funny, got into this band 7 years ago in 6th grade. they were the first actual music i listened to. now coming back after a brief break from it i realized how lucky i was to get it right the first time haha.
Dustin Kensrue = Thrice It astonishes me that anyone couldn't respect his vocals. Excellent vocalist, excellent lyricist, excellent songwritter and musician.
When I saw them play not to long ago, they played this song. The whole show was awesome, and was in an old theater, so when the moshing started the floor felt like it was going to cave in. THRICE FOREVER!!! :-)
After all these years and all these others artists I've listened to, I still come back to this band and proud to say they're my all time favorite band still. :D
I'm very happy and content to have had Thrice be the one social constant from the time I first heard them in 7th grade to now, as a 22 year old man. Thanks for the music guys, and I hope y'all make it back to writing new stuff whenever that time may come. Cheers!
Forever will this band be played on my computer/ipod at least once every time I turn them on. Greatest band to make music and make a huge impact on my life personally!
Gah! This song is so frickin EPIC!! No, scratch that. This BAND is so freakin EPIC!! I love them so much. They're so original and they play with real passion. They're not in this for popularity or money and they deserve respect for that. Long live THRICE!!
Saw them live in Cleveland w/ Alkaline Trio and Gaslight Anthem. Thought it was an odd tour, they didn't fit. Wasn't a fan prior, but seeing them live made my a fan. This song is gold.
wow.. this is an awesome video. the opening was epic. i love how clear ed's vocals are.. he's so soft spoken it's sweet to hear the guttural scream.. ha.
Yea, it is a shame that Thrice doesn't have a better following. The Artist In The Ambulance will always be my favorite song from them. I remember seeing this one live.
dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. i seriously hope so. i've been rewatching 'if we could only see us now' in preparation for the new one lolol. them making us wait is like twisting the knifeeee.
awesome song...i really wanted to soo what teppi was doing cause when i saw them live like a while ago he was playing the organ and finger picking his guitar...these guys are soo awesome!
It doesn't matter if there Christian based or not. There genius in every way. The lyrics are amazing and they really have matured over the years. Much respect to them for following their own path, not giving into to all the bullshit mtv trends.
Great Video. Cursing is overrated as a form of self expression. If you curse every other word it loses its emphasis. Cursing is the first sign of a limited vocabulary. It is also the first sign of insecurity because we usally begin cursing as adolescents to prove we are "grown up". Most people curse less as they mature regardless of their beliefs. Thrice Rocks!
come back to the UK you guys, damn youre missed here. Ill always remember meeting you guys at Camden and then seeing that stunning show at Brixton academy (this one). Always my absolute favorite band, yet I feel youre ignoring us Europeans, even though we totally love you
i love this band. they scream and it means something. not just because every other band screams in their songs ...this song is so great... you can live in the most "free" country on earth and still be a prisoner.
That's because this band has a lot of substance in it's music. There are some bands that scrape neat the top of the charts are actually well made and passionate, Thrice and Smashing Pumpkins probably being my favorite 2.
Yeah... it's been their closing song for a while now. I always get upset when they start to play it cause i know their set is over. Greatest band in the Universe... Ever!!!
I love how the intro to this song sounds on this recording. So beautiful, and imo much better than the album version. Also, at 4:04, it looks like I am looking up at God = )
This is an amazing song - never heard thrice sound this good before. For ye "screams but it means something" people - check out "Pain of Salvation" and even more importantly "Riverside". Both these bands have amazing vocalists with really gorgeous voices and amazing emotional roars. Riverside are also generally one of the most amazingly awesome bands you'll EVER hear.
that is such a cool song. the chorus at least is an old prison chant. in the origional recording they use an old record of the convicts singing as they break stones. it's realy cool.
open A is when you tune all your strings so low that you get an A minor or major chord (im not sure) when you strum all open strings. it looks like theyre playing drop A here, because hes picking powerchords in droptuning. and it sounds that way. just for information but this performance really makes the earth shake. fantastic
God created freewill beings(He didn't want to force us to love or follow Him) but He did this already knowing that there would be a rebellion at the highest level of His creation(the cherubim angels) which would lead to our ignorant rebellion(we don't even understand what we are doing or why we do it) God is using our own rebellion to perfect us...thats His purpose and plan we choose whether we learn from our mistakes or harden our hearts
I totally agree with ultrablue. This band is defenetly better now than during the artist in the ambulance times. Dustin sings better, rarely gets out of tone, and the performance is amazing. I really want to see them live.
yeah, lol everyone is going into detail I just hope that ppl who read this, stomp in the earth will shake when they see thrice coz it will be epic trust me
evryone just relax about who they are or not..kets just agree that they are an asoluetly amazing band though no arguments there. best live show ive ever seen and they sound they create on stage was more powerful then their recorded sound. love them. rad? rad.
@UnderDog988 you know, we all make mistakes depending on ourselves only, it is the worst way to face any challenge or obstacle in life, the best way is to follow into someone's footstep's who is trustworthy and I as a christian, has learned to put god in front of me, to lead and guide me through troubled times, to see beyond what science and technology can see so far now. i don't want to put pressure on you, but if you have ever felt lost or hopeless, it is our father that I put my faith into.
funny, got into this band 7 years ago in 6th grade. they were the first actual music i listened to. now coming back after a brief break from it i realized how lucky i was to get it right the first time haha.
Such a punch when the distortion starts, it hits hard and it's amazing!
I think this is still my favorite live Thrice video.
Same.. so much raw emotion and creativity in their music and it all comes out in this performance. I love the organ in the second verse. So cool.
thrice not only do songs, they do HYMNS.
hyms we will remember in 20 years
Dustin Kensrue = Thrice
It astonishes me that anyone couldn't respect his vocals. Excellent vocalist, excellent lyricist, excellent songwritter and musician.
there isint a number to tell how much I love it
I have all ther songs
One of their greatest live songs. Crowd would make the earth shake; an unreal experience!
This is the best Performance I have ever seen by thice. They are amazing. Just amazing. That is all there is to say.

This has to be the most badass Thrice video I've seen. I can't stop watching it.
Thanks for the post because I don't think many Thrice fans realize thats what this song is about.
The memories of being in the pit for their shows will never be forgotten! The most intimite way to connect to their music.
Forever will this band be played on my computer/ipod at least once every time I turn them on. Greatest band to make music and make a huge impact on my life personally!
One of the sickest live vids on youtube period
Happy to say I was here at this gig, somewhere near the front on the right. First time seeing Thrice. It was amazing.
i love how they start the show off with a calm tempo, and then go right in to the HEAVINESS!!! YESS
Gah! This song is so frickin EPIC!! No, scratch that. This BAND is so freakin EPIC!! I love them so much. They're so original and they play with real passion. They're not in this for popularity or money and they deserve respect for that. Long live THRICE!!
I was 2 when i first started listening to this band, now I'm 6 and a half and I am glad I got into them
this song never fails to give me goosebumps
This is one of my favorite songs from them. I love the build up at the end with the foot stomping. This was awesome live and this is an awesome video.
I love how they play it in B or something like that.
Close! AADGBE tuning. Like Neurosis

Best Performance Ever.
thrice is the BEST!
A great song and they are a very good live band. I got to see them a few years ago and it was awesome.
Great songs, awesome shows, why the hell don't more people know about Thrice? They are way better than half the crap on the radio nowadays.
The crowd isnt even rocking out, they are awestruck!
How EPIC it would have been to be at that show. WOW.
Thrice became more then just a band. they became an artist.
i love singing to this
WE DREAM OF BLACK NIGHTS WITHOUT MOON OR STAAARS!
Was here for this at Brixton Academy. Coheed & Cambria were on before
Jacob Lee what an epic show. Coheed opened for thrice? For real?
YAY! i get to watch them live next month!!
Hell yeah and it was AMAZING!
Yea, it is a shame that Thrice doesn't have a better following. The Artist In The Ambulance will always be my favorite song from them.
I remember seeing this one live.
Sounds like bass boost, best I've ever heard this song :D
I would love to see them live... This song is so good.
True story... i love this song!!!
dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
i seriously hope so.
i've been rewatching 'if we could only see us now' in preparation for the new one lolol.
them making us wait is like twisting the knifeeee.
Love this song!!!!
awesome song...i really wanted to soo what teppi was doing cause when i saw them live like a while ago he was playing the organ and finger picking his guitar...these guys are soo awesome!
It's a Gibson RD, they came out with a limited run model earlier this year, but it was silverburst. They usually pop up on ebay from time to time.
haha i went to the brand new show just for thrice. left right after and met dustin too!
It doesn't matter if there Christian based or not. There genius in every way. The lyrics are amazing and they really have matured over the years. Much respect to them for following their own path, not giving into to all the bullshit mtv trends.
This is amazing.

joli yisas fac D: es la mejor version en vivo ke he visto :C tantas noches desperdiciadas....
thats an amazing song played live
so did i. incredible song to end on.
come back to the UK you guys, damn youre missed here. Ill always remember meeting you guys at Camden and then seeing that stunning show at Brixton academy (this one). Always my absolute favorite band, yet I feel youre ignoring us Europeans, even though we totally love you
i love this band. they scream and it means something. not just because every other band screams in their songs ...this song is so great... you can live in the most "free" country on earth and still be a prisoner.
and i like everything after it. to each his own
This may not be my favorite song by Thrice but god damn is it amazing live. So much better if you happen to be at a venue with a wooden floor. :)
That's because this band has a lot of substance in it's music. There are some bands that scrape neat the top of the charts are actually well made and passionate, Thrice and Smashing Pumpkins probably being my favorite 2.
Thats amazing live
Yeah... it's been their closing song for a while now. I always get upset when they start to play it cause i know their set is over. Greatest band in the Universe... Ever!!!
they said it would always be the last song. it is their favorite to play. :D !
at one point this video was available for download on Thrice's old webpage when they were under the island record label.
I love how the intro to this song sounds on this recording. So beautiful, and imo much better than the album version. Also, at 4:04, it looks like I am looking up at God = )
i reckon itll be out after the aus tour
WHICH I CANT WAIT 4! ITS KILLIN ME!!!
I am so jealous of everyone in that crowd
this is Brixton academy in london UK, on their vs tour with coheed in feb 2006
They always end with this one.
Thrice is a huge influence on my band's music.
On myspace search Atilanta.
I love Ed's screams.
that is such a cool song. the chorus at least is an old prison chant. in the origional recording they use an old record of the convicts singing as they break stones. it's realy cool.
in the slew of shitty punk coming out at that time THRICE was the only band that stood out.
the guitar that dustin is playing is the one in the stare at the sun video!!! that guitar kicks it!!!
This is SICK
open A is when you tune all your strings so low that you get an A minor or major chord (im not sure) when you strum all open strings. it looks like theyre playing drop A here, because hes picking powerchords in droptuning. and it sounds that way. just for information
but this performance really makes the earth shake. fantastic
its so wierd seeing dustin on youtube with all of these people praising him and all of these views..when i spend the holidays with him..
I'm sure there will be a better live version than this. I'm excited as hell.
hey does anyone know what guitar that is that dustin is playing?
as much as dustin screams it's amazing he can keep his voice almost perfect
WHOA i didnt know he still had/ used that guitar...he used that in the stare at the sun music video too
HAha, the crowd can't even move, they are just in shock at the amaziness that is Thrice.
God created freewill beings(He didn't want to force us to love or follow Him) but He did this already knowing that there would be a rebellion at the highest level of His creation(the cherubim angels)
which would lead to our ignorant rebellion(we don't even understand what we are doing or why we do it)
God is using our own rebellion to perfect us...thats His purpose and plan

I don't know what Dustin had for breakfast when he worked on this song, but whatever it was, I want it.
Wow I really like how the caMERA WON'T FOCUS HOLY SHIT.
I wish I was there.
thanks for that lesson
the lights are genius
Did Dustin at 3:13 have the most epic vocals ever? His voice was so hi pitched... it's awesome! His vocal range is great!
amazing
OMG Thrice live rulez!
I totally agree with ultrablue. This band is defenetly better now than during the artist in the ambulance times. Dustin sings better, rarely gets out of tone, and the performance is amazing. I really want to see them live.
the top string is tuned to A with the rest in standard set tuning, this is why it sounds that way.
i love that gibson rd artist...
yeah, lol everyone is going into detail
I just hope that ppl who read this, stomp in the earth will shake when they see thrice coz it will be epic trust me
4:32-5:09 is my favorite part of the song!!
So good.
great music
Vheissu was already a great departure from what was their style.
evryone just relax about who they are or not..kets just agree that they are an asoluetly amazing band though no arguments there. best live show ive ever seen and they sound they create on stage was more powerful then their recorded sound. love them.
rad?
rad.
amazing. thumbs up
aw, they didnt get the stomping in. in denver we got the stomp deal, it was sweet.
@UnderDog988 you know, we all make mistakes depending on ourselves only, it is the worst way to face any challenge or obstacle in life, the best way is to follow into someone's footstep's who is trustworthy and I as a christian, has learned to put god in front of me, to lead and guide me through troubled times, to see beyond what science and technology can see so far now. i don't want to put pressure on you, but if you have ever felt lost or hopeless, it is our father that I put my faith into.
exactly the word I am thinking of.
they did end with this song in grand rapids last monday!
