Great video, very succinct and to the point. Unfortunately, it didn't solve my issue. I checked the fuse under the steering column, checked the relay under the hood, switched the relay with the power window relay, all with the same result - no fan whatsoever. So I pulled the panel off under the passenger side, removed the wire connection to the fan and plugged my volt meter into it. Then I started the car with the blower dial on full. My meter read 14.8v. Then I plugged the wires back in and hit the blower motor with a crescent wrench repeatedly. Still wouldn't come on. So I pulled the wires off again, plugged the volt meter back into the connections at the end of the wire and started turning the fan dial to various positions. It read 14.8 volts no matter what position that dial was in. Even in the off position it reads 14.8v. Not sure what to do now. Maybe a bad resistor but if it's sending full voltage then why isn't the fan motor coming on full???
Update - Wanted to add for anyone else who happens by with the same problem - it turned out to be the resistor. When I wrote the above post I had forgotten how resistors work. It was normal for it to show full voltage. What it limits is amperage, and something had gone wrong inside of it so it wouldn't provide enough amperage for the blower motor to work at all. These resistors are available at Autozone and probably many other auto parts stores. Just search for "blower motor resistor" on their site. Be aware that the Civic sedan and coupe use different ones. They're a little awkward to get to but two screws and one plug and you're done. There's a heat sink on the back of them that could be hot so look out for that when you're removing the old one.

Im trying this tomorrow i had all the same symptoms and the connection to the blower had 14.2v no matter the dial positioning but the blower would only kick on for 5 seconds at most then shut off.

So I have a 04 civic si hatchback. Started a few weeks ago. When I shut off the car the AC/heat can still be used. The recirculation button light is on. I can turn the fan speed control n it will come on. Normally before everything would shut off before but it will stay on. It’s draining my battery even when I turn everything off. Was told to change the blower motor resistor. Help!!!!

Thanks for the video. 02 Civic... The AC light comes on, no blower fan at all, no compressor engagement. When I tap the blower fan motor with a wrench (as described), the compressor will come on briefly and shut off, no air blows from vents during that brief on/off cycle. Fan motor??

Great video.. the transistor usually goes out before the blower..at least in my case. Jumping the relay points was helpful. I keep a paper clip on my tool box..😊 2003 civic ex 1.7 202k

My dashboard fan speed switch skips and turn off the ac compressor sometime. Then a tap on Dash fan speed button it turns on the compressor and power up the blower. Please rectify my issue. Fan Speed button also missing some speed numbers that's y it turn off the AC sometimes. I also change the Resistor block.
May b fan switch cleaning issues or what?
Please guide me. Hope u understand my point. Thank You
