When I find tips that I love, I write down the correct sizes for each nail and then tape it inside the tip box for future reference. This makes doing my nails much quicker and then I don’t have to shuffle through each size every time.
This is an extremely helpful and detailed tutorial. Thank you for mentioning us in your video and we're glad to know you like using our products. Thank you for sharing Kate!
Hi there . Thanks for this awesome video.just a question. What's the reason for not filing the shine off inside the extension.. is that step not suppose to make the extension adhere longer to natural nails
hi! you can most definitely do that step, and i have in a few of my gel extension videos. i don’t notice a super big difference in wear an adhesion, so it’s totally personal preference.
I used to do dip before I got super busy with school. I don't have the time anymore to both mine and my moms nails. I'd spend one day removing everything and filling it in and then the next day, I'd be polishing them with gel. It's just way too much for me. I'm assuming full cover gelly tips are the best and quick alternative? Of course I'd take my time, but it wouldn't be such a long process with filling the acrylic, shapping the nails, prepping for the gel polish, and etc. I know you still have to prep the nail bed before you put the tips on, and slightly rough up the top of the gelly tips, but can you put 1-3 layers of builder gel on top of the tip for extea support? I keep my nails relatively short, I have them just pass my nail beds They wouldn't break as easily with these especially since the tips are more flexible and my nails are shorter? I'm sorry if I'm asking too much and how long this was. I really miss having my nails and I'm just trying to find the best alternative besides dip that doesn't take so long, but still gives the same results. I guess what I'm trying to ask, since I don't even know really myself, is that will it feel like your nails are super flimsy if you don't put builder gel on top of the tips? I'm going to anyways regardless, but I'm just wondering in case I'm in a situation where I can't put any on. Again, I apologize if this is too long and asking too much. I want to be 100% educated with these before I go ahead amd buy them!
hi! i would definitely recommend this type of product to you. they are still strong without the builder gel or other product on top, but i would recommend extra product for more durability. if you keep them relatively short however that wouldn't be an issue. the process is much quicker as well!
hi! i would recommend either using a specifically labeled product like that comes in a kit or something like that, otherwise a clear builder gel would most likely work. a normal gel base coat might not be thick enough.
hello! i have personally only used “gel glues” that have come with the tips specifically made for this process. however, a hard gel is relatively the same thing. so, although i haven’t tried it, i assume it would work similar!
hi! i assume that you could use a builder gel, as the gel that i used to attached the tips is a similar consistency. i have only used gel products specifically made and targeted towards this type of manicure however.
I’m confused! Inside the tip u put the same primer that u used on the natural nails. Then u put the 4 in 1 gel base. I don’t see u putting any glue. Am I correct?
The product she used is another adhesive. When she puts the tip on her nail and cures it in the light it sticks to the natural nail and will last weeks if done right
There should always be a gap, this is to put gel in, it then sits like a well structured nail with a correct apex. Please look at other videos and learn about apex and the importance.. 😄👍 Happy nail days..
the gel used to adhere the tips is basically a builder gel, just labeled as this specific product. so from my experience, yes, you could use a builder gel!
hi! sounds like you’re experiencing some sort of lifting where your hair is catching underneath. i recommend having a really good prep routine to avoid this, and also fill grown out nails after 2.5-3 weeks
hello! in this video i used the double dip gel glue that came with the clear tips in the set. this product is no longer available. when i do gel extensions using this method, i usually use a gel “glue” that comes with the set. there are various options out there. one of my recent favorites is the gel glue from gelish which can be found at the following link! hope this helps. www.sallybeauty.com/nails/explore-nails/shop-all-nail-kits/soft-gel-duo-kit/SBS-006881.html?Similar_Items_B
I think my problem is, I bought these and there’s space between my nail and the artificial nail. It’s like these full tips don’t do well with my flat nail beds.
hi! if you cure for the recommended amount of time on the directions you should be okay. otherwise, you'll notice when the gel is fully cured, it is hard and very strong.
i recommend making sure there aren’t bubbles in the gel before applying into the tip, and also applying at a 45 degree angle from cuticle to free edge to push any bubbles that may exist out! as for a nude nail, you may just need to apply more coats to get an even application.
@@katesnails hii, so you can just file through the extension/tip? I want to use it for my whole nail or biggest part of my nail. If i put gel under to make it stick, acetone will remove it?
I developed a reaction to gel and now like whenever I use gel it makes my skin peel and itchy. Is there any way I can get over the reaction so I can go back to using gel because I’m still young so I thought I can “grow out of it” if that makes sense
I also had a similar thing happen to me but after a couple of days it stopped itching and I still use the same gel glue. But now I make sure it doesn’t touch my skin. If you still have a problem with allergies, apparently apres has aspecial gel glue without the ingredient that causes the allergy.
this makes it look so easy 😞 i’ve tried so many times with full covers tips and i’m ready to give up.. no matter what i do, gel always spills out of the side
hi! maybe decrease the amount of gel that you apply into the well of the tip before application. additionally, you could try and use a thicker gel. i just did a review of the btartbox full cover tips, and i applied them using a polygel-like consistency of gel and it really helped in eliminating that spillage! hope this helps.

Definitely gonna do this thanks for sharing 🙌🏻
Yes I do the same I just write on the bags what nails go on what fingers so its waaaayyyy quicker .....
❤ that! Thanks for the tips tip! ;)
Thank you so much for your comment idk how/why I never thought of this! GENIUS! 🤯
I do the same thing.
by far the best and most helpful nail tutorial I've watched!!!!
Yes, I agree. Some people talk, talk, talk................. and in the end, there's nothing really useful for us beginners!!
This is an extremely helpful and detailed tutorial. Thank you for mentioning us in your video and we're glad to know you like using our products.
Thank you for sharing Kate!
I can't wait to do my nails this is such an easy to follow tutorial!! Thank you
Please show us how you do a refill! I didn’t even know that was possible with gel x nails. Great content 😊
hi! i share how to do a refill of gelx nails using builder gel in a few previously uploaded videos to my channel that i recommend you check out!!
Best video I could find on these! Short but very informative video!!
You should drill a bit the nail gel x before putting gel glue, it will last you even longer, great job. 💕
For people who don’t have nail drills, you can buy nail tips with pre-etched nails :)
Thankssss. I’m about to do my nails 💜
Really great tutorial. Only thing is I will use color gel to hide the natural nail underneath.
Thank you for this video. I am just now wanting to do this to my nails. 😊
How long did these hold up for? Love your videos! Thank you for posting this one as I just got some full coverage nails to try
i kept them on for a month, and did a fill every 2 weeks!
Love the nails, your tutorials and you... Thanks💋🤓
Great tutorial!!! Thanks for the help ❤

Hi! amazing video. I have a question.. Can i use any gel base coat to attach the tips?
hi! i would recommend either using a specifically labeled product like that comes in a kit or something like that, otherwise a clear builder gel would most likely work. a normal gel base coat might not be thick enough.
Hi do you have a video that goes after this one? Like how to apply colors or designs :) I’d really appreciate it!
i have various videos on my channel painting nail extensions!
Can we use glue to fix the nail?
they look so nice! How long do they stay on?
i would say around 2-3 weeks before needing a fill!
@@katesnails awesome! Thank you for the reply 🥰❤
Beautiful nails
Im confused can you use a regular hard gel to adhere a tip to your nail? Or do you have to use a gel nail glue?
hello! i have personally only used “gel glues” that have come with the tips specifically made for this process. however, a hard gel is relatively the same thing. so, although i haven’t tried it, i assume it would work similar!
I like this video. 😊😊😊
How durable are they? Are they as durable as acrylic. Just dun like it when nails pop off, but I want to try gel over acrylic
These are very durable! You can make them even more durable by adding a builder gel or gel polish on top.
Do you soak these off like normal gel nails as in file them down and then soak off ? X
yes! these nails can be filed down and soaked off.
Hi ! What can we do if there is bubble inside the tips and can I redo the process if it is not cured
Hi! You can take the tip off, remove excess gel, and reapply.
Did you use gel glue or gel top coat to stick the nails on? Thanks
hi! it is a specific gel product made for adhering the gel tips--basically a thicker gel base/top liquid.
After all of this can we put hard gel in top is that gonna work?
Yes! You can put hard gel over the tips.
Thank you!
Can you use builder gel as the glue or is it a different gel?
hi! i assume that you could use a builder gel, as the gel that i used to attached the tips is a similar consistency. i have only used gel products specifically made and targeted towards this type of manicure however.
is the base coat the gel you used to attach the nail?? or a different gel
correct! a lot of the gel-x type kits use the game gel for a "base coat" and to attach the tips.
Imma try this cuz idk why but my nails don’t last me much not even when I had gotten professional done by someone
Thank you
I’m confused! Inside the tip u put the same primer that u used on the natural nails. Then u put the 4 in 1 gel base. I don’t see u putting any glue. Am I correct?
The product she used is another adhesive. When she puts the tip on her nail and cures it in the light it sticks to the natural nail and will last weeks if done right
Are you using builder gel as the "glue*.
Yes!
I have really flat nail beds so I can never find any nail tips that fit since they curve and there is a gap 😩
hi! in this case, i’d recommend filling the tip with a little more gel to fill in those gaps.
There should always be a gap, this is to put gel in, it then sits like a well structured nail with a correct apex. Please look at other videos and learn about apex and the importance.. 😄👍 Happy nail days..
I feel it
You need acrylic then
File them down a lil to fit your nails better 😉
is this the same as builder gel? or could i use builder gel?
the gel used to adhere the tips is basically a builder gel, just labeled as this specific product. so from my experience, yes, you could use a builder gel!
When the nails has grownth, how do i prevent the area of the growrth to tangled with my hair?
hi! sounds like you’re experiencing some sort of lifting where your hair is catching underneath. i recommend having a really good prep routine to avoid this, and also fill grown out nails after 2.5-3 weeks
Do you infill these or remove and start again?
you can do both! i find the best way to fill them is with builder gel (since the tips are made of gel). you can also just completely soak them off.
This is the only method I’m interested in doing lol I just need to perfect it 🥲 I always put too much or too little base coat
Please list what you can use to glue the tip to your nail ?
There is soft gel, hard gel , gel nail glue , builder gel , im so confused
hello! in this video i used the double dip gel glue that came with the clear tips in the set. this product is no longer available. when i do gel extensions using this method, i usually use a gel “glue” that comes with the set. there are various options out there. one of my recent favorites is the gel glue from gelish which can be found at the following link! hope this helps.

Do you Glue it under the cuticle?
i do not. the nail tips get applied with a small gap near the cuticle area.
I’m nervous to do these. How long do they last?
This is my preferred way of doing my nails, they last me three weeks:)
i would say they last 2-3 weeks!!
Question, how do I remove the plastic tips, because I've either been ripping them off or waiting a lightyear till they fall off:/ help me plz
you can soak with pure acetone!
What glue you use because I did my nails and the fell off in 3 days
i used the gel that came with the set, it should be linked in my description!
hi! what do you use to get these off? will a normal soak off do?
yes! i file off majority of the product and then soak in pure acetone!
@@katesnails thank you! will try these soon :)
@@katesnails just took these nails off after an event! ty!
I think my problem is, I bought these and there’s space between my nail and the artificial nail. It’s like these full tips don’t do well with my flat nail beds.
Hi! This is definitely a possibility. If you have flatter nail beds, I recommend applying more gel into the tip to fill in that larger gap.
How do you know if the gel under the nail is fully cured??
hi! if you cure for the recommended amount of time on the directions you should be okay. otherwise, you'll notice when the gel is fully cured, it is hard and very strong.
Where can I buy this product?
everything i used in this video is linked in the description!
no matter what i do i always have air bubbles under my nail then they arent evenly colored when i do a nude nail.
i recommend making sure there aren’t bubbles in the gel before applying into the tip, and also applying at a 45 degree angle from cuticle to free edge to push any bubbles that may exist out! as for a nude nail, you may just need to apply more coats to get an even application.
how do i take this off
just like you take off dip powder! i recommend filing the bulk of the product off, and then soaking in pure acetone.
@@katesnails hii, so you can just file through the extension/tip? I want to use it for my whole nail or biggest part of my nail. If i put gel under to make it stick, acetone will remove it?

Most people seem to be allergic to HEMA in yhe products, look for gel products without this ingredient
You are using gel not using glue for nails why?
this is a newer method of applying nails called the gelx method! you cure the nails on using gel instead of gluing on.
this makes it look so easy 😞 i’ve tried so many times with full covers tips and i’m ready to give up.. no matter what i do, gel always spills out of the side
hi! maybe decrease the amount of gel that you apply into the well of the tip before application. additionally, you could try and use a thicker gel. i just did a review of the btartbox full cover tips, and i applied them using a polygel-like consistency of gel and it really helped in eliminating that spillage! hope this helps.
