Can this entertainment system use a sim card to connect to the internet via it's data plan?! And ofcourse access internet browsing or various streaming sites independent of a mobile phone like the carplay is using. Like having a constant internet access without needing a 3rd party device.

No. It has data for the connected services on the car but you can’t use it for anything like that
Is it possible to rearrange the app icons on the Volkswagen menu (not CarPlay)? I want to make them appear in my preferred order and can’t see how

Not many cars have wireless CarPlay. Seems like you get shafted in Australia on a lot of things in cars!
