I have been waiting for this device for what seems to be forever. Other than the power issues(not having enough) I think this is probably exactly what I am looking for in a device. Full Chrome browser, android, Linux apps...use a nice USB C "docking station" and you have a powerful little device for at home and you can just pick it up and take it with you.
The Tab 10 is capable of so much more than "educational" uses. I bought mine to use as my photoediting platform, instead of the iPad I've been using. The iPad's limitations, where moving completed photos to other devices is concerned is solved by the Tab 10's microSD port and USB-C port, as well.
Actually , +FubarMike The last version of RemixOS is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow so yes people can stand to still run the last version of RemixOS .

Belkin makes a wired USB keyboard for the Tab 10, which is a good thing, considering the security hole in Bluetooth that was addressed recently by Ars Technica.
While waiting for mine to arrive from Amazon, I read an article that says Google is withdrawing support for earlier versions of Chrome OS. Not very encouraging. One of the reasons I bought it was to address Microsoft's similar treatment of not only Windows 7, but a couple of versions of Windows 10, as well, including the one I upgraded to on my old Lenovo 11e notebook. I just upgraded the Tab 10 to version 70, so good that it's at least supported for that long, but now I'm wondering how many more updates I can expect.
The stylus stored in the device on the left side means that for most people who write with their right hand, they will pull it out with their left hand, then hold it with their right hand, thus requiring both hands to retrieve the stylus. It would have been more convenient if the stylus was stored on the right side. This way the user wouldn't need to use both hands to retrieve the stylus because the user is holding the device in one hand.

Dont buy a chromebook tablet until they allow all android apps to see the memory on microsd cards and even internal storage.....better off with a convertible chromebook with higher internal storage
One last thing: I use Snapseed for iOS for editing my RAW files on my 2018 iPad. The Android version of Snapseed should be just as useful, and without having to buy an SD card reader dongle, like I had to do with the iPad.
I don't think you ever were in desktop mode.. from what I've seen in other reviews like chrome unboxed, you have to have both a keyboard AND mouse attached for it to switch, which then allows for usual behaviors, like resizing windows. I was hoping for you to show this, as that's a main part of what seperates this from other Android tablets.
I hoped to get more info about the charger. Is it possible to use a stanard usb c charger and powerbank to charge this tablet (maybee a little bit slower than with the huge one included) or will it just not load correct ? is this thing for 250$ a ok deal? I really want a new tablet but Android tablets never get Updates and usually already sell with 1 or 2 year old android , i dont like Ipads because i heavy rely on a File explorer to copy videos, images... via usb and the IPad doesnt offer this to me + i'd like to stay usb c only and keep the headphone jack, I already have a powerfull win10 xps 15 so a suface would be an overkill , so this with all its tradeoffs seems to be the best alternative for me but i'm really unshure
Who needs a Bluetooth keyboard, especially when it's been recently revealed that Bluetooth has a huge security problem, making your every keystroke visible to anyone "bluesnarking" your device remotely. You might want to think twice about that Logitech keyboard, guy.
The storage and charging solution for the stylus is far better than Apple's dopey solution for the Apple Pencil, also. Oh, and you don't have to pay $100 for Acer's stylus, which comes with the tablet.

I quit buying windows because they constantly wanted us to buy next version, money, money and more money. Plus Microsoft gates wants people to be chipped so he can sell the chips, monster.
For $300+ you can buy a refurbished Surface Pro 3 off of Amazon and have a much better all around tool. Faster processor, more memory, 12-inch screen, and all of the Windows programs you've been using for years. This is a "proof of concept" device that they decided to rush to market. It should be priced at $150 or less!
$399 got me the first iteration of the Surface 4, white box refurb, from Frys. They since raised the price to $450 due to popularity. It comes and goes in their ads. I agree. Much better all around deice. I agree, Acer is list-priced too high. Especially against the much better hardware in the iPad 2018.
Seems to me that a 12" 800g windows tablet is a rather different device to a 9.7" 550g ChromeOS device. If you need processing speed and windows programs, I doubt you were looking in the Chromebook area in the first place, much less ChromeOS based tablets. These sorts of tablets are consumption devices with the added note taking / annotation feature. They also likely have much better battery life than your refurb Surface anything. If I want windows, I need a keyboard, so a 2-in-1 always wins out in the end (I have a Vivotab Note 8 and a T904 myself). If you buy a Surface Pro 3 without any type of keyboard, you are buying the wrong kind of tablet.

The iPad doesn't support alphabetized icons, either. You can move them, though, as you probably can with the Acer, as well.
Is the Slack Android app able to run in the split screen mode next to Chrome on this device?
