Absolutely gorgeous plate. Have the biggest urge to try and carve a wooden plate. Wood you say this was beginner friendly or more advance? Excellent work!
It is kind a like a bowl. Just a bit more difficult because of you need to figure out how to clamp it. I believe it is all visible in the video. Good luck
Absolutely wonderful, thank you so much for sharing this work of art. I just had to ask, what is the purpose of the nook in the rim of the plate (if not for esthetic purposes)?
I am very happy for You :-) don't give up my friend. Wood carving is beautiful hobby. If You have some questions about carving, just ask here in comments. I will try to find the best answer for You. :) Which brand of chisels/gouges did You buy? And which carving knife You have? Take care mate :)
Well wooden plates are made usually on wood lathe. I like to use gouges. It takes much more time, but the result is more handmade and imperfect which I like. Good luck
Only hand tools about 2-3 hours after some practice. about 5 hours at the beginning. Are you going to make some? I enjoy to eat from it and visits admire it and want one too :) I will probably buy some grinder to get rid of material faster.
Home Wood Spirit I’m not handy at all, but I would really like to try and make one. I don’t even have tools for it.. so first things first lol 😆..thanks for the video and the reply

pfeil gouges: most common are 8/20, 3/20, L7/20. Can do a lot with these.

Where do you get the wood? Do you order? If so where?
I have my own stock now, but you can order online ( ebay, amazon)
What's the fluid you applied to it?
usually linseed oil
Is it safe for eating on it?
I made a similar one with WoodPrix instructions!
