Taka is criminally underrated singer/vocalist. We should introduce him more. Especially unto those K-Pop fans. Let them hear, what true singing sounded like. Not just some pretty faces, who barely can sing, they've idolized all these time.

You need to check out their live performances in front of super large Japanese crowds. Their fans, and there are lots of them, love him, and sometimes half the show is just how well the band and the Japanese crowds interact.

One Ok Rock has the best live concerts ever..ive been to two of them here in Los Angeles and man i will never forget them. Taka is an amazing vocalist and has some killer rock songs !

Oh hell yeah! This is the kind of technical voice analysis I’ve been searching for. Always wondered what a professional would think of my favorite vocalist.
You definitely should check out their live performances as they are even better than their studio versions. Really hope you react to more of their songs! I will be looking forward to it.
Is this your first time listening to ONE OK ROCK? They are an amazing band and Taka is an amazing vocalist. He definitely always makes it look easy when he sings. You should check out his cover of Adele's Hello on the official OOR channel. So good! I also suggest you try watching some of OOR's live performances of their faster songs like The Beginning or Mighty Long Fall. Clock Strikes would also make for an interesting analysis. Make sure to watch the live versions though!

OOR was my favorite band back in college and Heartache was one of their many songs that would give me chills 😁 Clock Strikes, Wherever You Are, and CHAOSMYTH included!

YAASS ONE OK ROCK! My fav rock band! He barely use falsetto in all of their songs. He usually belting their rock and metal songs. This song is just they wanna show people that they can sing soft heartbreaking song too. The vocalist is well known for his powerful voice and breath control when he jumps around all over the live stage but keep his voice stable. Please do more reaction for them on the live performances, it's even more entertaining. Give it a try for One Ok rock - Clock Strikes and One Ok Rock - Take what you want, live performances.
This surprised me!! I live in Japan and have always thought these guys would do well abroad. It's pronounced "One O'Clock" BTW. His parents are also both famous Enka singers.

Yes, enka. Overseas they themselves say "One Oh-kay Rock" though so it's fine to pronounce the band's name that way.
Oh, I see. Yeah, I pronounced it that way until I saw it on TV and they said "One O'Clock" . It makes sense because I imagine they would get sick of explaining it every time.
I'm glad they have fans abroad. Chaosmyth is one of my favourite songs of all time. Reminds me of 00's UK rock/Hoobastank etc.
I probably have them, Baseball Bear and Asian Kung-fu Generation to thank for my fluency in Japanese.

Thanks for analysing Taka's voice - the few vocal coach reactions to his voice affirm that he's a strong and controlled vocalist. It's interesting that Taka's origins is in rock, so he can add more compression and grit into his voice, and goes up and down his vocal range seemingly effortlessly. Despite all the screaming he does in rock songs, it never ceases to amaze me that he has a beautiful voice when singing ballad. Actually, he was in a boy group when he was a lot younger called NEWS. So I'd say his origins is from pop. I could be wrong ofc.
Taka's vocals has always been a great amazement to me, since their early days until now. Thanks for reacting to OOR. They're a great band and I do recommend seeing them live, it's definitely like listening to the studio recorded version and much better with all the little extras they add in their performances.

These guy's change a lot of their songs in there Studio Jam sessions and live concerts, Taka's voice in their live performances are just outstanding. Performances definitely worth checking out are Good Goodbye Live at Saitama, Clock Strikes live at Yokohama, Wherever You Are at the Ambitions Live Tour 2017, All Mine live for Jinsei x Boku, Pierce live, Et Cetera live, there are just so many ;-;

OMG 😁 I’m so happy to see this. One ok rock is one of my most beloved groups. I saw them live last year, here in Argentina, and they were amazing. They sound better live! They always give their best. Taka has a beautiful voice with great control, I hope you react more of them. Thanks 😊

You say its weird for Taka to be in both the compressed place and the relaxed place, but he's just one of those vocalists that can do these amazing things with a lot of ease. He's truly spectacular, and i'd love to for you do a song that is more in the rock genre. Kanzankaku Dreamer is a great one

Taka is probably my favorite singer. He is incredible, traveled from Norway to London to see them some weeks ago since they dont come here this year. Watch Clock Strikes, it's so good! Taka's voice is really unique and amazing.

If you want to react to another japanese band, maybe you could try L'Arc~en~Ciel? I love their vocalist. His singing style is really j-rock-like (at least j-rock from middle to late 90s/early 2000s, I don't really follow j-rock currently). I really like the concert they did in Madison Square Garden (specially the song Jojoushi or forbidden lover, which are two of my favorite songs from them) and it's really easy to find videos from that concert on TH-cam.

Jesus I've never clicked on a video this fast before! My wifi has been out for almost two months now and this is the first video I watched (meh data) since then ugh yES!!! Thank youuu for reacting and analyzing Heartache by OOR! 💜 Taka (vocalist) has almost always had that edge in his voice so when they do acoustic it has this crisp and clarity and I LOVE IT. Two more acoustic songs (version, more like) that I love are Taking Off and Bombs Away. I think I commented about them before haha! Thanks again for the video!
