Hi, I recently found that burning alcool in a beer can cut in two works pretty well under a weber chimney. It's cheap ,don't produce any smoke and start the charcoal pretty fast.
I also stick with the number 1 since a couple of years. Also use it inside the house in the winter to fire up the oven. Will there be a test about this new torch?
+gmshowtruck Ja ik ben altijd opzoek naar het beste, maar het is ook leuk om dit te delen. Krijg je lekker veel input en daardoor wordt het eind resultaat alleen nog beter
I light my coals in a chimney with my Weber Kettle Performer's gas assist, for however many coals I need. Flame - high, Black Smoke - none and Residue - none. Good video!
Great one Roel!!! I just get the 90% rubbing alcohol, works great, no stink or residue, and cheap, buy it at reg store... Squirt it on,, let set for 30 sec, then light with a lighter, yes, does flare up, so be careful.... Thanks for another great vid!!!!!
Ha! That was great. I use the Weber fire starter cubes, have no problems with them, and I only use Stubbs charcoal, best one in my humble opinion. Rock On Roel!
I used the natural brown one's and now mostly the Bastard one minute lighter. For the Joetisserie I have electrical power near my BBQ. I don't want to use fire starters with chemicals.
Not using starters with chemicals is a good idea.. ... I want to get rid of the smoke and bad flavors as well. The looflighter still needs to be tested, but the airlighter already does a great job.
I am using a alcohol burner (for camping) with a weber chimney. Needs very litte amount of alcohol to start, it starts the coal quite quick and also produces absolutely no smoke. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trangia. Do you have more information about this gas starter you show at the end?

Great review! I like the little wood rolls. Good for emergencies too. Are you Dutch by chance?
Hi,
I recently found that burning alcool in a beer can cut in two works pretty well under a weber chimney.
It's cheap ,don't produce any smoke and start the charcoal pretty fast.
He.. that's actually a great idea. Thanks!
I also stick with the number 1 since a couple of years. Also use it inside the house in the winter to fire up the oven. Will there be a test about this new torch?
So far the number one is the best I have.. but I don't really like it. I heard looflighter is coming with a wireless version as well
Wireless version sounds interesting. In the autumn I will get my Napoleon. Then firing up the pit will become much easier 😉
Great video Roel, I love the wooly wood, use them all the time now.
Thanks Tom... they are the best .. but I am not satisfied. I want something better
Great info! Is that hair dryer thingy cordless?
It is.. factory says 30 starts on a charge.. works with gas and a fan. So far so good
AWESOME TEST!!!
MORE IMPORTANT ONE:
THE CHARCOAL TEST!!!!
THNX BRO, KEEP BEEING THE BEST FOOD CHANNEL VAN NEDERLAND! :D
Hahaha dank je!!
That is a bigger and more important question. Sure would like to find out myself.
Great video Roel - Very informative!
Thanks Jason.. :D
Goed bezig jij Roel :-)
Thank you for testing the different fire starter! But I am using a heat gun and this is the best fire starter for me!
Thanks Klaus.. one of those this that a painter uses?
I have been using the woolwood-stuff quite a time... no bad experience with that stuff. Thumbs up for the test, bro.
Thanks.. in my opinion they still produce to much smoke!!
I think videos like this are fun, thanks for doing this Roel.
+michael landry I like doing these.. just mixing it up 🤘🤠🤘
Even without meat, it was worth to watch it! Good solid test criterias, good explanations so overall thumbs up! 👍
Hahahahah.. thanks Mike. Sometimes you just got to figure out what the best thing to use is
I light my coals in a chimney with my Weber Kettle Performer's gas assist, for however many coals I need. Flame - high, Black Smoke - none and Residue - none. Good video!
That's probably the best thing! I like starting with gass
+Walt G Thanks... will definitly give that a try. Just got the looftlighter... so will give that a try as well
what about ecobrasa Coconut Eco Fire Block? works better than the woodwool in mine experience
Thanks for the tip.. I will look those up
I love those wooly wood. but that bison airlighter looks awesome!!! nice review Roel!
I like the bison lighter as well
Ha! That was great. I use the Weber fire starter cubes, have no problems with them, and I only use Stubbs charcoal, best one in my humble opinion. Rock On Roel!
Hey Sal, I like Stubbs also... once they ash over imho they burn real clean with no funny after taste at all. RO!
Thanks Sal.. the white weber ones definitely burn brightest! But also produce the most smoke and smell Rock on Sal!!!
Biggs! Look for a shout out in 2 weeks! Rock On!
Shout it from the mountain top! Much appreciated... RO!
interested test
i use the woodwool firestarter
for the big Weber chimney 2 or 3 pieces and the little version 2 pieces
That's how I do it as well Thanks bro!
My I suggest using your camp chef stove or weber performer with propane to light your charcole.
Weber white cube are perfect for traveling.
Camp chef stove.. hmm.. gotta check that out

You should give the looftlighter a try. Works great
I will Maarten.. one is on its way
how about an old newspaper i always stick those in the bottom of my chimney?
That's a good one.. however.. we don't get newspapers anymore.. hhahahah. So I am in a pickel lol
I'll stick with a propane torch! :-)
I'll need to give that a try
Excellent review
The gas ignition on the Weber Performer works well
Yes.. that is a great option
What about wood shavings? Its cheep, clean and it works great.
+Luka s sound great... can you get everywhere... I should look it up.
Great Video - no Meat this Time but high Quality Information and a very good cutting job. All thumbs up.👍
Thanks man! I appreciate that.. working hard to make great videos. Thanks again!!
I love the wood wool !! And they are for sale at the AH !
Use them for my fire place too !
They are great!
Propane bottle & torch for 10 seconds. Works perfect, cheap.
I will definitely give that a try.. I did use a wheetburner for a while, but the bottles are small and filled with water.
Good video Chef. Bits of information like this are essential for the W/E DIY BBQ King.
Thanks Papi.. doing the test for you guys.. and trying to make sense of it all
Great nonbias product information!
interassant, leuk om te weten!
Dank je Ben

Thanks Sven.. I'll check that for sure...
The starter brand is bison and the name is airlighter

Great test, thank you
Thanks Kurtis!
Not sure why outcome is a real surprise? Many people are fans of these devices? (Eg looflighter)
I was surprised about how poor all the fire starters performed and it made me realize I need to be looking for an alternative
Excellent video thanks! greetings from Mexico :D
Thanks bro.. glad you like it!
Thanks! :)
Thanks for watching Simon!
