You achieved a very polished modern everyday look. The eyeshadow was definitely a light shimmery rose pink.
Agree, but at least on camera it's also pretty natural - not super opaque or bright, it works well with your skin Molly!
They should add the name of the products in braille because some jars/containers may have the same shape. That way it's easier not to confuse them.
Molly has a great video where she talks about this, "Beauty products made for blind people" ❤
I do think your mom sees color a little differently lol! The bag is definitely a dusty purple and the shadow is a muted sparkly pink. Loveeeeeee this look 10/10!
I’ve always thought her mom was a littttleee bit color blind but after this vid I’m about 99.99% sure she is, cause how was that eyeshadow brown to her lol 😂
@@user-tx8li4ft8d molly said in this video that her mom is a bit color blind :)
Mama B lore lol
The makeup bag is definitely a dusty, mid-tone purple. The eye shadow stick is a cool-tone, light, shimmery rose pink and looks really good on you! This cool-tone pink makeup look is really flattering on you!
Came to this thread to second the comment about the color of the makeup bag. It’s definitely a purple shade - looks like a shade of lilac to me! This inspires me to play with makeup more often! ☺️
It's a sort of dusty mauve shade - slightly rosy/pinky purple.
While I am a person without disabilities, not only do I support such decisions of brands (and everything in general) to make the world around us more accessible, I also am surprised why this is not common enough. These bottles that will not roll 5 km on the floor before I catch them, or an easier to open lid are the things that are making it better for EVERYONE.
While I wouldn't technically care if everything had Braille on it, many people would benefit from this. The colour on the packaging matching the inside is just a crazy good idea, even if it literally is just a sticker on top of the lid.
I am only waiting for the companies to realize that being more accessible is good for everyone, including themselves, because I will gladly support such things (with my money as well) and live my life happily having easier time doing everyday things (even if it is only about doing my make up, still, worth).
Personally, i get shakey hands, and physical tics. So anything i can grip easy and hold onto. My muscles can lock up at random, anything that doesn't require a very firm grasp.
But mostly, for everyone (myself included) with allergies, if brands had an "allergy tester kit" available, just tiny amounts of different products. To do a skin spot test. I would love it!
That’s such a great idea!
Also for the allergy part they could maybe experiment with different ingeedients so that if you know that there's one with a product in it that ur allergic to, there's also one that doesn't have any products in it that ur allergic to.
that is so genius!
I’m a nursing student and worked with a blind patient for the first recently. I felt confident doing sighted guide because of your videos. Thank you!
Part of my chronic illness includes having sensitive skin & allergies. Having more options for products that are unscented and/or fragrance free skincare and makeup! The options are very slim currently 😩
For skincare you could check out Dear Klairs (if you haven’t already), they are a Korean brand that has fragrance free options for some products, I love their toner and serum, super hydrating and I’ve never had any sort of reaction from them as someone with more sensitive skin. Haru Haru Wonder also has some good unscented/sensitive skin products.
Have you tried Bobbi Brown and Clinique? Even some of mac’s products are good for sensitive skin with no off putting fragrance. I personally think all makeup and skincare products should be unscented aka no perfume. Inashi hair care has also come out with unscented options.
@@lurajaques even if products have “no added fragrance” that doesn’t equate to unscented of fragrance free products. My dermatologist has a master list of products and I need to read ingredients lists
I think rare beauty packaging from the get go was founded on packaging that was accessible and easy to open for people with arthritis. I’m glad to see they are continuing in their accessibility goals, especially from Selena Gomez who has been a role model for me since I was 3😍
Ps they definitely have a concealer!! It’s my ride or die! Medium coverage, natural finish💜
It wasn't. Shortly after the original release they openly said the design was purely for aesthetic purposes. They have more recently taken credit for it, but that wasn't the original intent.
@@electrictwilightI literally saw a GRWM where Selena talked about the ease of opening her compacts. I have autoimmune arthritis and pay close attention to anything accessible.
The eyeshadow is a kind of shiny pale pink Molly and it looks so pretty on you. Quite pale and subtle but adds a lovely wash of shiny pink. It kind of made me want to pick it up.
The makeup bag is a dusty mauve colour. It's a 3/10 in colour depth (if 1 is white and 10 is black), and the colour is desaturated in intensity (not pastel or vibrant). It's much closer to grey than a strong colour, but it is clearly mauve.
The lip oil stain is a much more vibrant version of the blush, but they go together well.
The dusty purple description for the bag works. I would have said a cool toned mauve.
I think this makeup pallet is especially flattering with your coloring. It lights you up!!
I am not a makeup gal. I don't like to wear it but watching you put on these beautiful products made me want to buy some. They look so good on you, and you were so glowy and it looks beautiful on you!!! Thank you for introducing these products to me and now I am off to shop!
Same. It's very natural looking.
Me too!
I totally understand that. I love make up but I always feel it takes too long to do. If you don't like it that much for similar reasons, just start out simple with a few key products like the tinted moistureizer, under eye brightener, and the lip oil appealed to me. I've been into 5-10 minute looks because I could spend 30+ minutes on doing a full face of make up. Lol
i like how subtle the eyeshadow is. It is a light dusty pink like everyone's been saying and it adds a lot of shimmer. I don't often buy myself makeup but this definitely makes me want to xD
I think you should definitely do a makeup/skin care line. I think you know what is missing from the market, and you have great taste so I know I’d be great quality!
Molly I think the makeup looks FANTASTIC on you! You have some very soft facial features so I think the pinks and soft eye brighter really help enhance and not compete with them. Great choices in shades all around, seems like Rare beauty is a win!
I love their packaging on the concealer. I have trouble gripping thing with my left hand, and a little spasticity when trying to apply makeup (or do anything) with it. And the ability to grip the handles is great.
I've never actually had to describe something this color before... but that's absolutely puce. It's a very muted brownish purple.
Definitely puce, but I would add that it's got some pinkishness to it. A muted purple (where I think is where the 'brownish' look comes in) but definitely with some warmth to it (some pinkishness - not a blue purple), which I think is why Niamh doesn't find it to be purple.
@@timeiswhat I just feel like that Monsters Inc scene… “Oh, that’s puce”
When you first drew on the eyeshadow, it was so noticeable on camera! It's like a dusky light pink almost? really cute look :)
Here early and hoping you love it just as much as me! Her makeup/complexion products are the few items that dont cause allergic reactions including the less severe like dermatographia!
I have really bad depth perception issues and I have issues putting things like lip gloss liquid lipstick lip liner eyeliner mascara, etc, back in the tube. I usually stab myself missing the tube all together or dropping the stick on the floor or the bed, etc. then trying to look for it. Then I’m thinking how clean is it to put it back in the tube. Plus, I don’t want to touch it to put it back in the tube because I don’t know how clean it is. It would be cool. If maybe she could put a small magnet in the opening on the tube and then maybe a small one on the tip on the wand so they will meet when you try to put them together.
Just starting… I hope you love it as much as I do. I know that there is always a way to make something MORE accessible. But I feel like we need to make sure we are supporting brands that are putting in EFFORT. It doesn’t mean that things could not be BETTER. But we wouldn’t be getting anywhere without getting on the starting line. RB and gently are the only big brands I really feel comfortable giving my money to. Money talks. And inclusivity and focus on disability accessibility are important to me so that’s where my money goes.
VERY VERY pretty, Molly!! You did a great job. It’s giving feminine, pink, even, perfect shade match & not too heavy at all. Love it! Also, the makeup bag is a light, earthy, grayish purple. Dusty purple is an accurate description.
Physical disability here- severe autoimmune arthritis- so things that are difficult to open are automatic no’s. Give us lips/ledges to grip. Twist off tops need a ledge to push against. Compact styles need a lip that sticks out far enough and doesn’t take too much force to separate. I agree that as my eyes age, trying to locate the name of a color on a component that all look the same in tiny print gets harder and harder. Designs that stand still and don’t roll away is nice for everyone! Neat video idea!
FYI. I saw on line that you’re supposed to the bow in the back and it bends inwards to hold your hair back
Honestly one of the best make up looks I’ve seen you do especially for a first try of each of these products! The cool tone pinks look amazing on you! Plus you tried things that scare you like the eyebrow gel and you did a great job! This makes me want to try Rare Beauty with how effortlessly each of the products applied.
I've always thought that colour (on the bag) was mauve. When I think dusty purple, I picture a Concord grape.
Me too!
That haircut is so flattering on Molly
That look turned out beautiful! The colours suit you very well and you skin looks like it’s glowing!
The blush suits you so well especially with your tan! All the shades match amazingly and blend well and smooth into your skin. Also, you mentioned that you can see the highlight shimmer- would you consider doing a video comparing a bunch of different highlighters and which one shimmer the most on skin or on swatch? The bag is like a mauve dusty purple, but definitely leaning more purple than a rose colour.
the eye shadow stick is a champange pink!! I think it looks great on you. The make up really blended nicely into your skin without looking blotchy or overpowering in shades.
I love accessible brands!! Also re: bronzer, I find the under eye-brightening creates a bit of an optical illusion where the outside of your face naturally looked bronzed :) Love you so much and thank you for all your content! It makes me feel not so alone.
Molly you look stunning! I love how supportive Mom was for the entire process. You did a great job shade matching yourself. I’ve wanted to try Rare Beauty since she created the brand but have held off. Now that I know more about it from you and how she she’s making things better for EVERYONE, I can’t wait to go shopping! ❤
The bag is a greyish pastel purple. Dusty purple is a good definition.
Years ago when you said that people try to disprove your blindness by quoting you saying ‘I saw’ or ‘i read’ or whatever, made me laugh at the time. Since then I hear you say it and still laugh in my head thinking ‘oop someone’s gonna be in the comments lookin like a fool because they don’t understand English phrases’ 😂 it really brings me joy
I get the same treatment as a wheelchair user. Apparently I'm not allowed to use phrased like "I stood there", "I walked to" etc
@@melissaz6778 I feel like people like that want to feel high and mighty about needing phrases to be ‘accurate’ when everyone uses metaphors and common phrases to get one’s point across. When I’m late to work I say ‘I flew down the road’ 😂 but I ain’t in no damn plane nor am I a bird 🦆
@DanSgambelluri trust until proven untrustworthy. No one should need to prove anything to anyone especially when it comes down to one’s body or personal life 😒 #ridiculous
This looks gorgeous! The makeup bag is a beautiful dusty lilac. This makes me want to try Rare Beauty.
The tinted moisturizer went on so beautifully. It blended almost instantly and looks like a great color match! The edges were seamless and looked very natural. The eyeshadow is very natural looking too; it's a pink that you would see if you laughed really hard or had a good cry. The eyeshadow is shimmery, subtle and brings a look of health and liveliness to the eyes.. I would say you don't have to spend as much time blending that as you think. After a few swipes with your fingers, you're set. It looks nice. This is because there's not a huge color contrast between your natural skin color and this pink. Thanks for sharing these products, I love @rarebeauty and when I purchase makeup once a year, this is the brand I spend money on. I want to try all of these! This natural "clean girl" makeup look is very much my style. LOVE IT! Love the video. ❤
Her contour stick is the only one I use I fail with every other one she has the best one
I love how positive and supportive your mom was through this video!
So, after this video, I went and purchased the foundation, eye brightener, eyeshadow stick (in the same color as you purchased), and the lip stain. The package came in yesterday, and I just tried those products this morning. These products are so amazing! Everything went on so light and perfectly, and it was such a beautiful "natural" face, which I go for when I use make-up. I just went on Sephora and purchased the tinted moisturizer (mainly for SPF), eyeshadow stick in Integrity (a gold shimmer), the powder blush, and the mascara. I don't think I can ever go back to what I was using before. I absolutely love Selena Gomez and what she is doing, and I love these products!
Joy just tried doing her brows by herself for the first time the other day too! I agree, brows are so in these days. I love this look, soft, romantic and glowy is how I'd describe it. I love the subtle shimmer of the eye shadow.
I always wondered if your mom was colorblind when she described colors. Great job on the brows! the brow gel looks great, i want to try it now.
I have never once used a shadow stick either but that one you used molly was stunning and I’d definitely buy it !
Omg Molly the comment about the mother's and their obsession with lipstick is so TRUE!!! I've never heard anyone else say it before, but soooo relatable 😅
The eye shadow I would say is a pinky champagney color, it look super pretty on you, it’s not too pigmented but gives a great little shimmer/depth!
Speaking of the mascara brush with different bristles!! Maybe it’d be a good idea to also have the packaging that is flat on one side to indicate what side of the brush has the longer/shorter/more voluminous bristles!
& side note: I LOVE the makeup (your skin is GLOWING) but I’d prefer a more nude lip shade but that’s just personal preference :)
Your colour analysis really does complement you well. I know that you were a bit disappointed, but the cool tones suit you sooo well! Those pinks are perfection on you.
As a fan of rare Beauty, this makes me happy. I have a couple of their lip products, plus their hand lotion. The packaging is great. YAY for Selena. I’m legally blind.
That pink lip looks so good on you, Molly!
Molly, I believe you color matched your makeup pretty well. That skin tint looks really great on you.
You’ve made me want to go buy that eyeshadow stick!! it’s such a gorgeous shimmery-light pink colour. obsessed🤩
It looks great on you! So natural and a youthful look. Love that they are not only inclusive but also great quality. 💓
I find makeup therapeutic, too! I rarely wear more than mascara and brow gel, but when I do sit down to do a full face it’s like art to me
12:25 Makeup can be very therapeutic. It really helps me not get into a funk if I’m doing my makeup everyday. But, lately I’ve been battling health issues and so, I just okay in my makeup, swatch it, etc and even doing just that is a mood lifter.
This hair length and color on you is AMAZING
All of the colours look sooo good on you. In my opinion, you could dip again into the blush, if you like some more colour, especially if you don't bronze like in this video. The blush is very pretty but also very sheer. But it also could be because you sit directly in the light. The eye brightener and the tinted moisturizer are not only perfect colourmatches for you, they also look incredible on your skin, together with the blush. The eyeshadow stick is also beaitifull and you did a beautifull job with the application.
The highlighter is a nice colour, but it is very reflective and can, when you turn your face look rather oily than glowy. But only on the temples and forehead. The mascara did not much, but it is one of those bushy straight ones.
All in all a beautifull look on you, I enjoyed the review too, and I will check those products out myself, thank you, dear ❤
I love the eye shadow sticks and wear that pink a lot and get tons of compliments!
Omg I am SO EXCITED for the skincare routine!!! We have the same skin type❤❤
Molly, the mascara is sort of between medium and long/chunky in terms of how voluminous it is, and it is even all the way to the end where it rounds off right at the end. It looks similar to the Bad Gal one, but the Bad Gal tapers more at the end instead of suddenly rounding off. It's also the "hairy" kind of wand and not the "rubbery" kind some brands have (I think the rubbery ones don't work well at all, so I think that's great).
As a girl who was a teen in the 90s, we legit had almost zero options in makeup. I HAD to use cream foundations because I could NOT put on liquid foundation without it looking a hot mess (because we didn’t have beauty blenders back then)…. I also didn’t like sponges untik they were like coated in product. lol. Because it was hard to blend ur makeup with a clean and fresh sponge. Thank goodness for makeup brushes and beauty blenders!
Molly!! You did an excellent job on your makeup. The colors compliment you so well, and I’m so happy there is a product line like this for EVERYONE to enjoy. More makeup videos from you as soon as you can, please 😊
The mascara wand is a straight cylinder with the typical fluffiness all the way around. I would say it’s probably “big” in terms of comparing it to the size of the container it’s in. It seems more like it’s the same brush that would be put in the full-size product, but slightly shorter.
The bag I would say is somewhere between a dusty purple and a cool-toned mauve. And the eyeshadow is subtle, but when you only had one side done it was still easy to see which had color. It’s a shimmery pale pastel rose-gold pink color, and it looks LOVELY on your skin tone.
I also might have misheard you, but Rare Beauty does have foundation and concealer! And as someone who is AWFUL at bronzers, even the powder, I find her cream stick bronzers to be absolutely perfect. They blend out so so well and she actually has one that matches my cool tones and doesn’t turn me orange or super dark! (It’s the second-palest one, “Bright Side”).
I also find her eyeliner to be the easiest liquid liner I’ve ever used, and super resilient!
I’m so happy you love her makeup as much as I do!!! I was waiting for your review on this line since you’re much more versed in makeup than me, and I’ve always loved her packaging and thought of you when I first saw some!🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
(Edited for typos lol)
I absolutely LOVE your brows they’re gorgeous!
They so have a concealer and I love it so much! ❤
Molly! You did such a good job with all of the products and the muted tones look very nice on you. The look is sleek, modern and professional.
Stunning the best you makeup has EVER LOOKED
Love!! It looks so good on you. I’d call the color of the bag smokey purple. It’s a grey based cool tone purple for sure.
Glad to see the accessible features. That highlighter is bright - I bet it would be a great eyeshadow. I know in the past you have talked about Too Faced being a quite tactile makeup brand. Any other brands that you recommend for beauty accessibility? Also, I would call the bag a dusty mauve.
Molly this makeup looks amazing! I am shocked at how well you were able to pick a foundation shade, it looks like you were professionally color matched! Also, was living for your mom just gassing you up this entire video 😂 And yes, I’d agree that the bag is a muted dusty gray purple, and the eyeshadow is a nice light pink with a bit of a tan undertone
As someone who doesn't wear makeup, but been a fan of Selena since 2007...i went to 4 different Sephora's to find the liquid blush and lipstick. I ended up having to have it ordered because none of the stores had the lipstick I wanted. It was apparently really hard to get ahold of certain shades when it first came out because it was so popular.
you look gorgeous omg! I loved this video so much! I think their liquid blushes are so good as well. But I understand why you don't want to play with them BUT if you do, it would be a great feedback for rare beauty to build something for people who are intimated by pigmented products! I so enjoyed this video and missed watching you as you apply make up! Maybe you can try fenty beauty as well?
Omg the end result was fabulous! Everything looked really good!
Color matching is perfect!!! This makeup looks SOOOO good on you! Also your lashes look great with that mascara!
It's so adorable watching you try new things even as a beauty guru!! So proud of you for doing your own brows ❤
i can’t get over how good this looks omg molly !!
So excited for you. Been watching you for years. We all have ups and downs, but I feel this is your phase of ups. Wishing lots of love, success, joy, and happiness.
The non-rolling feature is so good!
*I LOVE how natural this is, I might try it my self -Katarina*
The cool toned pinks look stunning on you!! The eye shadow and blush are my favorites on you and I’m definitely keeping them in mind when I need to restock. Especially the eye pencil. The lipstick seems a little more fuchsia pink than dusty pink to me. It could be the camera though and still looks very pretty with the look.
The mascara is thick and uniformly straight no curves. Definitely looks like it’s meant to add volume to the lashes.
The bronzer sticks are super easy to blend and they come in very light/natural shades. Usually sticks are too orange but hers is more cool toned. I would say to put a stripe about an inch long just below your cheekbone and blend with a brush. Keep the movement parallel to your cheekbone. When in doubt, keep blending.
Actually one thing with that stick is it might be hard to close when blind. The product sticks up as a dome so if you get the lid crooked it could damage the stick.
Molly, you do makeup better than me and I am a sighted person. I hate my lashes. Not only are they naturally straight, they point down!! Growing up people asked me how am I able to see because my lashes are like window shutters. They asked if it blocks my view. If I squint and focus my eyes, yes, I do see my lashes lol. They're thin at least so it doesn't completely block my vision. If I use regular mascara they will uncurl my lashes. For some reason waterproof mascara doesn't uncurl my lashes. Does that happen to anyone else? I hate having to use waterproof mascara every time since they're hard to remove.
Your makeup looks STUNNING. Makes me want to buy all the products bc of how good they look on you ❤
I love the end result! For your lips I would recommend the shade "hope" :)
The bag looks like a dusty rose colour leaning purple than pink. Very pretty colour.
I'm loving this makeup on you too!! For the bag it looks like almost in between like a dusty rose and lavender. More lavender but super cute!! ❤❤ I really wanna. Get rare beauties whole line now.. ugg 😆 🤣 I've been wanting her liquid blush! And I love all the packaging being easy to open too! I just have difficulties in general for literally anything so this would be lifechanging I think lol
The pink definitely looks good on you 💖 the eyeshadow is a cool shimmering pink and it really suits you!
The highlight and the cream shadow are my favorite on you.
This makeup really went well with you. Impressed on how many details we can have in make up packages!
I also like the name of the colors. Imagine myself as a blind person. A color with the name happy contains more meaning than just the color name
I have several skin allergies, so offering fragrance-free products and specific ingredient labeling are helpful (vs. vague terms like "natural flavor").
Most of us with skin allergies have several (and are susceptible to getting more), so avoiding most of the common ingredients together in a sensitive skin line would make it more likely for more people to be able to use the line (i.e., avoiding things like fragrances, beeswax/propolis, parabens, and sodium benzoate).
Red Apple Lipstick is the best make up company and it’s privately owned.
really loved all the products on you!! it's like a simple and not overly complicated makeup routine to do but the resulting look was very fresh looking and gorgeous 😍
Rare Beauty does have concealer and I LOVE it! I definitely recommend!!!
It blended really well.
That pink lip looks amazing on you Molly!
i have 3 of her eyeshadow pallets (one mini and 2 full size) and they are really great! she also used to have liquid eyeshadow available 🩶
I think on the whole it looks really good. I do think the shiny stuff makes your face look oily/sweaty, but to be honest that's probably just me. I thought it looked really good right after the setting powder.
I prefer to use my hands when I apply my foundation especially since my go to is a tinted moisturizer. I have a blush and I absolutely love it. So pigmented.
This makeup looks SO good on you!
A beautiful everyday look with power brows and a pop of color on the lips 👌🏻
