I have added 12KW on-grid and 4KW off grid last week.
What a chaalak suggestion. I would add that we could bypass generational units from inside meter after installation using some kind of switch or tool since a lot of new tricks will be launched to bypass or hack this situation.

Don't go for Ongrid.
Off-grid is the right solution
My tested experiment : a big battery like TX3500 or TR3500 Usually 280 or 290Ah, can store 1500 watts to use overnight in 12 hours, ie 125 watts per hour. Such 4 battries can give 400 watts all night in 12 hours for fans, lights, washing machine but not iron and water pump. To run 1 ton AC, you need four more such battries. Keep away from Wapda, investing in battries is always cheep. If you take not more than 125 watts from one battery, then it's life will be 6 plus years. I have 4 panels and two tx 2500, 230Ah, which run 3 Fans, 4 lights all the night, but fridge is on Wapda. Two more battries will be fine to include Fridge. Don't install too much panels. 10 panels and 8 battries can make you free 100% from Wapda
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I also did the same calculations, and came up with a similar result. I think that there needs to be an increased awareness on hybrid solar systems, and the hype around on-grid systems needs to end. All fans, refrigerators, motors, electronic appliances should be on a 24-hour-backup hybrid solar system, so that we use wapda ONLY for running our ACs during the night (I say this because it becomes extremely expensive to run ACs on batteries.)
If one has an 8KW hybrid system, they can even keep running an AC all day so that the room can stay cold even through the night, and allow the user to keep the AC on a higher temperature setting.
I am eagerly waiting for the cost of lithium-ion batteries in Pakistan to drop, as they'll be a much better option than even the best tubular batteries in the long run.
All things considered, 6-8 tubular batteries can help a lot of people go off-grid to a great extent, and limit the reliance on this cursed martial-law regime, which is installed in Pakistan for the sole purpose of serving the interests of the armed-elite of Pakistan, and the international establishment.
And Sir, I would also share a personal experience, that with tubular batteries you should also make sure that their charge does not drop below 50%, if you want to increase their life considerably. Even if you're taking 125W from a tubular battery for 12 hours, the charge might drop below 50%. One can install more tubular batteries to keep the charge always above 50%.
It is important to note that a tubular battery will be at 50% when its resting voltage is around 12.2 Volts. So if you have a 2-battery system, the battery pack will be at 50% capacity when the voltage has reached 24.4 Volts and so on....
(The values I have given are for a resting battery. When you're discharging, or charging a battery, the voltage can be slightly lower or higher, respectively.)
The biggest problem with lead acid batteries is that if you discharge them below 22 Volts even a few times, their health is greatly reduced.
@@lockhandle8276 it is matter of cost and use, I think a deep cycle battery can tolerate till 70%. I have manage the load in such a way that till sunrise the inverter don't cut the battery due to low voltage. If the battery manufacture has allowed, we can go to a lower level but a bit above the cutoff stage.
Things are made to use and expire ultimately. Chill kro yar.
Simply divide the cost on 60 months... Much affordable than Wapda
My latest vote goes to Lithium battries. Go for only 48 volts and good brand. No local assembled.

That is why Off-Grid system is always better or thora sa or socha jaye to Sirf ghar ka 1 AC ko solar par kar dia jaye or usko subha 09 sa sham 4 baja tak chala lia jaye. Or usko chalana sa pehla usi system par water motor chal kar tanki full kar li jaye to reduce the bill. That is the best designed system.

You are right best thing is you produce your own electricity hybrid system with full battery back up for the night time . And I will suggest to have one small generator of 20 kv for emergency basis . Then you can discontinue the wapda electricity system from your house

I think we/you need to elaborate it more. Firstly pls check all other Discos policy first as KE policy is only for Karachi so a major chunk of your viewers don’t connect with that.
In most Discos, as per my understanding and experience, net metering has an offset component and a purchase/sell component. The units u import cancel off (offset) the units you export. Net leftover units if in ur account ie if u exported more than imported is priced at arnd Rs 19 and bought by Wapda every 3 months (approx). If you imported more than you exported than the extra units (after offsetting the exported ones) are sold to you at the retail rate as usual along with applicable taxes.
Now we come to the next step. Gross metering or whatever is being introduced. The gross metering concept that you very well elaborated and publicised in news as well seems impracticable. In Pak you just can’t measure the electricity being produced by inverters indoors. My understanding/information is that you will be able to still use the self produced electricity like you currently do. But the offset component that I pointed out earlier which gives the biggest benefit to consumer will be ending. The electricity you export will be bought by Wapda at cheaper rate and all imported electricity (without any offset) will be sold to you at the usual higher retail rates. Hence higher net bills and taxes as well.

Netmetering means that you use Solar produced electricity first then the amount of extra you units you provide to grid, you get same units back without extra charge. In Gross metering you you use Solar produced electricity first and the amount of extra electricity you produce you sell to grid on fixed low rate but one you get from grid is on higher rate. The Solar produced electricity you produce is urs, its only for extra electricity you sell you grid that can vary in net metering and gross metering.
I installed the system 2 months ago, I was not even getting the actual bill right now. It is a hybrid system. Should I continue with the same or you guys suggest some changes in the system with the new govt policy?

The Hybrid inverters will become obsolete. Hybrid inverters are those which can charge batteries as well as sell the unused electricity to wapda (off-grid and on-grid function, hence called hybrid). But in gross metering, you have to sell ALL of your electricity to wapda. So hybrid inverters will mostly function as off-grid inverters because selling electricity to wapda is not feasible anymore. It is better to use the electricity in the morning to run ACs for no reason than to sell electricity to wapda.
How can you help in finding the correct PV?
If Govt bans net-metering, people should try to "go to court solution".

Off grid. Hybrid system means that you are selling unused electricity to Wapda. But in GROSS METERING there is NO SUCH THING as unused electricity. You have to sell ALL of the production of the solar panels to wapda. So basically, starting from July 2024, after net metering is made illegal, the only option would be to go AS OFF-GRID AS POSSIBLE.
Next step: Off-grid per bhi bijli ka bill dayna parray ga!

For every tubular battery installed, off-grid users will have to pay Rs.12000 per month in IPP tax. If a person is using an off-grid system without giving the tax, then they will be tried in the Army Courts according to the Army Act of 1952.

add couple of bulbs . 3 tvs etc. sirf washing machine nahe chalata sham ko. easy solution.
