"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer." is one of the hardest lines ever. God, this game is so good.
Javik was a pre-order DLC. 10 bucks if you didn't pre-order. Honestly one of the earliest examples of companies taking on disc content and cutting it off for separate purchase. That didn't go over super well. Shepard's face after the oxygen joke is infamous. It's been a part of ME meme culture since the game came out and it never gets old LOL And I'm so glad you picked the option that led to Javik's ICONIC "stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask if honor matters...the silence is your answer" line. This and Sovereign's "You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it" line are two of my absolute favorite lines. I fucking love Javik. Lowkey my favorite companion next to Garrus and Wrex.
From Ashes being DLC wasn't intentional. A lack of development time and budget from EA forced Bioware to leave it out of the main game. The game had to be put on discs and shipped to retailers before From Ashes was done.
Mass effect is so peak. First one was good, second one was great and the third one is amazing as well. Just the characters, the arcs of them, the evolving universe, and more. Such an amazing trilogy
I am so happy that you immediately realized that Javik's behavior is the result of him literally needing to come to terms with waking up 50k years into the future, with the reapers still there and his entire civilization gone! When I first played ME3, I didn't pick up on those important details - I only looked at Javik's behavior and deemed him someone with a "rude" attitude just for the way he talked to Liara alone, and some of his other conversations at times. I didn't give him the chance to shine, and so I rarely took him on missions and shrugged off a lot he said. However, when I played the game again, I actually paid more attention. And when Liara began to tell us that while for us it "has been 50k years but for him it's only been..." and it goes to his line "a few minutes" I realized how wrong I was. Javik literally went into the pod only knowing that he may either die or wake up alone if the pods aren't discovered in time. He wakes up to find himself rescued by species he only knows as primitive, now wearing highly advanced armor like he does - he sees the planet he fought on changed completely from how he rememberes, the city he fought to protect gone. And then he is told the reapers are still there - he escaped the nightmare only to wake back up in it, the last of his species. The portrayal of his grief turned to anger and pride because it is the only thing he has left to handle what is happening is just great. Like I said, I am so glad you immediately picked up on it! What I will say though is that Javik is the only companion where I would switch between Paragon and Renegade options - because sometimes Paragon isn't what I believed he needed to hear. All the more reason he is my favorite, because he has one step out of the comfort zone of how they usually play their Shepard ☺️ Okay, essay is all done now, I didn't plan for it to be this long 😂🙈
This was a great comment, thanks for taking the time to type it all out. And yeah Javik I could tell immediately it wasn't so simple, and things were simply different back then so you have to kinda forgive how he says things because, when ya think about it alot has changed in the 3 short years since ME1, for him it's been 50,000 years, **everything** has been flipped on its head. His species simply WAS above most others, so he kinda just needs that time to adapt. It'll be a slow process, but I'd love a story to see how things go for him in the future. If he makes it outta me3 alive 😅
1:35:55 The Inusannon were what you saw as statues on Ilos in Mass Effect 1. The species with the weird tenacles coming out of their mouths (assuming that's their mouth).
Every time in ME2 when you said "what if EDI gets a robot body" I was like "man... it really does sound like he got spoiled about a lot of stuff" You got lucky with more predictions than you can even imagine lol

Just to make sure, remember these non-spoiler hints: After doing Grissom Academy, try doing the sidemissions and Scanning in the Galaxy map before launching the missions labeled as 'Priority', as those will advance the story; Talk to Cortez regularly in the Normandy and around the Citadel. He has a small "loyalty" mission attached to it that progresses through these conversations(Same goes for Joker and EDI's relationship. You gotta help them out); When you eventually get a dossier about a new antagonist, read it as soon as possible; And, for the future, remember to save someone specific during Act 2.(I'm hesitant to elaborate because it might be considered spoilers, but let's say it's a similar situation to the 2 quarians related to Tali's Loyalty Mission in ME 2. Similar situation to get a good outcome.); About the DLCs, Omega is best done in the middle, after Priority Citadel 2, and Leviathan and Citadel Shore Leave are best done before the mission that starts the endgame.

So a little game history for you. When the DLC for Javik was released, almost overnight people were complaining that Javik was a racist character because his voice actor was Jamaican. It cause a big fight between the fanbase as either you loved Javik or hated him but didn’t think he was racist. OR you hated BioWare because you thought he was racist. Looking forward to seeing you play the rest of the series. Mass Effect 3’s moral dilemmas are so much heavier than the past 2 games. You really see the positive or negative affects of your past choices and immediate choices in this game
@KingdomAce He's the last of his kind cut him some slack! Besides think of the answers to the biggest questions in the Galaxy like the location of the Prothean Home Planet!!!!
@@KingdomAce no this was a moment were a lot of activism started to get into video games (on both sides by the way I’m not picking on anyone). But they thought that because Javik’s voice actor was black, and because his race looks like bugs, they declared that BioWare was being racist by saying black people were bugs. Which was showing their internal racism because literally no one was thinking that. The controversy lasted about a week because then people started completing the ending (which would go on to be a massive historical gaming event because BioWare literally apologized to the community and released a DLC that changed the ending slightly because of it). I won’t spoil the ending for you but obviously it didn’t make gamers happy. But Javik is an awesome character. He deeply is a tragic character and as you speak to him more, you really get to see this 50,000 year old warrior open up slightly about his goals and mission. Definitely visit jack after every mission.
@@brianwhite9339 that would be an awesome thing we could have gotten an answer to from him but was never discussed in game. That lore alone would be awesome. Think of the bouncing Liara would be doing if she knew where it was? She would never leave that planet
Goat 43:03 aye I got mentioned! The turret is also good for holding down certain areas as well or blocking off doors (they can still walk through but they will get shot) I’d also give the flamethrower upgrade a look, Great for emergency’s. Wether you keep it near to crisp enemy’s who get too close, or right in their faces for a surprise cooking sesh. But that’s my preference.
If you ever find yourself playing through this again, I’d recommend playing vanguard in ether 2 or 3 on a lower difficulty. Not that I’m saying you’re trash (you’re doing great), only that it is really fun to bash the enemy’s over without being gunned down. The biotic charge is a fun ability to play with.
My man, I understand engineering feels more like a wizard but you don't have to rely on your powers that much. Weapons still kick ass. If you're saving for that spectre weapon, I definitely suggest the Cerberus Harrier for you. It's the 2nd best assault rifle in the game and will multiply your fun during engagements. You won't need any other close/long range weapon and it's light enough to give you low cooldowns on your powers.
I do kit out the mattock in a later episode and in the episode I recorded today it worked pretty well! I'll be trying to weave them.bith together more often. I hyper use powers here more because I kinda dislike the smg and pistol I have in this episode
Don't think I've played a better straight-up sci-fi series! Makes me wanna play KOTOR from them too because despite the age, I've heard nothing but great things from both games.
Ace I would HIGHLY recommend leaving the rest of the DLC for moment I previously recommend in a comment on one of your last ME2 videos. Citadel: Dr. Byrson starts the Leviathan DLC and it's best saved for latter for better placement in the story and additional lore. I previously recommend doing this DLC after the mission Priority: Thessia for lore reasons.
To restate from a comment on your previous episode, warp ammo DOES NOT prime, but it does let you do more damage to targets, and especially if they are affected by some kind of biotic debuff.
Just a reminder, some weapons do have penetration mods, that go through riot shields and thin walls. Which is great for the mattock, and assault rifles in general. and sniper rifles. Also try all weapons you find. some are very unique in what they fire and how they function. And some weapons have charge functions. Just hold down the trigger.
Mass Effect is SO GOOD because it was made at a time when the creators still CARED. They cared about the people playing and the game they were making. 🔥🔥🔥
I hate when people say that developers don’t care about the game their making. Don’t assign aggressive business and marketing strategies on the devs making the game. The “From Ashes” dlc wasn’t ready when the game went gold and was finalized for console. How the business unit decided to release the dlc isn’t the responsibility of the hardworking devs who crunched to get the content finished. Please be more specific in your criticisms.
🐐 I'm loving the frequency of videos, you're putting in work! Javik is an awesome character, my favorite of me3. Just wanted to mention in case you haven't figured it out already, don't worry about buying gun mods in stores, the ones you picked up in the field were higher level versions of those you bought so you're not wasting money.
One thing is a plus for you, balance enjoyment and astute. If it is okay to say here, power combos is very effective and enjoyable, BUT there is setup... prime --> detonate. If curious, wikia power combo ME3 search, and NO spoiler other than how explosions happen. Btw, iirc Javik's VA was in Black Panther too, but trust me it took me a few playthroughs to appreciate both Javik and James, until you learn to listen. Kind of handy in real life, but even in a 'simple' video game, you do have to learn to listen vs hear. Trust me Javik takes a lot of understanding, and what he represent of a past civilization, and where a favorite song comes to fruition, "When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 3000: that is what Javik is in his mind.... cannot fault him either.
MOREEE MASS EFFECT YEAHHHHH (ill be back in the comments you know how it is ) aaohh also when u do priority sur'kesh i RECOMMEND bringing liara and garrus its really funny edit: also little tip for when fighting the big mechs, you can shoot the glass and kill the one piloting it and u can steal it too
@@KingdomAce Exactly. I know everyone is calling it a money grab and maybe it was on EA's part but Bioware's hands were tied. They were scrambling to finish it but simply couldn't manage.
Just wanted to let you know, you were super close to hitting the money when you mentioned garrus and liara getting together. And also I HEAVILY recommend playing smart because some missions do have a hidden timer where they cannot be played if you ignore them long enough
Also I will be revealing a minor spoiler about something you said because you already "cancelled" the possibility for it to happen You brought up garrus and liara, but if you don't romance garrus or tali they actually end up together
I used the LE1 Community Patch, the Infinite Sprint, and Charted Worlds which just puts icons on the map for the Mako sections. For Me2 I used the Unofficial LE2 Patch, Infinite Sprint, One Probe All Resources (specifically giving 40-60% of total), and I used the Omni Key Sperator, so Use, Interact and Cover are all separate keys on keyboard.
Also, another comment. The TH-cam channel PrimeRadiancy does Presidents Play videos. Not too long ago he did a video on the presidents ranking the weapons of mass effect. It would really help you in combat to know what guns are worth buying and what guns are absolutely worthless. Some of the N7 weapons are dog water. I will say this: You get a two weapons from the citadel DLC that awesome but you really wanna wait to do that DLC until the end of the game. But just a thought. Plus he could use subscribers and it would be an easy video for you to react to
@@KingdomAce "Presidents play Mass Effect" is an absolutely hillarious playthrough. You should have a look after you finish ME3. But beware - it is full of spoilers!
I’ll say it…F that kid I was okay till after he died then he just won’t leave lol I felt heartless cause now I kinda laugh when his ship blows up. He had help and wanted to be Batman
@ I didn’t care my first play through cause I didn’t like the dream sequence plus just how much it focuses on him. I gave him my hand and wanna go ghost. Then he watched me instead of leaving plus how the rest of the game go I just can’t. Honestly it might be a TH-cam video worth of unnecessary hate I have for him but still rage grows lol
I know I'm watching these a couple episodes behind, but if someone hasn't warned you yet... Always do all the other missions you can before you do "Priority" missions. Some disastrous things can happen if you don't. Sorry if you think this is a spoiler, but it really can mess up your game, and being a first time playthrough, you do not want to have to reload two hours back or something.

@@KingdomAce The mattock is great, was far better in ME2. The harrier is exactly the same as mattock but much higher damage.
GOAT. Peak sci-fi indeed.
Don't think I've played a better straight-up sci-fi series! Makes me wanna play KOTOR from them too because despite the age, I've heard nothing but great things from both games.
Here’s to hoping bros as addicted to the game as I was first playing it.
Then we can get new episodes quickly lol.
I have up to episode 5 recorded already 🫡
@@KingdomAce 🐐
Ace I would HIGHLY recommend leaving the rest of the DLC for moment I previously recommend in a comment on one of your last ME2 videos. Citadel: Dr. Byrson starts the Leviathan DLC and it's best saved for latter for better placement in the story and additional lore. I previously recommend doing this DLC after the mission Priority: Thessia for lore reasons.
I believe I saw it and as of Episode 5 I still have been saving it, so no worries 🙏🏾 thanks for lookin' out
Maybe 2 pistols isn't the best choice of weapons^^ You have everything avaible in ME3 without handling problems.
Yeah I think it's episode 4 I decide to rethink my gun strats.
Just caught up on your playthrough, this is my first time catching you as you drop.
Absolutely loving your gameplay and commentary
Thanks so much for the kind words 😭🙏🏾
Mass Effect is SO GOOD because it was made at a time when the creators still CARED. They cared about the people playing and the game they were making. 🔥🔥🔥
I'm glad I can finally play them!
Yes, Paragon Lost reaction would be great even when I’m not currently part of patreon atm.
That particle rifle is my favorite weapon in the game, it's often the only gun I carry.
It seems low damage but got a ton of other benefits!
@@KingdomAce yeah, it is fairly low dmg, I use it more to support my abilities, and love that it has infinite ammo and no reload.
Get ready for Javik, one of the baddass and coolest character in the game. Dude is a Batman!
GOAT!!!
😭🐐
MOREEE MASS EFFECT YEAHHHHH (ill be back in the comments you know how it is )
aaohh also when u do priority sur'kesh i RECOMMEND bringing liara and garrus its really funny
edit: also little tip for when fighting the big mechs, you can shoot the glass and kill the one piloting it and u can steal it too
AHH I will do my best to remember this!
The From Ashes DLC was originally meant to be part of the base game but EA didn't give Bioware more time and budget to finish it in time.
Geez that explains a lot, that really sucks. Cause not everyone buys dlc, or even knows about them coming out
@@KingdomAce Exactly. I know everyone is calling it a money grab and maybe it was on EA's part but Bioware's hands were tied. They were scrambling to finish it but simply couldn't manage.
THIS GAME IS SO GOOD
Just wanted to let you know, you were super close to hitting the money when you mentioned garrus and liara getting together. And also I HEAVILY recommend playing smart because some missions do have a hidden timer where they cannot be played if you ignore them long enough
Also I will be revealing a minor spoiler about something you said because you already "cancelled" the possibility for it to happen
You brought up garrus and liara, but if you don't romance garrus or tali they actually end up together
Javik’s voice actor voices a romancable companion in dragon age the veilguard!
There's actually a few voice actors in this game that are in both Dragon Age and Skyrim.
Goat, taking out that meck was awesome 👍😎
Game makes me feel so alive!! 😭❤️
Mass Effect IS peak! How did you not play these games before this? 😂
GOAT
Ace which mods did you use for ME1 and 2 starting a new playthrough tom.
@@KingdomAce Nice thank you :)
Plus he could use subscribers and it would be an easy video for you to react to
Not sure what that is but I may have to check it out!
@@KingdomAce "Presidents play Mass Effect" is an absolutely hillarious playthrough. You should have a look after you finish ME3. But beware - it is full of spoilers!
Great play through GOAT
I appreciate you 🐐🙏🏾
🐐🐐🐐🐐
You're MY goat 🫡🐐
I’ll say it…F that kid I was okay till after he died then he just won’t leave lol I felt heartless cause now I kinda laugh when his ship blows up. He had help and wanted to be Batman
Thats diabolical 😭
@ I didn’t care my first play through cause I didn’t like the dream sequence plus just how much it focuses on him. I gave him my hand and wanna go ghost. Then he watched me instead of leaving plus how the rest of the game go I just can’t. Honestly it might be a TH-cam video worth of unnecessary hate I have for him but still rage grows lol
He was just a scared kid 💀
@ I can’t fully say why I don’t like him but I have a breath of reasons but I also understand why he ran. I can’t say more
The game us so epic and GOAT now, but it's still only just the beginning. Wild ride ahead
I'm ready to get my feelings hurt‼️
Let's be clear bro Corporal Jenkins did not run out you sent him out 🤣🤣 RIP
Don't know what ya mean 🤫
Loving the play through. ❤
Thanks so much 😭🙏🏾
Javik the ME3 goat
No lies detected ‼️
I never took Edi along for missions. Maybe i should do it more in the next run.
10000% should!
This man the 🐐!
Good writing back then, a lot of love for 1 and 2 and ... it's just fucking Good ... oh and command your teammates, don't just use there abilities, tell them where the should go ^^
Gonna be honest, it'll be hard to form the habit 💀
Use your keybinds for powers (1, 2, 3, etc) or else why have them
If you see in the video, I 1000% use them. But I LIKE pausing to execute. I use both as I deem necessary.
@@KingdomAce yeah fair enough maybe its just my zoomie brain never hitting space and binding all powers
@Tom-H1 it reminds me of the FF7 Remake games, pausing the action to execute commands to your party. As a turn based fan, it gives me happiness lol
GOAT
😭🐐
1:22:25 oh he does
GOAT 🐐🔥
GOAT W xD

Hope you enjoy 🙏🏾
Bro remember my words, every color is good except red
If you wanna get depressed you should play the new Dragon Age after playing this masterpiece and see what Bioware have turned to.
Veilguard looks the best to me! I haven't seen the story and stuff, but the dialogue does not bother me. And the gameplay looks really fun
@@KingdomAce I promise you, you're gonna love the combat on Veilguard and Andromeda. It's genuinely so cool!
