    You have to give chops to the questioner to have the balls to ask that as direct as he did to his new boss, and publicly among his peers. He may sound like a jerk, but he asked something that was important to him and wasn't convinced this return CEO knew what was what. The man's question was raw and brave.. And without that question, we wouldn't have this response.

    1:47 - Jobs says that 'you have to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology'. Consider that statement in light of the current MacBook Pro devices, necessitating carrying dongles around, not working with the iPhone headphones, no MagSafe to protect the device... It's flipped now at Apple, they're prioritising the technology advancing, rather than the user experience. How very sad.

    • @jamespants6591
      @jamespants6591 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Woolfe my thoughts exactly. Where is the customer experience focus when you can no longer use iTunes to download older versions of apps. When you can't just change the screen of your iPad etc, etc. Shame on you Apple.

    • @gokusan7801
      @gokusan7801 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "technology advancing ". LMAO. They charge 2k for a MacBook pro and they can't do better than integrated graphics or an anemic radeon chip.

    • @blackbox1024
      @blackbox1024 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new technology is new because it certainly has improvements. You can't have a perfect user experience every time using the old stuff. People that create new technology with no improvements are already bankrupted.
      When the iPhone came out in 2007 it wasn't designed to fit into a Nokia case so you wouldn't have to buy a new one.
      The current MacBook has only usb c ports where you could use any of them to charge your laptop, that's more convenient than trying to locate the charger port which was in the previous models, sometimes the socket may be far away and the cable won't reach the left side where the port was, now you can do it in the right side instead.

      In his book he express himself the opposite, he didn’t blieved in marketing research, but believed in customer experience through advance technology and marketing which he actually was very good at both of them. But he never asked customer what do you want and he is very clear in his book about it, I don’t know why he say the other way around maybe just an answer in this particular question. But he believed in revolutionary products and marketing, the reason Apple is not the same as it was under Jobs maybe because the don’t see that vision and don’t have the ability and capacity

    i wonder if what i got right about why Jobs invested in Customer service the most. i thought the reason is that the CS is the most important before we decide which way we are going to when it comes to selling the product and designing the product. I understand he was saying CS is the first chapter to progress to the next step. that is what it is. am i right?

      customer experience is what you think, feel, and see when using a product. its critical in determining whether you will try a product, continue to use it, continue to use it on a regular basis, recommend it to others and most of all pay for it.
      Its really basic stuff. But it takes smart people to boil it all down.

    Apple is now facing the exact problem Steve addresses in this video. I think Apple needs a return to form focusing on the customer experience and simplifying the product line up. The new iPhone 14 is a great example of over complication product line up and figuring out a way to merchandise irrelevant technology to a customer base. In short it’s a pointless upgrade the is devoid of a really great customer experience and I think that’s pretty sad.

      There's not much more to come. Jobs, who had the courage to speak his mind to keep the quality of employees at the highest level, is dead. Ive, who took Jobs' perfectionism on the road, has left Apple. Cook, who doesn't have much to do with design, perfectionism, and customer experience, is managing Apple, nothing more, nothing less. The magic is out at Apple.
