This was so enthralling omg. I would watch it for 30 minutes if I could. it was beautiful and absolutely non-comedic even if it was satire. we all love thia
Melania wore a pussybow blouse to a debate after comments made by her husband about groping women were released. She wore an “I really don’t care, do you?” jacket while visiting undocumented kids being detained at the border. You can’t tell me that Trump made her do those things, or that she’s innocent in all of this. Men always want to make her seem like she’s this helpless, docile little doll Trump drags around everywhere behind him because she’s beautiful. No woman Trump has ever been involved with was weak. All of them had strong personalities, even Marla. Cut the crap. She knows exactly what she’s doing, knew exactly what she was doing when she married him, and no, she really doesn’t care. 🙄
toddsmitts actually not sure of that’s true. They settled at first which is normal even in cases when you’re right, because that would be bad publicity and would cost a lot.
+Nutssy Yag Well, in the case of spiders, they are killing flies that spread bacteria. Without spiders, we'd have a lot of flies. (Sure, birds eat insects too, but only the big ones. Spiders catch the small ones in their web, before they grow old and 'make more' flies.)
This clip wins my heart when he says, "I was working at a Call Center in Pakistan". Thank you SNL for mentioning Pakistan in a context that is other than terrorism (which BTW is totally wrong).
This could be the most incredible piece of art that SNL ever produced. I didn't expect this at all. It was a touching story. That didn't make (which is the case in 99% of the comedy on SNL) the characters one dimensional. Bravo.
Gary: TH-cam added the ability to make bold and italics a few months back (or further, can't recall), but never added any hint or indicator. It's laid out here: support.google.com/youtube/answer/6000964 Simple details: Put a "*" before and after a segment renders it in *bold.* Put a "_" before and after a segment renders it in _italics._ Put a "-" before and after a segment renders it in -strikethrough.- There are issues. Like, to make "word.", with a period, you have to put the asterisk after the period, as the code considers it just another character. And using dashes--like this--can sometimes blank out a whole paragraph. But it's better than nothing. Have fun!
I think people are missing the humor in this. Which isn't to say that it's the kind of humor everyone wants, but it's there. Melania is treated like such a one-dimensional character, she's put down by quite a few, and by throwing her into the cliched love story it both humanizes and goes for the gag in making her the unlikely love interest. Looking at the psychology of shopping, it expands playfully on her public character pretty thoughtfully. Meanwhile, the writers are really throwing together a pretty potent mix of cliches, which somehow really speak to people. A spider in a box under her bed? It's ridiculous. But look at how much it makes her a more relatable person. Those pathetic cliches work. The real question here is whether the blue eyed mountain lion (was it?) represents Trump, or whether the spider does. Is Melania protecting him? It's a pretty damned thoughtful piece of comedy, which avoids the yucks but makes you reconsider who Melania might really be. There's my twenty cents.
Speaking as a blue-eyed panther (spiritually, that is), I would very much resent being compared to trump. I might even tear someone to shreds if they did so. And, although I'm not fond of personal interactions with spiders, they also do not deserve the comparison. I don't think he's either creature. I hope the writers feel similarly.
I don't know if like people perpetuating the idea that Melania is a victim in this though. There is really no evidence to show that she is in anyway fighting for women, or against bullying, etc., yet there is some sort of perception that is what she is doing behind the scenes.
This was a depiction of two entirely different worlds of the people, with a hint of fun and laughter thrown in. This doesn't feel like the usual SNL comedy. I appreciate this

What makes this so outstandingly beautiful is that it’s disguised as comedy.. when in all reality it’s one of the most breathtaking and deep concepts. This was done SURPRISINGLY well! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This was sort of beautiful.
I'm glad it didn't have a goofy punchline to deflate the whole thing. It ended pretty perfectly.
Yo for real tho, if this skit was a fucking movie, i would watch it... 😂😂😂
IIsYouAndYouIsMe Trump?
IIsYouAndYouIsMe it was really good
IIsYouAndYouIsMe ikr
This was really wonderful watching.
Why?
How is that spider still alive?
one time i caught a black widow in my garage and put it in tupperware and it stayed alive for three weeks without even air
mementomori for real? The sketch is about a dude from Pakistan talking to and having an emotional affair w/ the 1st lady of the United States and a bug not being dead is the "unbelievable part" of the sketch to you?
great... currently i have a taped spider on my wall for 4 days... I don't want to take out the tape now
The will to get away from Donald Trump kept it going. Probably overnight delivery service too.
Real answer, they can go months without food or water because they've evolved to go a long time between prey. Some extreme examples have gone almost a year without either.
Really ironic story, I once talked to Kumail as a customer service rep! I recognized his voice right away. He’s extremely kind and funny.
Such a poignant short film. Love it.
it wasn't funny but it was very entertaining and sweet
BigDrewMachine it was very unlike SNL, which is not a bad thing
I'm agree it wasn't funny
@@ronaldperry279 Ahhhh... Mundane pragmatism have to strike, no?
It can't just stay limited to Emotional Affair! Either of them has to jump the other "in the heat of moment"???°
Duh...!
@@thelonf356 It was precisely like SNL in that was totally unfunny.
I don't know why they did this but it had me hooked. I don't know what the point was but I feel like this is true.
Kbitch Kal It was so well done. Bravo, snl. It was unexpected.
There was this campaign(?) about how Melania is being abused by orange butt.
the part when he opened the box made me emotional
Found this and watched this several times during my horrible call center stint.
Almost accepted a position at one...did i dodge a bullet? 😱
Yes. Just read callcentres on reddit. It took me almost 5 years to get out. Never do this!
@@dashpash 🤣👍🏽
The call center is a step up from retail or hospitality industry.. But it a scam like an Indian call center..
I did one for 2 months and it was tough
Red, white, and blue rage. 😂😂
MURICA
As a European kid with an Arab surname who had to spend a few years in the USA, I came to understand that "I am a US citizen!" yelled at the top of one's lungs, was always the start of an incoherent angry monologue from a dumb fuck with zero knowledge of other languages and countries.
What does it mean?
He's a muscle man now. It's crazy he looks like Arnold. Really funny comedian
Bully bully bully .. lol
Stop that!
:-D
seriously wow, that surprised me how good it was. props to who ever wrote that skit and Kumail killed it
This was so enthralling omg. I would watch it for 30 minutes if I could. it was beautiful and absolutely non-comedic even if it was satire. we all love thia
this is not a SNL comedy video..I find some calmness it watching this video. I watched this numerous times but find something soothing in this video
I didn’t think I could feel so much from a SNL skit
I bet, Melania would've sobbed, if she had seen this.
You actually could be right.
@Josh "they"
Melania wore a pussybow blouse to a debate after comments made by her husband about groping women were released. 🙄
Being married to Donald Trump...
Is it possible to feel sorry for someone and to not feel sorry for someone at the same time?
No. It is not.
Very true , she can buy anything... but cant buy being sexually attracted to her husband
Yeah what's to be attracted to? Who would want to be with an alpha male with endless money and power who can't stop winning? Poor woman.
Well, there's also the issue of him being a thin-skinned narcissist who cheated on her with a porn star.
toddsmitts actually not sure of that’s true. They settled at first which is normal even in cases when you’re right, because that would be bad publicity and would cost a lot.
I thought the spider was going to jump on his face when he opened the box.
I loved this story, it had me paying attention because it was sweet and soft. Not like how most skits involving trump are.
Dua Cirone That's because he isn't the focus if the skit.
The music was spot on as well.
-
not your typical snl shit...
really well written.
This was so well done it gave me a tear. How true it is that we all want someone to just listen
All the Emmys
“Did I say, red house?” I DIED
Kumail Nanjiani is a national treasure
Jonathan Arena Omg no lol
Damn. If that's what's considered national treasure, Pakistan must be broke af
National treasure to which country?
Yeeeeeeee
Jonathan Arena then Nicholas Cage is going to steal him soon
Jonathan Arena Mybsecret crush!
I feel bad for every spider that's squished. They are just doing their job.
I feel bad for bacteria and fungus and even HIV virus, they are just trying to survive and make babies, which is really fast
I hate spiders because they scare me, but I’d never squish them. I always try to catch them and put em outside
A brown recluse crawling over me in my bed is gonna get murdered, sorry. In fact any spider in my house is fair game. They need to stay outside!!
+Nutssy Yag
Well, in the case of spiders, they are killing flies that spread bacteria.
Without spiders, we'd have a lot of flies. (Sure, birds eat insects too, but only the big ones. Spiders catch the small ones in their web, before they grow old and 'make more' flies.)
I only kill them if they invade my personal space too much. I live in an area with relatively dangerous ones though.
This clip wins my heart when he says, "I was working at a Call Center in Pakistan".
Thank you SNL for mentioning Pakistan in a context that is other than terrorism (which BTW is totally wrong).
Yeah he’s Pakistani
"Call center" is pretty negative
@SAM IAM it's an honest job
@@eliseo5416 😂
@SAM IAM There are plenty of call centers in America
This could be the most incredible piece of art that SNL ever produced. I didn't expect this at all. It was a touching story. That didn't make (which is the case in 99% of the comedy on SNL) the characters one dimensional. Bravo.
SNL is now deep? I like it.
Knox Z As deep as a Petri dish.
Well, SNL isn't. Julio Torres is.
Cecily is the BEST at accents... She nails them everytime!!
You put feels in this sketch! I specifically requested _no feels!_
senselocke How were you able to write that in italics?
We apologize profusely for the error we have made...
Gary: TH-cam added the ability to make bold and italics a few months back (or further, can't recall), but never added any hint or indicator. It's laid out here: support.google.com/youtube/answer/6000964
Simple details:
Put a "*" before and after a segment renders it in *bold.*
Put a "_" before and after a segment renders it in _italics._
Put a "-" before and after a segment renders it in -strikethrough.-
There are issues. Like, to make "word.", with a period, you have to put the asterisk after the period, as the code considers it just another character. And using dashes--like this--can sometimes blank out a whole paragraph. But it's better than nothing. Have fun!
Please don't take your traveler's checks to a competing resort - yeah, that's right, _someone_ actually got the joke!
Damn that's deep for SNL..
That was.... actually beautiful. After watching that, I feel some type of way... Sentimentally. Wth is wrong with me lol??
"actually"
Melancholy
Yeah what is wrong with you. She could just walk away. Oh wait she does not have a moral spine, I forgot.
Same, I almost cried at the end when the spider was still alive, and he smiled.
"actually"
SNL doesn't say it always comedy. It's a live skit show. They are allowed to be emotional and deep. I liked it.
This was actually a beautiful skit
That's like an International Romance Movie. Kinda Beautiful.
Cecily Strong is so freakin' gorgeous
That was actually very compelling
That woman suffers.
One would hope. Can you imagine how deranged she must be if she didn’t?
Guts No Glory She's well paid for it.
who doesn't?
+Guts And so do the American people.
Guts No Glory who cares? She was a fervent birther
I want to give the person that wrote this the hug they clearly need
I actually want this to be a movie. It would be so interesting 😍
This is beautiful - thank you for your insight.
Nicholas Thurn thank you for delving in to this more than the rest of us have. It would be interesting if my comedy writing teacher talked about this.
Nicholas Thurn 👏👏👏
This, perhaps, is the best SNL skit ever.
Man, that skit was the most emotional skit ive ever seen on SNL, Jesus Christ the piano!
This was beautiful! I hope SNL makes more sketches like this! Comedy and Drama goes hand in hand.
omg i love this sketch great job kumail, love it everyone talking about the spider she gives to him what it's meant is she wanted him to free spider
A spider isn't an insect.
She's not American so close enough. =P
how does that have to do with being American
rumpydoppelganger that's all you took from that?
No shit Sherlock
Farhan - Because insect is an English word. Guess I should have said "She is not a native English speaker" instead
Lifting the covers at the end to a pile of purses! Loved it!
"Customer service for Gucci online orders" Lol
