    It is because of such women, I still feel that Pakistan is not lost. Their bravery and selflessness puts the masses to shame.
    I pray that future Pakistani leaders come from such roots, brave, selfless, with a vision of living amicably with its neighbors and leading their country towards progress.

    I bow my head in respect to this Iron Lady. Her courage and clarity in her thoughts and ideology are unprecedented among the women in Pakistan. Even not many men can say that "Fauj sab se bari Jagirdaar, sarmayakaar, Qatil aur Jabir hai" more power to her. Great Work Shehzad your podcast will have a history of its own.

      The problem with Pakistani liberals intellectuals especially leftists they always use "Women" as a weapon of their interest, it is ironic all elite women are the leaders of the revolution in Pakistan, and they never condemn male oppression by women in Pakistan, majority of them have USA and UK citizenship and lived in a posh area, they always encourage public university student to adopt the way of violence, the majority in Pakistani society there is a matriarchy, not patriarchy but elite women always fight against patriarchy although in their personal life, they are maleless and even in their thoughts they hate the word مرد. What a hypocrisy in their thought.

    Subhas Chandra Bose :Indian National Army (INA), also called the Azad Hind Fauj (literally Free Indian Army), faced the British on the battlefield during World War II. While militarily unsuccessful, the INA played a crucial role in India's struggle for independence.

    What a great conversation! The volume in her voice might be low but her thoughts are strong, and her hope is infectious. Specially the discussion on self-determination was very insightful. I think the rebuttal on self-determination from left sometimes could be unfounded (Apart from Jawad Ahmed - it was also echoed by Kamran Asdar Ali on your podcast, if I am not mistaken although it was not that direct). India had faced similar movements from South (specific to language) but what happened that time was the concept of National Self was also gaining attention - late 1950s and mid 1960s. I think it got balanced out, in a way. Discussions based on such competing perspectives keeps a country strong, I think.

    Thank you for this conversation with Ismat Shahjahan Sahiba. I have also heard Rafi Kakar on the Baloch question, his view is based on a centralised federation model with "more representation of provinces", and this view is driven by developmentalism/more share in allocations. While, Ismat Sahiba's view is based on "the right to self-determination", which is the key conceptual framework for understanding national oppression and national liberation struggle. Given the military's hegemony and corporate interest, Pakistan must not have a centralized model of federation. I tend to agree with Ismat Sahiba that all productive & natural resources, legislative and fiscal powers, should be returned to the federating nations, except for 4 subjects including currency, defence, foreign affairs and inter-provincial coordination. Without demolishing the material base of the military's hegemony and the centralized system of control, oppressed nations cannot be liberated within the framework of the Pakistani state!

    I dont know why sub nationalists forces in Pakistan always consider Punjab as their enemy ? Despite the fact that they are always welcomed in punjab. For instance more than the entire population of balochistan more baloch actually live in punjab. Similarly there are many pashtuns who have great businesses in Punjab. This clearly proves that punjab has always been welcoming for all the ethnicities. Despite this Punjab is a devil for nationalists. Its strange !

    • @faizan_ukk
      @faizan_ukk 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand what you mean. Leftist discourse regarding these issues are mainly focused on core-periphery theory where core exploits peripheries. For example developed word (core) exploits developing world peripheries even though it welcomes alot of people from developing world. (Exploits in the sense that example Multi-National Companies like Shell are literally controlling African Republics and for example they literally threatened Pakistani President that they will bomb us back to stone age because they wanted to invade Afghanistan to feed their hurt ego after 9/11) So if someone says Developed World hosts people from developing then why does developing world criticize it, what will you say?
      In Pakistan, North Punjab is the core. It has been developed by every government since '47. During One Unit time, West Pakistan's Capital was Lahore and you know the areas near Capital always get developed. During Ayub's time, most who got rich belonged to either Punjab or were migrants from India in Karachi. Most of the military is from GT road belt hence it is developed and has lesser poverty. CM Punjab made a deal with TTP to normalize relations in 2012. Most of Punjab's biradris have supported those in power like Chaudhary Biradran from Gujrat. Simply put, Punjab has been developed as a core.
      Because there has been war in KP for fourty years due to military's adventure (for example Colonel Imam Rajput trained jihadis who then bombed mosques in KP). Due to all that war, businessmen and elite had to move to Punjab. Now here look at the first para again. Core creates war and such scenario in peripheries that people from periphery have to come to core and core gets more developed.
      There's no hate for Punjab or Punjabis from leftists. It's just that the nature of this core-periphery relation is skewed in Pakistan and it doesn't allow development. If there's no war in Balochistan and KP, people won't come to Punjab

    • @Asifkhan77U
      @Asifkhan77U 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      why people are going to punjab why can't they get jobs and business in their own provinces. In their own home town. What is the reason that people for KP and Balochestan are coming to Punjab. You will understand then.

    • @muhammadumerazhar6633
      @muhammadumerazhar6633 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Asifkhan77U sir baloch population lives in punjab even before bristish era. They settled here during mughal era. This proves the fact that baloch and punjabis can live together with harmony. Inspite of this fact i have heard from some Baloch nationalists that both these nations cannot coexist . So i am talking from this perspective. With regards to your stance about why people donot get jobs in their own province. This is not true for KP because tourism industry is thriving in KP. There are 3 motorways in KP Hazara, Swat and M1. Moreover KP people are being given the facility of health card. With regards to sindh one can easily see that even the leaders from sindh didnot do much for the entire population of sindh so in this case what is the cime of punjab province. Yes there are genuine greivances of balochistan but in that case people of entire pakistan are involved in crimes with them because the first martial law administrator was not punjabi who murdered nawab noroz khan. So instead of blaming each other we just need to reunited to sort out differencrs.

    Ye daagh daagh ujala, ye shab gazeeda seher
    Wo intezaar tha jiska ye wo seher to nahi
    Ye wo seher to nahi,
    jis ki arzu le kar
    Chaley thay yaar ke mil
    jayegi kahin na kahin
    Falak ke dasht mein taaron ki aakhri manzil
    Kahin to hoga shab-e-sust mauj ka saahil
    Kahin to ja ke rukay ga safeena-e-gham-e dil.

      @@AryanAdarsh-bt3gq kalaat is not baloch, it's brahwi majority ( dravidi South Indian family) , kacchi plains ,mehr garh civilization upto sibi very close to Quetta Sindhi saraiki( Urdu Hindi group) majority over baloch( Persian group), Quetta to noshki mostly Pathan tribe( not part of Balochistan), noshki to gawadar then mostly wastelands nomadic semi nomadic baloch tribes. Due to extension of Urdu Hindi language groups and South Indian family into the center of Balochistan and highly mix population, baloch case for freedom is very weak
