Yes, I read the news this am. They believe they found his remains. A sorrowful day for all of us. I hear he was just as beautiful, sensitive and philosophical as his character George, in real life.

One of my favourite films - beautifully made, and perfectly acted by the best of britain's actors, and what is more, it was filmed partly in Florence, and also in its surrounding hills, in an area called Vinciliata. It was just a mile or two up the road from where we lived. We would go there often on sunny afternoons with our friends and the children! Julian was so young and beautiful in this film, and I feel so saddened to hear of his untimely death!

I never tired of watching this film in the early nineties as a teenager. Helena Bonham Carter gave an incredible petformance. Then I went to univesity in London and made friends with a girl who lived next door to the house in England where this was filmed !

I love these two characters. Clueless Lucy and Idealistic George. What do you suppose would happen if we could have seen them in their 60’s? Would she have still had thoughts of her own that she wanted to share in George’s arms? Would she have regretted breaking up with Cecil in her youth and living a life of luxury? And George, would he have still been as passionately in love with her? Have to walk my dog now. Thinking about how our own righteousness is as filthy rags and how our real righteousness is found in Christ. Don’t know much about movies.
