Loved V13 super comfy but able to go fast as well. V14 seems to have scaled back on both fronts. Off to check internet for any remaining 13s out there.
With the increased price here in Australia, it's hard to pick 1080v14 over Balos, which is still soft but bouncier and more fun to run in. But no one seems to talk about that shoe anymore.
V13 is awesome ot has same foam as the more V5 1080v14 has new slightly stiffer foam, because peeps be complaining that its too soft... which means weight increase... Good job.
i've been looking at the 1080 for a couple of years but never pulled the trigger. i just did last night on the 1080 V14. I work retail and plan on using these as my work shoe. I have a ton of comfort shoes including the NB More Trail V3 which are great. i look forward to wearing these when i get them on Sunday.
I don't really see the point of buying shoes just for recovery runs. I just use my older shoes, because I do not really care about pace when doing recovery running.
Untill you get to an age where all runs are basically recovery, and require the plush protective layer. That and walking comfort are the money makers, when actuall fast runners are the much smaller bunch.
These type of shoes is good for people who is just starting running, esp when they are out of shape and are overweight. Comfortable shoes make them actually more motivated to run more often.
Hey Ben, Love the channel. As a new runner you have been extremely helpful. For someone looking for a great second run of the day shoe. How would you say the 1080 stacks up against the Gel nimbus 26. I’ve been torn on which one to buy. Thanks for across the pond!
I have worn the 1080v13 more than any other shoe this year, but I have not been running much in the. Agree they are a bit too soft for running, but great for casual and walking. I'm running more in the More v5, but also wearing that casual. Also have the Balos which beats both of those for running, but I wouldn't really wear casual. So if it were me I'd skip the 1080v14 and get the Balos if running is the main use, but go 1080 if you want to wear casually.
I have been a fan of the 1080 since the V10. I have given up running road races and moved into trail ultras...but...I need a road running shoe to do some of the longer distance training and not speed work. The V10's were my favourite ever, will the V14 be good for an easy 5 hour 25mile training run?
I’m looking for a shoe that I can wear all day to work and to the gym, maybe sometimes for jogging as well. I’m deciding whether I should get the NB 1080 v14 or Asics Novablast 4, any suggestions please?
In my opinion puma magnify nitro 2 is a much better option compared to 1080, gel nimbus etc. Feels lighter, ideal comfort but not squishy. Is responsive and can be better to pick up pace and is very cheap now
I used to use the V10 and V11 for marathon paced and tempo runs. It seems these V14s aren't great for that. What's out there in a wide fitting for those type of runs now? I'm in a Hoka Mach 6 now, but it's not a patch on the comfort of the old 1080s I used to use (I went through a pair every 5-6 weeks for years!). Asics, like most companies, don't do firmer and lighter speed orientated shoes for wide feet, so I can't use the Novablast.
Still on 1080 v12's (stocked up given the v13 reviews) but they're close to needing replacing. Given I use them for faster 5K's as well as longer runs, it sounds like I may need to look at Asics then.
I love my 1080 v12's also. Just got the v14's and they're not as comfortable. Everything is great except the ankle part seems taller and tighter. It rubs against the inside of my ankle and it's really uncomfortable. I wish I had stocked up on the v12's... not sure where to find them now. Any suggestions?
Shame not more versatile. I need wide 2e width shoes. Do you think Saucony Ride better daily trainer for faster efforts as think that comes in a wide and I want non plated as well.
@@zanepritchard3600 I had two new pairs sitting in the box and completely ignored them for months until recently. I was only running in the Speed 2 but I think the higher drop and more heel stability are really giving my calf muscles a much needed break.
Sorry, i don't understand such comments. It makes much more sense to listen to your own body, Aaron. You will run in the shoe, no one else. Sporty greetings from Berlin🙋♂
In terms of sizing on 1080 how do folks find in comparison to Nike? I'm a UK 10 in Nike but having tried on the v14 1080 I think I'd need a UK 11 as they really seem to come up small. My old v11's don't seem to have this problem (they're UK 10) and I hear the v12's are actually quite roomy however v13 and v14 seem to come up small. Anyone else find this?
Great job on video.. however, a suggestion, you may want on next video, don't have any 'tobacco chew' pinch in your lower front lip, it's looks awkward, distraction.. just a suggestion

Have the shoe since two weeks and i absolutly love it for my daily training. For me in the meantime one of the best daily trainers out there. :)

I haven’t tried the balos yet they are really comfortable eh ?
Too expensive, that's why.
There’s only 30 dollars difference here in Australia and the Balos is a great shoe, much bouncier.
I love my Novablast 4. Anything over 10k I use the Supers, which are wonderful.
Same here. They are all I need
V13 is awesome ot has same foam as the more V5

How have they been so far if you received them? And is the fit true to size?
how is it so far ?
Can I just say Ben, found your channel at about 45k subs - just think you're a top bloke mate.
I love my 1080s. I did Chicago in them.
Black, perfect shoe for British winter ❄️ 😊

But we or maybe just I 😂 love an excuse to buy yet another pair of shoes 🎉🎉🎉
@@karlbratby4349 we all do it lol

Once your mileage gets high enough you will get it.
Thanks for all the conversions!! Great review thanks
6:09 New adidas Boston 14??? Skipping model 13?

Thanks for across the pond!
I absolutely loved the softness of 13. Was nice for the end of the week when the mileage was taking its toll on my legs.
I haven’t had time to do a lot of runs in this shoe yet, but it’s so comfortable. It’s one of those shoes that gets me excited to run in

I also found them too soft for running & have relegated them for casual use.
Currently using the Asics Gel Cumulus 26 for all my runs (first pair of running shoes). Any recommendations for my next pair?

Thanks for your review I got my hands on a pair of Novablast 4 last week. Loving them so far, but... how do you clean your running shoes?
Good to know Ben got Boston 14! How are they?!)))
😆ahead of the game by 2 generations

I switched to 1080x13 from saucony triumph and then I got v5 too and V5 forever my favorite now!
I forgot about knee and joints ❤
Prefere my NB More V4 over the 1080. Use them for slow runs. My "better" everyday shoe is the Hoka Clifton 9 (just the more conplete shoe).
Have you tried the more v5?
In my opinion puma magnify nitro 2 is a much better option compared to 1080, gel nimbus etc. Feels lighter, ideal comfort but not squishy. Is responsive and can be better to pick up pace and is very cheap now
Waaaaah, I loved the v.13. So a version that is heavier and firmer is out for me. Maybe the Balos of the More v.5. We shall see.
i fuck with the balos. its like running in a mini trampoline
Thanks for the great review! Would you recommend this for long-distance runs, like 20K at an easy pace, or not?
Version 13 are fantastic casual shoes 😊 so comfortable
Love your stuff Ben!! Thanks!
I've recently purchased the supercomp Trainer v2 as a beginner, solely on your word. You did Not steer me wrong, sir! Thanks!

Can you review the brooks glycerin max🙏
I sure do miss the New Balance Beacon ... wonder whats on the market with that feeling
i like the V13 😂 Love the squish especially in a marathon training block.

Boston 14 on other foot showing the grip test? Am I missing something?

Just purchased that Green Long Sleeve running Tee 🙌🏽
What are those green socks you're wearing in this Ben?
More comfy than asics gel nimbus 26?
Undecided on More vs 1080. I'm currently using 1080v12 and More v3 and have a few spares so I won't have to decide until next summer.
can you recommend more shoes as soft as the 1080v13? I'm not a runner, I just like to walk on the treadmill or at work.
Nike Invincible 3
Great video thanks for the information ❤
No mention of the drop reduction the last 2 models, used to love these but no more ,will shred my achilles.
I am enjoying the Triumph 20 way more than the 1080 V12 that I have.
Love my triumph 20s!

Which ones are better for wearing all day and long fast walks. V13, v14 or more v5? Can't run right now gitna new knee I'm working with.
I would say the v13 the softest for the knees
Love the green long sleeve tee 👍🏾
Do you sell those white shorts
I've returned these after 1 run - my feet were boiling, and I found them clunky underfoot - personal preference though
Would you pick this or the Hoka Skyflow if you had to pick between the two?

This or Mach 6 Ben for every day pal
vid already needs a update with NB5 released.
The v11 was always my favourite…
Dear Ben, I just joined your group. Please suggest a model for long walks, not running. My opinion was Under Armor Infinity Lite.
He says that these were good for long distance walks. 🤔👍
What are your thoughts on the ASICS cumulus 26?
bought v13 and the softest shoe i try but i its kinda mid. i like fuel cell rebelv4 more and its the better shoe.
You said that about the More V5 lol.... great shoes all in all.

I miss my 1080 V10s
Boston 14?
Crazy price when you can buy Puma Nitros and others on discount for under £100.00. I agree they’ll be on e bay within weeks 😮😂
How about super blast
plese do the illegal adidas strungs
WRONG ITS THE NEW BALANCE FRESH FOAM X MORE V5 WHICH IS KING
I miss my v11s :(
It’s just too expensive, this should be £120 imo. £160 is obscene, that should be a supershoe price range.
Boston 14???? LEAK!!! 😆
Rather pay more and try the Balos. I already have the Novablast 3, Rebel v3 and the 880 v12 Goretex as daily trainers.
How does this compare to the Asics NB4?
Ignore 😂😂
Ben always racing the Uber Boat :D
£160 too much. They’ll be a pair on eBay sooner or later
Great job on video.. however, a suggestion, you may want on next video, don't have any 'tobacco chew' pinch in your lower front lip, it's looks awkward, distraction.. just a suggestion
Finally… been waiting for a while… 💪
There are many, many better shoes than this one.
