This track is one of the most played christmas tracks on our radio station (In NL). The fact I am here, says enough about the track. It gets never bored.
I'm surprised if I hear a Christmas song on the radio in the town I live in...this town sucks so I listen to the radio station in my home town I grew up in. How sad what ever happened to this world Dec 1 there was Christmas music everyone not now 😞
I think back in her time, during her prime, it would've been blasphemous to refer to anyone as the "Queen of Christmas", because that would be the Virgin Mary if anyone, and of course the Prince/King of Christmas is Jesus. Nowadays people couldn't give a shit about religion so "Queen of Xmas" is okay for Mariah.
It is wierd that she wrote two of the best Christmas songs ever and barely got noticed - at the time I guess home alone 2 was considered too over the top and an inferior sequal so no one really re watched it, but now there are tons of far crappier home alone movies it now ranks a solid number 2 in the franchise and people have realised it had this great song attached.
Probably to show you the true meaning of Christmas, About using that time to give back to others and not being selfish opening your arms to family you don't see and abandoning all grudges... This is what my mother always told me whilst listening to this song, God I miss her so much...
You should never be forced to watch this Classic Movie and 80 times is never enough, give your mum a BIG hug from me, Merry Christmas 2021 to all your family
Im 20. When listening to this i remember back when i was a little kid and i realize something is different. Back then, christmas and New Years Eve had something so special. The world was so great, so quiet, so safe in my little mind. I woke up on Christmas and it felt so amazing. I ran to my parents and went crazy when i saw the presents, the tree, the snow. Everything. Now its just like "oh, right, its Christmas". I kinda miss that feeling. Anyone with me?
hang in there... Christmas can be magical again if you embrace it right. go to Rockefeller Cttr, see the tree. go to Christmas parties with old friends . watch the right movies and play the right songs. and when you have kids, well that just makes it like you, yourself, are a kid again at Christmas...
I don't think anything gets me in the mood for Christmas like home alone 2, I'm 30 and still love it. On another note, the sax totally makes this song.

Darlene's voice, Clarence's sax, Mac's mad mixing skills and production values, and the E Street Band; what's not to love? I still say this song deserved an Oscar nomination to go with John Williams's for Somewhere in My Memory from the first Home Alone film.

You'll never EVER be able to capture that magic again man... and that's a heartbreaking reality... but thank God we have memories

A literal time capsule this movie makes me so happy 😢
The cold wind is blowin' and the streets are getting dark
I'm writing you a letter and I don't know where to start
The bells will be ringing Saint John the Divine
I get a little lonely every year around this time
The music plays all night in Little Italy
The lights will be going up on old Rockefella's tree
People window shopping on Fifth Avenue
All I want for Christmas is you
I've got to know (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas)
Where do lonely hearts go (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas)
Because nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
Things are different since you've been here last
Childhood dreaming is a thing of the past
Maybe you can bring us some hope this year
Visions of sugar plums have disappeared
Do you remember sleigh riding in the snow
And dancing all night to "Baby, Please Come Home"
Today's celebration is bittersweet
There's mothers and children in the street
I wanna know (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas)
Where do lonely hearts go (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas)
No, nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
I'm all grown up but I'm the same you'll see
I'm writing this letter 'cause I still believe
Dear Santa I've been good this year
Can't you stay a little while with me right here, oh oh
Tell me, I've got to know (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas)
Where do lonely hearts go (Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas)
Because nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
Oh oh, nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
Oh oh, nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
