    Absolutely gorgeous plate. Have the biggest urge to try and carve a wooden plate. Wood you say this was beginner friendly or more advance? Excellent work!

      It is kind a like a bowl. Just a bit more difficult because of you need to figure out how to clamp it. I believe it is all visible in the video. Good luck

    Absolutely wonderful, thank you so much for sharing this work of art.
    I just had to ask, what is the purpose of the nook in the rim of the plate (if not for esthetic purposes)?

      Probably it's where you put your thumb when you pick the plate up.

      Well wooden plates are made usually on wood lathe. I like to use gouges. It takes much more time, but the result is more handmade and imperfect which I like. Good luck

      Only hand tools about 2-3 hours after some practice. about 5 hours at the beginning. Are you going to make some? I enjoy to eat from it and visits admire it and want one too :) I will probably buy some grinder to get rid of material faster.

    • @HomeWoodSpirit
      @HomeWoodSpirit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      pfeil gouges: most common are 8/20, 3/20, L7/20. Can do a lot with these.
