more.
@@trxtech3010 I’ve adjusted that and the ideal more times than I can count. Could the float need to be adjusted?
That nut on the bottom is it supposed to be tight cause mine leaks when I squeeze the ball
Hello, I'm Alex from Spain. I have seen that there is a picture of a TRX450 wiring diagram uploaded by you. I need it with more quality. could you send it?
Send me an email at ryan94james@gmail.com
did you sync the carbs?
Why didn't you check the cylinder height and ignition time?
Thats fuckin awesome 👌 theres science behind this stuff not just making everything huge and it almost completely has no restrictions other then the valve. First time seeing anyone do it like this
Full video please
Thats a pretty nifty trick.
If I were to do this , I would twist the end with some lineman pliers before putting the terminal on to crimp.... I'd be concerned about the end of the loop arcing back to the wire if it were just folded around like that - especially in higher voltage lines.
What way do i need to put the rubber o-ring around the vacuum plate? Does it need to be flush with the plate, or does it goes the other way around (kind of standing up - not flush)? I have a CRF250R 2007, runs lean all the time, checked almost everything - from valves to tps, leaks, jetting, etc etc.. Just cant get it right for some reason. Also, throttle is sticking when it runs, looks like some sort of vacuum problem. When i shut the bike of, pull 2-3 times on the throttle, it comes lose again. maybe someone can help me here, thanks :)
@@fintense So the Vacuum Plate Seal needs to be sticking up so it resembles an upside down cone is the best way to explain it. Is the throttle cable getting stuck or is the idle hanging?
@@trxtech3010 Alright, got it, thanks! The slide seems to get stuck when its running after 1 minute, not the idle (ofcourse it wil idle higher when it gets stuck). As soon as i shut the engine off, the slide/cable/carburator comes lose again bij twisting 2-3 times. I hear some air (vacuum) coming lose aswel when shut off and twisting the trotthle. the cable it self runs free.
Better to use the manufacturer's spec and method for measuring and adjusting the float height. This video shows a quick 'very rough check', meaningless without knowing where the pilot height is. Other than a unclear title, good video.
Funny considering this is the manufacturers sec on Yamahas, and a Kawisakis....Other why's... "Unclear"
Tigers pawprint ❤
This could help others if you would complete the bleeding procedure
Great vid, i just drilled till they broke and twisted the rest out with pliers. For the carb cover “welch plug” ig😂 I used a deck screw. There are vids of that trick

Thanks for sharing! I have an engine like this in my catapillar forklift and I can't find anything in the diagrams. Do you happen to know what to set the distributor at?
This one is not a Distributor style it's a Coil Over style. However anything that is Distributor style you can start off by finding TDC on cylinder Number 1 and then start the engine at 0 Degrees if timing and as it's running advance the timing till you get a good idle OR best way is to yse a timing light and advance it to about 15 Degrees before TDC
I have a question if anyone could help me I just got done building my yfz 450 2004 top end and I timed it and stuff ran good as soon as I was done road it for about a day started it the next and it lost a bunch of power and starts to bog out and cut out when I push the thumb throttle in about 1/3 of the way it makes it backfire bad two if someone could help I’d really appreciate it
@@RuebenLowther did you double check your carburetor to make sure that your main jet hasn't fallen out or that it's not clogged or that the needle is not loosen flopping around? Sounds like something could've came loose also check your spark plug tap to make sure it's on their tight along with your ignition coil wires...
@@trxtech3010 okay ima try the cleaning the carburetor and spark plug and see what happens then I’ll come back and let you know if it worked
@@trxtech3010 update didn’t have to clean the carb or anything was looking at the carb messing with it then there this black nob thing that I messed with and screwed it in after that it ran good just can full throttle it as soon as you get on it you have to wait till you get it at least 2/3 of the way so it doesn’t cut out
It’s fine. You just can’t have regular 87 in it. You have to use rec gas. It’s not a suggestion just to have you spend more. The engine is designed with rec gas in mind and is also what it says in almost every manual. Corrosion is preventable. You don’t need to go to the extremes. Source? Im a small engine mechanic.
I am a a Machanic too. Basicully what happens in Ethonal sticks to intake valves and causes them to stick opened as I said. But yes AV Gas is good too how ever you have to keep in mind anything leaded will start to plug up carburetors and fuel injectors over time.
Yeah but with small engines it’s a little different more often then not the block cracks or something goes beyond what you should pay for the thing before that matters if you from day one do what I said. Not disagreeing just saying there’s an easy way to just avoid all of this. Also this is for the people reading this CHANGE YOUR OIL AFTER 50 HOURS ON ANY SMALL ENGINE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. ALSO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUG EVERY 25-50 HOURS FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY. YOU SPEND THOUSANDS KEEP IT NICE WITH $20 HERE OR THERE.
