      I always slated his move but from his point of view, winning a ring is the peak of basketball and he went to the place with the best chance of winning so, he’ll always be a champion and finals mvp but from a fans point of view, he could’ve missed the 2017 and 18 finals and probably would’ve been a champion still with GSW

    I honestly don't think this conversation will ever end, KD's move will either be viewed as a 'meh' move by result of the players gaining more and more control of their destinations and him wanting to win, or as a move that was a way of taking the easy way out by joining those who he knew he could have minimal difficulty with and being hypocritical to his own words of "Being competitive and going at these people's"

    • @coolfear360
      @coolfear360 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Kidz24 I think the core difference is the extent and the intent. LeBron went to a solid but non contender heat, added bosh, and proceeded to dominate. In Cleveland he took a below .500 first overall pick team, traded Wiggins for K Love and immediately made a contender. KD just went to the best team in the league. The nets decision is a lot better in my opinion, but it is a tough look when you have three of the best offensive players the league has seen inorganically.

    You said “People who love him, mainly Golden State fans”. As a huge Warriors fan. It’s so weird watching highlights of him as a Warrior. Because even though I watched every game and loved watching him play, it never felt like he was our player. More like watching Lebron and Steph together at the All star game. Watching greatness, but felt no ownership over it. And now that he’s gone, I don’t have the same feelings I do about someone like Iguodala. Who I will love for life.
    Like, everyone knows this about GS fans, we will love Curry no matter what. He’s our home grown guy and has done more for this team than anyone ever before him. As for KD, I mainly feel disdain honestly, that he affected Stephs legacy. 3 years of prime Steph in which he could cement himself as the greatest PG of all time.
    And it’s a testament to Stephs character that he sacrificed that and welcomed KD in and never complained. If Durant won back to back MVPs and went to 2 straight finals and won 73 games, you think he’d allow Lebron on his team? Hell no. And the fact he won’t stop whining about his time in GS since he bounced is really annoying. The team was completely legit before KD. Battle tested and champions. And now that KD left and all these injuries piled up. it’ll never be like it was.

His stats and accomplishments say he doesn't need help, but his actions scream, "HEY, I NEED LIKE ALL THE FUCKING HELP!". It's like, am I supposed to believe his words that he's telling me, or believe his actions? Like the Golden State thing is kinda understandable, but then you set up an even more stacked team somewhere else and expect me not to think you need a stacked team to win. I'm a firm believer that KD should have stayed in Golden State. I remember distinctly there was a disconnect in 2018-2019 where we all felt that KD was an inorganic component. It was almost like, as effective as they all were on the court, the NBA world around them rejected KD's real role within that team. In hindsight, it's easy to appreciate the greatness we were seeing. When I think about it, Kevin Durant would have probably come back from that achilles injury with a lot of support from the fans, renewed support for the warriors as a team, and the connection that tragedy and hardship brings. Durant tore his Achilles and finally felt like a part of the team.
    That's to say nothing of the light show KD and Steph would be putting on this year (assuming Klay was still hurt) alongside James Wiseman. He's one of the greatest players of all time, and when need to recognize that now.

Imma always count those 2 championships but it woulda been nice to see him get a championship without the cards stacked in his team’s favor. He still my fav player and the greatest scorer I’ve ever seen though so thanks for this video Swishout

    Who traded for James Harden? Was it Kevin Durant or was it the Brooklyn Nets? And even then you can't blame the Nets because they are just doing their job, you can't blame them for having the opportunity to get James Harden and take it.

      A healthy kd is probably the most valuable player in today nba. You have a forward who is taller than some centers, has handles and skills like a guard and is crazy efficient. The only reason he seemed less valuable is because his recent teams have been loaded. I mean best believe this nets team is not winning the east without kd

If CP’s hammy held up, KD would have officially ruined his legacy, Curry’s legacy, Kerr’s legacy, that whole era’s legacy. I don’t really like the “KD to Golden State is worse than LeBron to Miami” narrative. Bron and Wade were both top 5 mvp candidates the year before, bosh put up 25/10.
    How they got there was different but the results were the same..a super team. And the other dudes on that Miami team during those 4 years weren’t scrubs

      @@gambit3950 it doesn’t matter to me about the team before he was there. He joined another mvp candidate and they gutted the entire team before he arrived, & it was planned they knew who they were playing with. We all knew they would at least make the finals.
      So hypothetically speaking if Bron went to Dallas to join Luka then KAT joined, and they put better prices around them everyone’s picking them to at least go to (if not win the finals). It’s a super team either way. I’m not saying KD’s was any better but I’m not gonna say the way one was formed was better than the other.

    I remember the Thunder losing to Golden state and thinking it's ok. Even though we blew the lead and lost we still were one game away from beating them and all we needed was one more pice and we can make it to the finals. Then I saw on the news that KD was leaving and joining the warriors and it broke my heart to see my favorite player, the one that got me into basketball doing such horrible thing . Loss so much respect for him that they and when he did win a ring with them I couldn't even feel happy for him.

    As a GSW fan who really spent his whole life living 15 minutes away from Oracle Arena, I can tell you that we don't really fuck with KD, which is one of the reasons why he left. We were SUPER happy that he chose our team after Bogut got hurt and we lost the 2016 Finals, and we appreciate his services a lot, but even we don't really have any respect or love for him since he took the easiest path possible as a competitor.

    Excellent video. I think a very good question to ask is how much help is too much help? It’s not a crime to play with other good players. Nobody wants to do it all in a losing effort. People like to pick and chose but any team that could sign a high level player for cheap will do it. Not just any team can find second round gems. No team is ever just a one man show, whether talking about kd, Lebron, Kobe, MJ, They’ve all have had tremendous supporting cast.
