He has a short attention span, is always interested in food and has no goals or agenda, besides amusing himself. And that's the brilliant part of it. For having such low standards and simple mindset, Jake involuntarily becomes zen, dropping periodically some truths about pain, struggle, love and, mostly important, how in the big picture all those things do not matter that much. While Jake's intentions sometimes can be dubious, or just straight up selfish, his wisdom comes from his simple mind. Perhaps Diogenes was right. Living like a dog can be a virtue.

I recommend writing down dreams often and considering the context of the whole dream and your life events in the three days before the dream occurred. I find that most of my dreams are an allegory of recent events or important lasting feelings I have about life-altering events from long ago. Short of cupping your hands together tightly, you cannot replace a spoon with yourself, which seems to imply that becoming the spoon isn't going to be easy and ideal. A spoon is a utensil, which is to say it is a useful tool. Short of cupping your hands together tightly, you cannot replace a spoon with yourself, which seems to imply that becoming the spoon isn't going to be easy and ideal. It sounds to me like a choice in desperation, but a reminder that you must always try before giving up.
You need to create your own happiness instead of looking for it elsewhere
If you feel lonely, find contentment within yourself and learn to appreciate yourself for who you are, 'cause, you're kinda cool. That's what I get from it.
I went to a catholic high school, and I wanted my senior yearbook quote to be “suckin at something is the first step to being sorta good at something” and it got rejected twice. My quote ended up being some random ass Bible verse.
Man I feel this, our school changed half the answers, totally eradicated the impressions a good portion of the students wanted to leave. All in the pursuit of looking good as a school
This is funny to me because as a teacher, I've said the exact quote to students about 20 times.
“4 big guys and they bust on my eyes”
- some guy named Steve
I've been there. They just up and left mine blank.
That sucks, dude

Jake always dropped the deepest bits of existential wisdom when you never asked him to.
I think the Favorite Cup analogy is the best to use for yourself and life and it always keeps coming back in my mind all the time.
4:08 this scene is actually really good
@@Signingman Sounds like you really, really don't get the point

Jake preaching Stoicism to the young generation before it was cool.

All Jake scenes are wholesome and peak ♥️
I love how the cadence of his voice drops super menacingly when he says “Angry Gods.” 😂
Sounds like Joker from the Red Hood
@@marcodragneel8035”boyyyyy wonderrrrrr!”
@@marcodragneel8035well, about that. It's actually the same voice actor lol
@@SirSigma1120 I know, thats why I pointed it out haha
the voice acting in this was always so top tier
"Being bad is something is the first step to being sorta good at something." My favorite quote
Jake teaching us Stoicism without us knowing❤
to live life you need problems!
He somehow also reminds me of a mix of Taoism and Buddhism.
That's it! It's stoicism! In its purest form
2:25 jake summing up the history of how america happened
Not just America but all of human history. Might makes right in this world unfortunately 😕
You know every civilization is that way right?
@@n1h1luss61 did i say they weren't?
America, Christianity, pretty much humanity and the natural order in general
@@scizorbullet8185 you only said America instead of the world
I’m surprised no one said “whatever you want mama”
Jake said he’s happy to be in multiverses
He really did say all those things
Jake is is easily top 3 for my favourite cartoon characters
0:28 - 0:30 truly the pinnacle of comedy
When I was a kid, I used to bust out laughing because of that
@@gondolier3463 I mean it’s still funny lmao
@@dr.trousers6101 ong I never laughed so hard as a kid from watching a cartoon until I watched that last fart scene
tge eco one is so damn funny, it's his face afterwards, he looks so surprised

What a wise and profound sidekick.
You forgot this
" Work and fun don't mix unless you are a clown"
That quote makes sense
"you stay away from my women, ehh... sandwicth"

I like that Jake consistently wishes for sandwiches
My guy is satisfied with life as it comes, and a nice little sammich. 😗
“On ciabatta bread maybe?? I don’t know. Whatever you have lying around, your choice.🙂”
Last clip is deep. Jake shows us to be stoic. You can’t control your environment, but u sure can control your reaction.
The fact that he later tried to get his cup back at the end of that episode is hilarious! 🤣
Some of the stuff Jake says is so well thought out and actually really great for kids to hear
“DO NOT DO TEIR FIFTEEN!”
@@renranger2135 ok yeah, not that but you know what I meant
0:15 me playing skyrim

One of the wisest people in the world, and people won’t listen because he’s a fictional character. Every one of these quotes are excellent life advise, but no one really listens. Albert Einstein once said to read children fairy tales if you want them to be smart, but no one does anymore
People just leave kids infront of phones and leave em
This man gave up his favorite cup to teach his friend a lesson
“Sucking at something is the first step to being kinda good at something”
😩🙌🏿 love jake 🐾
i never noticed how good the writing was on this show when I was a kid. Now im appreciating it more as i get older . dam
Jake really busted his favorite cup no hesitation just to help his bro feel better all while spitting some wise junk. A real friend.
He actually didn't get rid of it or destroy it, he fished it back up immediately after
That’s what’s hilarious. Everything that Jake told Finn about letting things go is false wisdom since Jake caves to his whims instantly, but Finn still takes him seriously. 😂
@@zeejonesy Honestly that's why it felt wrong for Jake to go to the 50th deadworld, he's always been driven almost entirely by worldly desires which is literally the opposite of how nirvana is supposed to work
@user-pt1re4qp1r In one way yeah, but he also is completely ok giving it all up when death is involved. If not for Finn, he would have let himself die in that one space ep without a second thought.
Currently re-watching futurama and I can't stop thinking about how much Jake's character mimics bender in his tone, delivery, and energy
They’re played by the same voice actor too which makes it 10x better imo
3:00 I always thought this was some obscure/well hidden innuendo I didn't get (not including tier 15) but I've finally realized he was talking about Lady specifically not women in general
When rich people say "money can't buy happiness", what they mean to say is...
"If you can get everything you want the momment you want them, what's the point of living?"
“Bad biscuits make the baker broke, bro” sounds like a Kanye quote
Finn: "What about Tier 15?"
Jake: "YOU STAY AWAY FROM THAT!"
Finn: "..."
Jake: "DO NOT DO TIER FIFTEE-"
Lmfao
The perfectly timed cut got me lol
Jake is the big brother I needed as a kid. I don't want to imagine what my life could've been without him. 💕
I forgot Jake straight up explained societal systematic oppression
3:10 I was confused at first, then realized that he takes Lady Rainicorn as an example. Which still is somewhat weird.
I like how jake simplified systematic oppression for kids
You gotta love jake’s philosophies they were pretty interesting and adaptable
He's so funny and adorable
This whole video reminded me about how philosophical Jake was
"no punchies i am in control"
One sec later: *Crying*
0:08 Now that is a helpful quote.
WHAT
Remember people Jake literally achieved Nirvana. So everything he says is the voice of an enlightened being
That last clip is my absolute favorite. I was getting worried it wouldn't make it in the video
3:41 im still sad watching this scene, this was so heartbreaking to hear the outro
Teir 5 "where she'll let you discover all 15ft of her long beautiful stomach" bro thats outrageous for a kids show🤣🤣🤣
They literally wrote the best character ever. He’s so helpful and fun and I love him
