It’s my 6 month list, after getting a chronic pain disease. If I can get one or two bills paid during the day, that’s just fine. Fortunately, I automated much of my responsibilities so that makes my life much easier now, lol! It helps being a gadget person who always believe that someone, somewhere has created some tool to make my tasks easier. I’m almost always right, these days, with all these software designers and inventors.

Love this. I’m a quilter so I have done this to a basement. We moved to Missouri and did this to the garage! People are shocked when they see how lovely it is. Doing this adds living space ..I think. Ps... it is nice seeing your sons and the great job they do helping!

Mary, I love how you make the most of what you have (i.e. the counter tops). Nothing is disposable. Nothing is waste. You are a Proverbs 31 woman. Dave Ramsey would be proud of where you chose to spend and where you choose to make what you have work. I love how you even used the plants you already had growing in your yard to fill in the gaps outside the entryway.

Great job! I used the same contact paper on my kitchen island. 1 year later it still looks great. The tools I used was a plaster knock down knife (this really saves the hands and reduced bubbles), heat gun (seal folded corner and lip) and exacto knife.
Hi Mary, I want to say youzer! You are a one company woman. The ideas and planning and actually doing is outstanding. You are like a cat with his tail on fire. Your energy level is crazy. I too use to have some crazy energy but now, not so much. I'm 62 and riddled with arthritis. I still do a decent amount for my condition, but I would love to be like you again. You just prove that women can do just about anything. Thank you for your hard work and inspiration! You definitely have me wanting to get up a do something special.

I believe they come with the windows? I have some windows with grids that were here when we purchased the house. There are little notches in the frame where they hook in. Doubt you can add them but Google it or Amazon it. Amazing what one can find now a days. 😁
There was a style of window made with these removable grids. The windows come with notches that the grid fits into. These windows are probably still for sale somewhere.

You did a marvelous job! Just reminds me however of how much I have lost, when I got Lyme Disease. What you are able to do in a day and how well your body serves you... Can't help but being a bit jealous. Glad for you of course, but watching this has left me with tears in my eyes. I'm a doer too, maybe not half as accomplished as you are, but I like to get things done. Meanwhile I'm not even able to keep my rather small 4-bedroom apartment clean without help. I can cook about once in a fortnight. Today I worked (rather slowly and almost only sitting) for 3 hours in the garden, getting weeds out. I'm literally ill from it. Again. Yet, the weeds are crying to get out, or they'll multiply a hundred fold. I've asked for help so often, but people are too selfish. Before, I helped others.
After both of our daughters moved out to their own places for graduate school and/or work, we took over a couple of the unused bedrooms. i got the upstairs master suite which I turned into my quilting/crafting room. It is awesome and I did it all myself! I bought a bunch of Ikea furniture and now a third of the room has paper crafting, while the rest of the space has quilting and sewing. Two sewing machines are set up on special sewing tables, plus a Martelli cutting and measuring table that you can make it go up and down, which is great when you want to stand to work, which I often do. My desk also goes up and down (an Ikea desk, which I LOVE). I have five 9 drawer storage cabinets where I can put mostly the paper crafting stuff, plus some sewing supplies. I have a 5 shelf cabinet on wheels with large, open pull out shelves, and on top of that I put some of the machines I use. More machines (Brother Scan n Cut and pretty soon a Silhouette Cameo 4, inspired by Mary(!)) etc., are on the top of the 9 drawer cabinets that all stand right next to each other. Finally, I have two large bookshelves with doors (glass on top, closed on the bottom half) so I can show off and see all my gorgeous quilting fabric stash and quilts in progress. On the floor is a beautiful rug I got from my favorite quilt fabric designer, Kate Spain, who also sells some of her patterns in other products, like rugs, etc., etc. And I got several prints from her of some of her great fabrics that are displayed around the room. We already had a bunch of recessed ceiling lights and I have 4 cool Ikea lamps around the room that I set up on remote control so I can turn them all on when I enter the room without having to walk around the whole room, turning them on. I love it!!! Oh, and I added a smart Amazon Fire TV so I can watch training TH-cam videos and shows I’ve seen many times from Netflix and Amazon Prime so I won’t get so distracted that I don’t get anything done, lol. It’s great having the bathroom and master closet there, too, which has loads of shelving, etc.
Mary, you are such an inspiration. You tackle jobs that at first appear insurmountable but watching you complete them makes me get up and finish things that I've left by the wayside. I love your videos and your house is so lovely.

You are soooo inspiring! Turning a cool damp basement into a wonderful work space! And YOU can do anything!! From painting, building, designing, gardening to laying carpet! Thank you for inspiring woman to try things! I use to do all those things as well, but life has taken me on a different journey and I am now very limited on what I can do. But as you say we just need to try and even though it takes me so much longer to do little things now, I do enjoy your projects! God Bless you
It would have taken me all day just to do the counter! Think of all the new inspiration you’ll feel in a space that reflects the things you love. You’re growing so much though you could end up needing a building all to yourself and several employees.

You did a marvelous job! Just reminds me however of how much I have lost, when I got Lyme Disease. What you are able to do in a day and how well your body serves you... Can't help but being a bit jealous. Glad for you of course, but watching this has left me with tears in my eyes. I'm a doer too, maybe not half as accomplished as you are, but I like to get things done. Meanwhile I'm not even able to keep my rather small 4-bedroom apartment clean without help. I can cook about once in a fortnight. Today I worked (rather slowly and almost only sitting) for 3 hours in the garden, getting weeds out. I'm literally ill from it. Again. Yet, the weeds are crying to get out, or they'll multiply a hundred fold. I've asked for help so often, but people are too selfish. Before, I helped others.
After both of our daughters moved out to their own places for graduate school and/or work, we took over a couple of the unused bedrooms. i got the upstairs master suite which I turned into my quilting/crafting room. It is awesome and I did it all myself! I bought a bunch of Ikea furniture and now a third of the room has paper crafting, while the rest of the space has quilting and sewing. Two sewing machines are set up on special sewing tables, plus a Martelli cutting and measuring table that you can make it go up and down, which is great when you want to stand to work, which I often do. My desk also goes up and down (an Ikea desk, which I LOVE). I have five 9 drawer storage cabinets where I can put mostly the paper crafting stuff, plus some sewing supplies. I have a 5 shelf cabinet on wheels with large, open pull out shelves, and on top of that I put some of the machines I use. More machines (Brother Scan n Cut and pretty soon a Silhouette Cameo 4, inspired by Mary(!)) etc., are on the top of the 9 drawer cabinets that all stand right next to each other. Finally, I have two large bookshelves with doors (glass on top, closed on the bottom half) so I can show off and see all my gorgeous quilting fabric stash and quilts in progress. On the floor is a beautiful rug I got from my favorite quilt fabric designer, Kate Spain, who also sells some of her patterns in other products, like rugs, etc., etc. And I got several prints from her of some of her great fabrics that are displayed around the room. We already had a bunch of recessed ceiling lights and I have 4 cool Ikea lamps around the room that I set up on remote control so I can turn them all on when I enter the room without having to walk around the whole room, turning them on. I love it!!! Oh, and I added a smart Amazon Fire TV so I can watch training TH-cam videos and shows I’ve seen many times from Netflix and Amazon Prime so I won’t get so distracted that I don’t get anything done, lol. It’s great having the bathroom and master closet there, too, which has loads of shelving, etc.
I love the finished L◕‿◕K. The cart you design is really nice and I like that it is on wheels. Thank you for sharing your Esty shop space with us.
