When he went away to work, she painted everything in the house with white paint, as well as the bushes and trees in the garden. She exclaimed, "white is a state of mind!".

I can understand the family pressure. My daughters bulldozed me into replacing my fav living room curtains. Incidentally I just redid my kitchen chairs in Aqua with black and burnt pink upholstery. Then I added a similar black runner to the table. It is giving such great vibes.
