NOTE: It has come to my attention that La Mer restaurant very recently closed. I am shocked to hear this, as is probably many others. I will not be picking a runner up winner. Rather, I recommend you try the other 4 restaurants. You can't go wrong with any of them!
New to your channel and an awesome review definitely will have to try these spots.Have you tried Brothers sushi in the SFV woodland hills? Highly recommend it if you haven't.
You need to go to Brothers sushi!!! They have one in Woodland Hills and they recently opened one up in Santa Monica. The owner actually worked at Asanebo prior to opening his restaurants.
On a recent staycation in downtown LA accompanying my hubby to a conference I finally got to try another one of your top sushi picks oo Toro. I am extremely picky on sushi places for high quality fish and since I have a sensitive stomach i can only eat cooked fish. The two types of sushi that is not cooked that don't bother me are octopus and dish roa eggs similar to caviar I eat on special occasions or when I feel like it being Russian. I have to say it is another sushi place I would visit again with fish bugger and smaller anount of rice which is what I love. I am not a fan of sushi houses thay have more rice with small amount of fish. Not to mention they give you a tinny desert to wash hour meal down with the house type hospitality. I highly recommend to anyone coming here to try it. My boy who is 4 1/2 doesn't like sushi the seaweed part but he does like rice and fish. So with my boy and hubby we don't do sushi so this hit the spot for me as a moms date to myself out. Thanks for making these videos as I always look out for the next place to try.
Hi Steve. We went to Kura Sushi on Sunday and really enjoyed it, so thanks for the recommend. These places look awesome. We will have to work our way up the sushi ladder and check these places out. 🐙🦑🦐🦞🦀🐟🐠👍
Hahah none of these places are REALLY authentic style of sushi in Japan. These are all middle tier and more Americanized LA sushi. LA Mer probably did have the most authentic looking sushi out of this particular bunch. Pro tip: If they don’t serve you Kohada as part of your omakase, it’s not traditional Edomae sushi. No one that has dined in top sushiyas in Tokyo would pick these as the best in LA. Also, if you’re eating caviar, truffle, and gold flakes on top of your sushi, you’re eating at a non-traditional spot.

Yes absolutely I was picked up #4 La Mer at beginning watching this video
Epic analysis in awarding a winner.
Thanks for showing us these great sushi restaurants. I'm going to put these on my visit on my next trip to Los Angeles.
Hope you like it!
Really enjoying your high quality food adventures bro!!! Keep me coming!! New fan here
Wonderful list. They all look like winners!
Thank you for sharing this Best Sushi Restaurant review!
Thank you for making this list. I have only been to Ootoro in Little Tokyo and did not like it although it was reasonably priced. I will try the rest.

Brothers is better than the Asanebo of today. Asanebo was good like 15 years ago.
I remember eating there as a kid 😊
what is the location of Otoro? i plan to try the one in Irvine, not sure it has the same quality.
Sushi can’t get any better than this
Yelp is showing La Mer has closed down. Is this correct?
La Mer is now permanent closed. Do you know that they move to other location or so?
Is La Mer Sushi still in business? Yelp reports it is closed…

He went to restaurants in Los Angeles NOT in Japan🙄.
How did they go out of business with such a rave review?!
thought your guy had hearing aids on, turns out he pulled a Guy Fieri....SMH
great suggestions, but that basic white girl, that supposed to know about food is bad, turned down
Admittedly I did watch this video, why? The guy you eat with looked unsanitary like he needed a bath, sorry but it grosses me out.
