    One of those 'must do' jobs in any garage is putting in one of these! Without one, you will get water coming in under and around the door! The water infiltration will be especially bad when the wind is blowing against the door. The water will also follow any cuts made into the concrete, so that must be addressed as well if applicable. The larger door in this video has leaked in the past with a large puddle 6 to 8 feet into the room, and now will be completely dry in all weather. 😊

    Excellent Video containing good detail, clear product description, and start to finish instructions without having to watch another video. The detail includes information the manufacturer would not have included. My product also came from Amazon, but without instructions. Only two things not covered in the video. Temperature: When is too hot and when is it too cold; there has to be a range. What if the floor is not level? My floor is sloped to the middle as if to permit drainage so when the door is shut it meets the floor on the ends, but not in the middle; hence it does not contact threshold in middle and the gap is an invert slight arch. I did my best. Will what happens when it rains.

      I've never seen a floor sloped like that - that is very unusual. The hot and cold would just be within the range of the glue application (se label for that). Both products are highly flexible so it will not make a difference as long as it is within that range. I would go with the warmer end of the range though.

    I put one of these on my shed a few yeas back. I was getting water, dust and even leaves coming under the door! I did not seal the ends though, and it does leak there. Now I know why!

      Great! I used liquid flashing, but silicone should work. Just make sure to clean it very well first!

    I have a slightly crooked floor under my garage door. With the door completely closed, you can see a bit of light under one side. All kinds of junk and water comes in under there! The water makes it's way to the drain, but that's way in the middle of the room! I'll bet this would at least stop the water, but maybe seal the gap as well!

      If the gap isn't that large it could work. Possibly put in a larger seal on the bottom of the door as well.

    If you have a large gap the commercial solutions are impractical or very expensive. A cheap DIY solution is to prop a tongue-and-groove floorboard cut to the opening size at 45 degrees. You can also add triangular end pieces. Place tongue edge down for best seal. Wrap it in vinyl wrap for a nest finish. Simply move it out of the way when you want to open the door. You could put old socks filled with sand under it if you are expecting a flood.

    Hi Mojo, very professional job and a lot of patience needed to complete the job properly, well done. Have you ever tested your area for radon.

    • @PlanetMojo
      @PlanetMojo  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Larry, we had the well water tested, and there was no elevated radon there - very clean water - but we never checked the house or outbuildings. I just may do this as I would be interested to know!

    Do I need to adjust the garage door a little bit above the ground? I am afraid each time when I close the garage door all the way down and too much pressure mau damage the door. 🙏

      Mine is hand operated with a chain hoist, but if you have a garage door opener you would have to adjust that I believe.

    Hello Mojo! I was wondering if you could give me an update on how the door threshold is holding up? I’m looking at installing one in my shop, and curious how the Total Tech adhesive/sealant has held up? Thank you

    • @PlanetMojo
      @PlanetMojo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Zero problems. Just make sure everything is very clean and dry, and you should be good to go!

    If I understand you correctly, that a properly installed garage door threshold can seal out water against the door? I was thinking of getting a 2" seal, but I am wondering now if that matters? I have flooding from the storm drain in front of the door but it does not come in unless someone drives through the puddle.

    • @PlanetMojo
      @PlanetMojo  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, a door seal will seal-out water and/or leaves and other stuff. The seal that comes with the door rarely does that. If yours's doesn't leak, there is no need to seal it. 😊

    As in the other video I can’t tell if you left the bottom rubber seal on the door or removed it
