When you ever feel a little flat and tired of photography Sam Hurd is the man to get you excited all over again
Two of my favorite photographers together!
Funny story, I started taking Taylor Jackson's classes over youtube/patreon and stuff when starting my business, then he randomly popped by me when I was working a small kiosk in a Las Vegas mall. A few years later I'm happy to say I have been paying all of our family's bills with just my wedding business, over 300 weddings done. This stuff is so awesome. Thanks for the content man, you helped change our lives.
Hahah I remember this! Was so random. Happy to hear you’re doing well!
I can't count how many times I said, "God, this guy is so GOOD!" This was great, thanks for sharing this Taylor!
AWESOME! thank Sam for teaching. Thanks Taylor for recording and sharing ! Saved this for later 😅 to watch it over and over again ❤
Thanks for the sharing, Taylor and thanks to Sam Hurd for all the teaching and tips... great video!!!
Such a great tutorial! And that prism photo with the hedge backdrop is incredible!! Lots of great lessons here though, love how you incorporated hands, tattoo, flowers, etc. 🙌🔥
6:00 When breaking the rules just works! Never would I thought a photo of someone with the distance eye in focus could be so perfect! Mind blowing photo Mr. Sam Hurd!!!!
So many helpful tips in one video!
This guy Sam seems to know what he’s doing
I literally learn so much from him everytime. He changed my photography forever.
I enjoyed this! loved the comment where he said "If i'm not saying anything, assume that you're doing what I want you to do." I had trouble explaining that to people before or I usually explain it later in the shoot. Doing this straight off the bat will put them at ease.
9:46 Lady waving behind the window. Masterpiece.
I'm a new subscriber and damn....it feels like I should be paying for a lot of your content. Incredibly useful information that doesn't feel like a rehash of the same topics other channels churn out ad infinitum. Sam got some fantastic shots. Great stuff.
thanks! i share a lot more consistently over on patreon 🙌
I really like listening to Sam speak and the way he teaches. Please come to the Netherlands 💛
Great Video!!
Bad Light and windy day OMG that was stressful to watch, thanks Taylor!!
Sam is so inspirational!!
ha ha love it, bad light, bad wind...can't wait to see what comes out of it!
love the cap!
awesome video! Question - are lens hoods not needed? Especially when shooting in areas with harsh sunlight?
Love this lens, i have the sigma trio of f1.4 lenses and the 18 to 50 f2.8 i have no native lens at the moment. Use it with the XT2 and XT3 for portrait shoots and wedding photos and videos, i love the price quality ratio you get with the sigma lenses. The 18-50 is an awesome video lens, slap a variable ND filter on wnd your good till it is dark, then switch to the 1.4 primes
he just creatively genius...th prism shots we're amazing💥💥
this is gold
niceee
Sams skills are just insane !
Hawaii has some interesting challenges for photography!
Soooo wondeful, sooo niceee.Alot of tips !! Thanks alot! Can Sam shoot Nikon next time ? :)) Have a nice day Taylor!
I’m a Maui local and I saw this advertised but was honestly skeptical, but now I’m really regretting not signing up. Please make another one next year!!!
We’ll for sure be doing another, but it will likely travel to a different location sadly. This septembers is in Banff www.bookfocal.com/banff
so my question is if she/her is not beautiful, how do you handle this situation?
Link to the prism pls!
I want to get this piece of glass, I don't know its name, what is it called??
which slingbag sam is using? thx.
Tip: when you try to position your models on the border of the shade, but like a few centimeters from this border, ask them to look at their shadows and move back until they disappear.
Also when you want your model to have the sun directly in their back, ask them to turn their nose in the direction created by their shadow.
Simple, foolproof methods, you explain it once, then you just ask to "disappear your shadow" or for "nose to to shadow" and it's done :)
What a goldmine!
🙌
Hi, might have missed it ,but where did you get the camera bag backpack thingy?
Found it-thanks! TurnStyle® 20 V2.0
Great photographer.
LMAO listening to sam hurd is hilarious because thats exactly what i sound like when giving directions, maybe... yea yeayea that, thats beautiful, maybe with your hands, good good good. LMAO dying
i need more words 😂
i need more words 😂
That’s an endangered flower😂
can you tell me what kind of lens use on eos r3? specially when to do close up?
I think sam was all RF 50 1.2 L and EF 24 1.4 this day
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto nice, thank you for your answer
he asking : are you comfotable with sitting
her : yeah i m cool with sitting on a hot plate :)
13:40 I prefer lens hoods on, no caps, I'm not a big flare-shooter, but It's been about six years since I've used a lens cap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pretty easy to handle bad light when you can direct your subjects. Would love to see how that Sam Hurd guy handles bad light during ceremonies, where half of the people are in direct sunlight and the couple is in the shade.
I think in that case it is what it is
so long story short if the lightings not good get in a spot where the lighting is good, got it
Here we have it, the best photographer
Some say he exists entirely on a diet of Taco Bell
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto and I mean, I wish I could too
"I almost never have a plan" :-)
Sam has a plan at Taco Bell
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto I mean, who doesn’t?
Sam really seems like a nice guy
Danke!
Sam Hurd is him
It's lit like that in Hawaii all the time. Get over it.
Okay
No such thing as bad light unless there's no light.
After the first 1:30 I have a feeling this is the worst lighting possible, with not a cloud in the sky 🤔
where do they find these beautiful couples (mostly the woman)
Haha Focal arranges the couples. Www.bookfocal.com/banff for the next one!
Who is Sam Hurd?
Sam Hurd is
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto iamthesam
That question hurt me....
Haven't you heard?
Haven’t You Hurd would be a great name for Sam’s solo morning podcast
That ain't sam hurd. Thats Adam lazarra lol
So is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with
'Cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish
I've seen more guts in 11 year old kids
Wait that’s not right
