Hi Travis. Really enjoyed watching your video. Just wondering what your go to aperture is when shooting indoors? I'm just starting to move into shooting wedding photography and recently purchased canon 70-200 f/2.8 USM IS ii. I seem to be finding that at 2.8 the DoF can be too short and I don't always get enough sharpness. I'm tending to go for 3.5 or f/4. Just be interested to see what your thoughts are on this. Thanks
Canon 70-200 2.8L IS is my goto lens 99% of the time.. and it's pretty much super glued at 2.8. Sharpness has never been an issue.. BUT.. with that said, its possible you have a soft copy. The best way to buy glass.. is to use a credit card, and order three of the same thing (from B&H) and then test each of them wide open, and keep the sharpest copy. I have seen some pretty different results over the years on the same lens..
Hey Travis What holster do you use ? i'm also looking for a good one what can carry 70-200 2.8 with battery grip fcking amazing shots by the way greetzzz
Yes.. I started off shooting "models" and did some work with Maxim.. and other little projects.. I bought, and used strobes since day one.. I love the control and consistent results.
Too many photos :) what's that?? Well done Sir! What did you use for OCF with the Dad's first look? They had a different look to them. Thanks for your videos..
Great video. Apart from the weight of the head (mitigated by an assistant, or sand bags) the way you talk, it really sounds like Broncolor Siros 800Ls would be the light for you... Not Profoto B1s. They have great power and fabulous battery life. They are also super tough (mine have already hit the ground more than I want to admit) and sync wonderfully up to 1/8000 sec. Rent a couple of Siros Ls, I think you'll be impressed! Oops, I meant to post this on ELINCHROM QUADRA HIGH SPEED SYNC | BEHIND THE SCENES video.
Manual all the time, 100%, 24/7. I never let the camera, or a flash system (TTL) dictate any settings.... this makes post processing a nightmare.. you always want a consistent exposure value no matter what.
LOL, It all depends on the moments. Shooting a static item, or a posed shot.. its a different story for sure. However, shooting live moments.. its good to get more data then you need, and then you can pick the best to showcase as I have here in the video. I have a pretty elaborate workflow that I have done a video on, and to be honest, it takes me about 4hrs to turn around any wedding that I shoot back to clients. So, it all depends on how your setting yourself up after the fact.
your an inspiration man, so good to witness a truly talented photographer and also someone that can develop such a fun bond with clients!
Thank so much Tom! I appreciate that!
Fits of giggles half way through and in tears at the end, what a video, I love it, fantastic pictures too.

Thanks so much.. the OCF for the first look was just a speed light camera right in the rear.

Cheers Buddy

awesome
Any special reason you went with what looks like a 70-200 in what looks like small rooms.
Compression. To be able to compress the background, and separate the subject.
Is incredible the number of photos you take in one scene, it's too much for me, you almost are filming and that's not right

7:09 - Oh NO!! Not for me. The rest is fab. Great energy and engagement / manipulation otherwise
LOl, not looking for open critique :-) But thanks! She loved it, all that matters.
American cheese is worlds away from Scottish :) As you said: As long as the client is happy . . . @@travisharrisphotography
@@Deemac41 I have no idea what that means LOL. Anyway, it's just a video to show people how I work. Not trying to win an award here :-)
