Always a wonderful tradition. Year after year watching Dave and Paul. Thanks for all the great memories.🎄
This made me cry. I love Christmas with David Letterman, Paul Schafer, and the Late Night Band. I miss this so much. 🥲
Merry Christmas 2023😊
@@MitchClement-il6iq Merry Christmas to you and to everybody!🎄☃️♥️
As much as I miss watching Letterman since his retirement, I miss this holiday tradition with Darlene Love belting out this beautiful song….
Actual goosebumps. Darlene is amazing
Yup. Goosebumps every time I see her sing this.
Indeed. Goosebumps each time I hear her sing it.
As soon as the snow started falling…. Chills!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Me too
I love that Dave and his partners on this show will reap the benefits of maintaining the rights to all his content. Genuinely the best late night show ever! 🙌🏻
Let's hope they treat Darlene better than Specter did.
@@greymannwouldn’t take much
@greymann You are so right! Thank goodness for David Letterman & Paul Shafer (sp?). Paul had played the song from hearing Phil Spector's Christmas Album. Finally, Darlene Love added to Dave's Legacy! Wouldn't feel like Christmas without it! Happy you are enjoying your life! NYC ❤️ 🇺🇸
As you get older, Christmas loses its charm bit by bit. It becomes more like a chore than a holiday. But then you hear Darlene open with "Christmas... Snows coming down." All the spirit and the wonder come back.
A powerhouse, every Christmas.
She makes aging respectable!
The first Queen of Christmas!!!
Always loved this tradition, the different arrangements each year, where Bruce Kapler was going to pop up from on the Sax solo, and the jib shot that would include the tree with the pizza, meatball and Empire State Building.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ Merry Christmas Dave & Darlene!!! And thank you this wonderful tradition 🎄
This was a Christmas tradition that I was sorry to see end when Dave retired. This particular year with the military was my favorite one. Merry Christmas!!!!
Nobody sings this song like Darlene Love,
Nothing compares to Darlene Love 💕
I loved this so much every year!!
Darlene and the gently falling asbestos get me every time.
The only Christmas song I care for. Every year they made it a bigger production. Honestly, even the small simple ones were great.
David Sanborn popping out of a gift box was pretty good tho.
This might be one of my all time favorite Christmas performances. I loved Darlene Love on Letterman every Christmas. Wonderful memories
Miss seeing Darlene perform this each Christmas on Dave. Wish Jimmy Kimmel would start the tradition
The view had her sing the song a few years ago
Darlene Love with Paul and a bevy of great musicians always makes me happy.
True entertainment brings people together.
Thank you David!!!!
I miss this every year. Wow this version just brought tears down my face. And a full heart. Love Dave. love Darlene. So fun to watch Dave’s band head bopping in the back. ADORE LETTERMAN !!!!
My new favorite Christmas song. Absolutely love this!!!
The sound quality is AMAZING
This is such a great tradition, still! Thanks Dave, Darlene and gang
This is what REAL music and singing is about folks..
My fave Xmas song, sung by the most amazing set of pipes, on my fave late night show - it was a fantastic TV Xmas tradition indeed.
Such talent she's amazing. Merry Christmas everybody.
This version's amazing, but her last time performing this on the show in 2014 was the best one.
thanks for that information- 2014 was spectacular
@@SuperSawyerg Yea, I found it on here a few days ago. Seeing her and the horn player on the piano with the snow coming down and just the whole thing...was very, very well done!
Will certainly miss them
Always enjoyed listening to
Darlene Love
Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄
And - Happy Hanukkah! 🕎
Merry Christmas 2023😊
The greatest Christmas tradition since spiked eggnog ❤️ Love Darlene!!
PLEASE POST EVERY ONE OF THESE!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!
Merry Christmas 2023
This is my fave Christmas song for a long time, not necessarily this version but still great... Christmas is not just cheesy happy times, it can be bittersweet so that's why I like this song
I watch these every year
Amazing performance. Spirit of the sixties and for all time.
The greatest.
Wonderful! Can't help but notice the original air date, though.
The great choral sound from the Singing Sergeants really makes this version.
A great network tv moment
While in the Air Force I had the opportunity to work on this particular show while in Bosnia, pulling cable and manning a camera for a few of Biff's bits. It'd awesome if you all would post this entire episode as my VHS copy has bitten the dust.
Dave thanks doesn't✌✌✌✌ get any better
What a woman ❤
The first note dropping gave me the chills. Now it's really Christmas.
Merry Christmas 2023! 😊
@@MitchClement-il6iq And Merry Christmas to you, my friend.
love the way the song starts tbh... the band starts then she drops in right after for full effect. !
The only version is Darlene !
I love this song so much!
Just can't beat it.
Does it get any better than this? I dodnt think so.....
Merry Christmas everyone!
🫶❤️🫶
SWEET!!!!!
Much love to Mariah but this slays (literally haha)
The UK in 2023 is grey and miserable....but this is wonderful..Merry Christmas one and all.
They'll believe me, citizen.
that line just shot over the heads of two entire generations... :-) ...Hi yo Silver, away!!!
OMG !! wow
LOVE THIS USAF 1969 - 1975!
Her looks reminds me of Tina Turner in Tina's later years
This is beautiful.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Bruce Kapler on the saxophone, ladies and gentlemen!
Incredible
Darlene Love sing Christmas with the USAF Band!!! How freaking Awesome back in the day!
This is as close to perfection as we'll get in this world. Ms. Love was in terrific voice, the slinky, glittering black dress looked great, the Singing Sergeants and the shots via satellite of the troops were a wonderful idea.
Always look forward to hearing this around Christmas
Task Force Eagle, Bosnia SFOR-7
Rates up there with Mahler’s 2nd…
Darlene love + Karen carpenter sorely missed but ill bet thought of every Xmas
Can she sing Christmas Time for the Jews instead?
