I really enjoy New Rockstars, they usually only breakdown TV and Movies and this was their first time doing a music video. Apparently a ton of people requested they break down Not Like Us cause they're pretty damn good at this.
Idk where I saw it, but someone said that the owl in the cage doesn't mean what we all think. They said that from the owl's perspective there's no cage, but from Kdot's there is. Saying that Kdot can see what Drake can't, that's he's trapped.
And all that caged bird gone do is sing for Lucian. Prison sentence deal
FINALLY!! Someone touched on that perspective. To the owl there was NO cage - and the scene starts with no cage, but from Kendrick's perspective (hands folded behind his back), he is saying bih you're done!! 🤣
Literally EVERY reaction video has that idea in the comments. It's really not that special a take anymore

The shipping container scene was In reference to “The Wire” season 2 episode 2, sex trafficking episode called “Collateral Damage “ . That’s why the next scene was girl dancing on “The Wire”.
They also said the painting could've been an invitation to the white party Drake was at because their invitations were custom paintings. Plus Kendrick was wearing an all white outfit and did the wave at the end.
Edit: Definitely would've missed the Wire reference though
The reference numbers on all of those containers also start with “CB-1”, as in “You better never go to cell block one.”
I watched an old interview with Kendrick he said that he likes when the fans over analyze his videos and most of the time we his fans are right in the analysis.
Drake leaks are reference tracks, Kendrick leaks are thrown away songs.
Which is crazy because those Kendrick leaks are SO damn good. Like how you gonna throw away a banger of a song like “I’m Better”???

Meh it was a decent Track. You can hear in his voice his heart wasn't in it in the first place. I am inclined to believe Someone told Cole that the beef was going to go deeper than rap. He was right to back out. Still want a Cole x Kendrick EP. Bars would go crazy on there. I'm pretty sure they on Good terms. I think all these TH-cam pages pushing the Agenda that Cole and Kendrick not being cool for years is lame. Cole and Kendrick are very private and we don't know if they were talking or not. The scene where he's doing jailhouse pushups is a reference to a photo shoot the actress from 5th Elemant and Resident Evil movies once did. She talked about being sexualized in the industry since she was 11. Milla Jovovich. The photo and that scene are spot on ✌🏽

She wasnt saying anything out of pocket. In my own personal opinion, 7MD was aight I guess. It was a diss track, had a few good bars but that was IT.

That J Cole diss track was weak as hell. He didn't even sound confident with what he was saying because he knew the disses at Kendricks career and catalog were lies. Also J Cole is chasing the career of Drake and Cole. Neither of them want Cole's career which makes the disses at Kendrick's career even weaker because you then compare Kendrick's career and music to Cole's. Cole has even acknowledged hes in 3rd place in the past.
Doesn't the child, on that album cover, have a pick in his afro, and Kendrick also has a pick in his hair, in the 'cell' scene?
