When I drag my second photo in even though it’s a color photo, it turns to black and white when I add it to the original image (which is black and white like yours). But your second image stayed color. Why does that happen? And how can I fix it?

Hey.
I guess your original image is in Grayscale mode (it only has one lonely Grey channel instead of the usual Red, Green, Blue channels).
What you have to do first is convert your Greyscale image to RGB (Image › Mode › RGB or something like that).
Then you can add color images and layers.
