I think back in her time, during her prime, it would've been blasphemous to refer to anyone as the "Queen of Christmas", because that would be the Virgin Mary if anyone, and of course the Prince/King of Christmas is Jesus. Nowadays people couldn't give a shit about religion so "Queen of Xmas" is okay for Mariah.
It is wierd that she wrote two of the best Christmas songs ever and barely got noticed - at the time I guess home alone 2 was considered too over the top and an inferior sequal so no one really re watched it, but now there are tons of far crappier home alone movies it now ranks a solid number 2 in the franchise and people have realised it had this great song attached.

I feel like this song is quite underrated, but it’s one of my fav Christmas songs ever. I feel a special connection to it can’t event explain. A mix of feelings and happy memories from when I was a kid and those really happy Christmases.
