Furnace troubleshooting and repair limit switch and flame sensor

  • This is a video I put together showing the troubleshooting and repair I did on my carrier furnace. It turns out that the thermal overload limit switch was bad and I needed to replace the part. I also went ahead and cleaned the flame sensor with steel wool to help prevent the problem from happening again. Make sure you understand that I am not a licensed HVAC technician and this video should be used as such. Thanks for watching!

    2 years later looks like I got first comment -- Gave you a a like and a sub. Been trying to find videos on carrier specific limit switch and theres not much out there. This was helpful. I havnt opened my heater yet, will work on that tomorrow to see where the switch is and how hard to get to on my model (different than yours). Just wanted to say thanks for the upload.

    Your video is reversed...left to right. For example, the word CARRIER reads REIRRAC
